I just mix 'n match the stuff to get 500. Not sure whats on it tbh, i just buy it all then mix n match. But i dont have any engine mods apart from chip, that way i can take it all off again.

leaderboard updated

Well .. what a week. First fired my Crew Chief for a screwed up run at "The Ring", then finally fired my Acquisitions Manager for not buying the right '00 GT-R this week. I went back and relooked at my notes from races past (GT3 favo Skyline) and found out he bought the non V-Spec version.

NISSAN Skyline GT-R V-Spec II '00, 500 HP

T1 31.554
T2 59.554

OOO is that a pink helmet in the car I see in front of me :P There is time I can make up also.

Perhaps you should try the car I and most of the people near or at the top are using?

I assume you're referring to the R34 GT-R V-Spec II Nür '02?

Thx-

EDIT Just saw previous post #281 which does indicate this is the most popular car so far...

I have my driving aides at 0,4,1 and followed almost to the tee (T?) Z's first settings post....brakes are at 8 and 15 respectively

Do you recall what page or post that was by chance as I've tried to find it but must be going blind now as I'm not having any luck...

Thx-

Hm.. whatever I'm doing is working great!

T1: 30.080
T2: 57.421 (lost time here.. got excited or something).

I'm loving this new '02 V-Spec Nur! I've hardly messed with the suspension! But a little bit to make it a bit lower and stiffer... And then camber adjustments, otherwise, dampers are still where they were, sways are where they were, toe settings are where they were...

And Small_fryz, I see what you mean, I went ahead and got the other engine stuff done, but I think I like my lower max hp, but MUCH more torque(and area underneath it) that comes along with the changes I made AFTER I made this run:
T1 30.651
T2 58.687

So yes, with my little bit of changing(power/trq band and gear ratios and which gear to take which turns in...), and then the just normal line improvements, I think I should be able to pull out a good half a second overall if not more without tooo much trouble. this lap was only .3 seconds faster than my previous best, I did the third sector REAL well on that one lap I guess... But yeah, I'll be back with more. w00t!

Oh dear. I didn't think my times would hold up for long, but I'll fight back for sure.
Did a few drink-driving laps late last night and managed to improve my lap time but my T2 went up by 3 tenths. :boggled:

One thing I did notice just before switching off last night - I bought the "increase body rigidity" upgrade and cornering ability seemed to improve dramatically, so I'll give it a few more laps tonight and hopefully get a little improvement.

Incidentally, in what gear are you taking the R-L-R-L before T1? I've been taking it almost all in 4th and keeping the revs low. Is that a ridiculous idea? I think I'm losing some acceleration but I seem to carry more speed through the turns - even the first two...

Finally got my wheel fixed.. BUT - I'll have to skip this, and next week, as there's qualifying for the Danish GT4 Championship on the 28th.. - I'll probably get my arse kicked good and solid, but I'll give it a go...

I'll keep an eye on you guys, but don't expect too many useful posts from my side ;)

Btw.. Did I mention that the Finals are in Paris - Sure am glad I took those french lessons over winter

Btw.. Did I mention the trip to Paris is an all included trip - Food, transport, hotel etc. ?...

Ran my first test session last night with the V-Spec II Nur, sector times are a little slow at the moment but improvement will be forthcoming :sly:

T1 - 0:30.9xx
T2 - 0:58.8xx

Down a little on horsepower, about 481bhp, I'll have to do some serious testing this weekend.

Looking forward to my first WRS time submission!

Good luck Flerbizky, win that trip for all of us!👍 If you meet any nice people at the event, point them in the direction of the WRS.:)

Seems like everyone has been doing alot of buying and tuning this week...hope everyone's enjoying themselves. If I get a minute I'm going to run some laps in one of the old 1970's Skylines just for fun, results be damned.:D But I have to finish my 24 hour A-spec race at the Nurburgring first. Only 18.5 hours to go.

Gave it a go this morning. Did approximately 20 laps, with the R34 GT-R V-Spec N1 II '00. I didn't do much tuning yet, I was still experimenting in order to find what vehicle I should use.

I will probably end up using the "popular" one :D

Best T2 I could get so far was 1'00.xxx

More to come later.

The Wizard.

Well, i just bought a DFP today, should be with me by tuesday/wednesday which will be nice :D
On the bad hand, i finaly did a good lap yesterday & pulled down all3 splits, then hit [] instead of X and lost the hotlap! :( GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

To small_fryz, and/or whoever is running the AWESOME leaderboard(thanks!), I was in the '02 Vspec2 Nur for that lap, and will be for the rest of this week's race.

Its all updated!

All the credit goes to luxy for the leaderboard, i just help him update it. As when he is sleeping im awake (plus you lot decide to run up to 100 posts per day :grumpy: ) so works in well.

erm....

I think i may need to improve.
Judging by Z.

Well, here's what a new car, and 2 o'clock in the morning can bring you:

T1: 30.303
T2: 57.374

I can go faster in both areas, in fact round the whole course, but i was too tired last nite.

See you all in three days.

Humph. :grumpy:

I see the leaderboard has the car details on it too, so i am now mostly using the GT-R Vspec II Nur 02 is it? you know, the one thats too big, but likes to oversteer.

...i scrapped my stupid (white/carbon) skyline and got the V-Spec Nur...QUOTE]

Hey, i did the same. Didn't quite improve my time very much.

31.401
59.726

I haven't really touched the settings yet, maybe i'll see a 58:xx by the end of the weekend.

Still can't make up my mind which skyline to have. Fastest lap i've managed so far was with a '97 gt-r, but the car was all over the place on the track.

I reckon that's a very good time with that car ... you should be able to improve with the NUR ones ... either or should improve your times I think ... 👍

w00t!

I jumped on the N1 bandwagon and got myself a GT-R V-spec II N1 '00. Tuned it to 500bhp (Racing exhaust, Stage 2 turbo and Racing intercooler), turned the driving aids off and downforce up. I left the standard LSD on after reading a few posts about it to try it out and got in for a few laps to see what the fuss was about. Within 2 laps I had smashed my previous best time in the GTS-t M by well over a second. Then within the next 10 laps I consistently took tenths off per lap. My current fastest lap is very nearly 3 seconds faster than my fastest lap with the GTS-t M. Current best splits are:

30.573
58.214

I reckon there's probably another 2 to 3 tenths to come over the lap too.

What can I say? Well, to the other folks driving the GTS-t, you might want to give this N1 a shot.

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
I need to find some time to do this race. 2 days of no action, plus I have to work 11 hours today. I'll be at the bottom of the leaderboard at this rate. I do however have an open weekend.

Some incredible times up there. I'm only envious.

I guess I'll consider this week my warm up as I have been so busy that I had to do my qualifyer in like 2 hours last night and since I am a noob here on how things are run and I'm on limited time I forgot to change the oil in my skyline, so I only wonder how far I"ll plummet already. But once this week is over (TGIFF!!) I'll be able to actually put some time into these races. But I am pleased with being about half way up Division 2 with my BMW run. Well, here's to next week everyone!

Here's a trace from the data logger (thanks to CFM for giving permission) showing the GTS-t M (blue) against the R34 N1 (red). As you can see, the N1 seems to be able to brake later than the GTS and can carry so much more speed through the corners.

I'm no longer improving my times so I've finished and submitted. Times run are the same as already listed on the leaderboard.

Good luck for the rest of the week everybody.

Just bought a DF PRO!

Walked into my local PC world, looking for something else and literally fell over three hidden under a shelf.
Bought one, set it up, now having to get used to the 900 degree mode.......
WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

IT's more precice, less noisy/clunky and better pedels!

If you live in the UK and like me couldn't get one at ANY games store, or even the logitech website (they are always out of stock) Try PC World, £99.99!

Nice one neil!! thats 2 uk'ers today getting a DFPro!!! :D I'll have mine from ebay by tuesday! or tomorrow if he lets me pick it up!! :D woooohoooo

I really wanted to use the R35 Coupe right through to the end of the week, if for no other reason than to be different; but after 48 hours with no improvements (certainly not due to lack of track time) I can't help but think there's got to be a good reason why almost everyone else is using an R34 GT-R of some kind. I give in ... I'm off to buy a proper skyline! :D

I think you hopped on the wrong bandwagon... I was driving a '99 version of that car, which I found to be better for some reason than the '00 version, and I switched to the brand new, Vspec2 Nur, and it acts like it has bigger tires, more grip for braking and handling... You'll like it more...

I gave the Nur a shot earlier on but I just don't think it suits my [lack of] driving style. For me, it felt quite heavy in comparison to the '00 N1. The mid-range acceleration seemed to be worse and the turn-in wasn't too good for me either. I suppose it's all about personal style and finding something that suits you.

I've taken a couple of tenths off my first two sectors now, but I lost out a bit towards the end of the lap.
