I gave the Nur a shot earlier on but I just don't think it suits my [lack of] driving style. For me, it felt quite heavy in comparison to the '00 N1. The mid-range acceleration seemed to be worse and the turn-in wasn't too good for me either. I suppose it's all about personal style and finding something that suits you.

I've taken a couple of tenths off my first two sectors now, but I lost out a bit towards the end of the lap.

30.390
58.090
Nice laps! And hmm, maybe I'll hop back into my 99, I also had a 00(only partially upgraded), but sold it last night for money for the Nur. Blah, we'll see. Nice runs for sure, I don't think that fast is legal for Div.3, haha, I thought I was getting ahead of myself!

The NUR '02 drives like a bloody dog and I can't seem to get the HP close (within a couple of digits) of 500 ... stage 2 turbo alone is too much while a stage 1 plus EVERYTHING else is too little. I hate the freaking car. Hate it.

God, I was beginning to get happy with my times in the MNP, now every one is turning in over a second faster: 58.090 in D3? Lord have mercy, that's not even in the same league.

I may as well turn in my slow time and be done with this farce.

Small_fryz was saying leave the engine mods that you can't undo(port/polish, disp, and balancing) off, and you can get to 500. But, I found that with everything on it, and stage one, it has more trq and a better powerband than using stage 2 turbo. So I might be using it like that, with only 484 or so hp, but 481lb-ft of trq compared to something around 460. With my 99, I think I have 466lb-ft, and 495 or 498hp.

And I think he(amp) may be in the same boat as me, didn't spend enough time on the qualifier...

I just loadedboth ghosts (NUR 02 and MNP III 00) into my graph read out to compare cornering speeds and the likes: Why would my NUR 02 be listed at 476HP while my MNP was correctly listed at 500?

No other graph anywhere in the game lists my NUR 02 with 476HP ... so why is the 'telemetry' data pickign it up as this? Do I need to buy another bloody car here to fix this damned thing?

UGH!

Was on another fast one there, but then I just cut a little too much :(

The 58.090 was a combination of a few hours practice today and a decent helping of luck. The corners I seem to have trouble with most are the first corner and the corner after the T1 split. I just can't seem to get the braking perfect.

I'm getting scunnered with this though, probably gonna give up and submit my time soon.

I probably did something like 10 laps or so for the qualifier, but I'm not a fan of Infineon. I also don't like the handling of the standard M3. I'm not complaining though, it's the same for everyone else :)

Kolyana, using Z's settings i got the nur II to work like a dream, i used his latest settings but w/ 8 on ASM understeer and it really takes off, granted i haven't broken 1.00.000 with it yet, but thats def my errors that are preventing me there. :(

UPDATE: I broke down and bought the '02 NUR, and I did:

T1 31.216
T2 59.321

I did notice that it seemed like I could get a higher top speed at the end of the straight with the N1 Carbon Hood car (maybe the lower weight?) but I ended up managing a 0.6 second improvement with the new car. Still playing around WAY too much with the setup.

Tried the '87 GTS-R but even with the superior P/W I don't think that it'll be faster...

I think that there still may be hope in the N1, but as most of the speedy ones have a NUR, well, who's to argue?

I'm still dealing with turn-in understeer so I'm guessing that I have a major setup problem...

All you superhumans out there, help a brother out with some settings? :^)

Shig, if you try Z's settings on, i think page 7? they worked wonder for me as i said in my last post, hope they help you, welcome to club nur! :)

I believe KLR mentioned this originally, but I tried removing the aftermarket VCD and now the car just rotates beatifully around the bends. Still feels heavy in the middle of a turn, but much better overall.

Keep matching my best times and have seen 57.2xx at T2, but fouled it up on the last corner. :(

?? Stage 2 fit just fine for me, but then again I didn't automatically do an oil change

Wait - so you are faster WITHOUT the VCD?

I'm going to have to buy this damned car all over again, click a billion bloody times to add the bits that are needed and will then re-try with Z's settings. I couldn't get close to the Purple People Eater, though and after jumping straight back into the ol' beast I was running T2's of 59.4 again in no time .. granted, with no setting adjustments.

Right now I have infinitively more faith in running sub 59 in the MNP than I do in any other Skyline ... I hate them all with an incredible and growing passion.

I also have ZERO idea on how to take that bloody s-bend ... if I cut the grass on the first part I invariably get car movement which ruins the approach to the second bend. If I cut the second bend - placing right wheels on the curb and everything else on the grass - I'll invariably get a skid and loss of speed.

This entire bend kills my run ... it's pure luck if I hit it right or not ... luck.

Wait - so you are faster WITHOUT the VCD?

By about a second, if not more. You may need to adjust TCS or other options to deal with the new-found loss of traction in the lower gears, but it's great. Almost no understeer to speak of.

I know whatcha mean, kolyana, 90% of my laps are abandoned on 1 of the first 5 corners, should be hilarious to see me tomorrow w/ me new DFP! lol

Would you care to share your settings that worked for you?

I tried it briefly w/o the VCD just now and the car is all over the place - I'm afraid putting the driving aides on too high will result in loss of speed in corners...

After carefully reviewing the replay for my fastest lap I've decided not to enter that one. I'm not sure, but I think that at one point there are 3 tyres on the grass and only one on the track. The next fastest lap I've done (that I'm certain is totally legal) is only 7 1/100ths of a second slower tough, so It's not a huge problem. Anyway, I'm submitting now, got scunnered with it. Will be seeing Skylines in my sleep for days ;)

Good luck people!

You just lost 4 spots (it's mighty competitive this week) :dopey:

Sure.. just took off the VCD, set TCS to 2, LSD looks like 5/5, 5/39, 19/15. Oh, changed the springs a little bit which helped some.. 8.5/9.8. I'm thinking about playing with the weight distribution and ballast settings as well -- the front end seems floaty no matter what I do with the suspension, so maybe I can fix something there..

Are both ASM's at 0?

thanks by the way 👍

Och, I'm not really that bothered. I've enjoyed this first week, I'd like to finish in the points, but we'll have to see what happens.

Okay, s***w the NUR :P

I run faster in my beloved Purple People Eater no matter what. I bought a new NUR '02 (OUCH! What an awful tradein value on the 'old on'), redid the HP adjustments, set everything to how Z originally posted and ran a consistent .5 seconds slower than my MNP with *NO* settings. In fact, I can partially skid through the S-curve in my MNP and maintain a damned good speed.

After 5 minutes of getting back in my beloved purple baby, I ran a better lap and I still haven't put the original suspension in ... I think I can break into the 58's with THIS car, no way in hell with that other poo.

T1: 30.868
T2: 59.159
