I used the 'tranny trick' but I didn't adjust the individual gears, just the final one. If you don't know how just ask! Wow, I'm 2 seconds off the mark here? This is pretty serious racing every week. Very nice indeed. But then again we could drive very different ways, who knows..lol. What do you prefer tighter suspension or looser? I've been goin back and forth and usually I prefer a little looser suspension, except for this lap I went with a little tougher suspension. And I ran out of time to really play with the limited slip, so I just threw it at 50 and went with it. But it is not only a very 'pretty' car but handles real well. Nice choice!

So what are these divisions everyone says they are apart of? Is that a ranking system where div1 is the best and there are like 10 racers in it, then b is the second best...etc.? Sorry for the blatent noobie ? and such.

jump_ace
Have you done the qualifier? M3 @ Infineon. You get assigned to a division after you have done that. You aren't eligible to race in the WRS without doing the qualifier.

Yup, you've got it.

Have a look through these threads if you're curious ...

GT4 Weekly Race Series Registaration/Qualifier Race

WRS Rules & Registered Drivers List

When you did the qualifier and registered, CFM should have told you which division you're running in. (If you haven't done the qualifier, you'll need to before the end of the week, or else your time won't be eligible :) )

The torrent of replies you got were soon buried under several other pages of posts ... you'll get used to it, but you have to try and remember where about you were in several threads so you can dig back through to the page where you left off and then carry on reading forward ... or something. Everyone has their way, I'm sure.

Anyway, this is the page you're looking for!

@jump_ace
No idea about suspension ... "tight" ... "loose" ... I think it really depends on the track for me, because I don't mind something that's a little loose any more than the battleship I'm driving right now and it's tendency to be too damn tight.

I think it was less your suspension settings and more the LSD and some of the other settings ... a little aggressive for my tastes.

And you should run the qualifier man and get your ass into a division (you can do that and hand in that time *AND* this weeks race time both together just before the deadline).

thank you

Not having a problem here ... if anything my turning is very slight, even in 900 degree mode. Now last week, at the ring, there are several points where my arms dislocated as they wrapped around eachother ... but this track ... nah ...

Nat, I love you. I laugh at half the posts you put up. It's like you know how to entertain me.

Aside from that, I should have known better then to buy a used car. Darned starter went bad. There goes some track time. I guess that explains why I'm slow right now.

J/K. My fiancee's starter on her car went bad. I'll run some laps tonight.

BTW, you guys are fast.

I'm way funnier virtually than in real life ... here .. in the real world ... I have to rely on my funny accent to provide entertainment :P

And yeah, some of these guys are freaky fast ... I have a suspicion that this week we're going to see the top ten separated by just a few tenths of a second.

Again, thx for the info Kolyana! You Rock *MAN*....lol......well it was funny to me...

This week wouldn't have been crazy, but it is, because of all the tuning and selection... Argh... Maybe I'll just stick in my 99 and not try to tune it at all, because it's doing decent, even though my 91 blasts past it on the straights...

What are you guys using for a view?

And I might try out the 87 GTS-R... If I can find it... Off to work for now though... Won't play anymore until tomorrow...

I always use bumper cam ... not only does it feel more realistic, but I just can't get used to roofcam or chase view (chase view actually makes me feel sick and I can't pplay it using the wheel, and the DS2 sucks - coming from an xbox gal).

Oddly enough, I was running ina race the other day and accidentally hit 'practice', upon exiting very quickly and mashing the keys to get into the race (at the back of the pack), I was looking through a COCKPIT view.

I didn't even realize until after I had exited out again thinking something funny was going on ... THEN I realized what I had just been looking at.

I know that cockpit view can be accessed in photomode, but I have no idea how I did it for an actual bloody race ... I swear to god though, there it was (looked pretty darn nifty).

nice cockpit view in the skyline!? I use the hood/roof view~

my pit crew has been slacking this race weekend... So i gave them all a *****ing and they did some tinkering... So im gonna go out on track hopefully to improve... haha hope they dont try to kill me for *****ing at them by not tightening a lug nut haahahaah

i might switch over to the V-Spec Nur every1's been using

im wayyyy off pace :(

I use the bumper cam. In GT1, GT2, and part of GT3, I used the chase cam. As well as the controller. I ruled on the controller. Then I switched to the DFP. Hell, I probably still rule on the controller. But I don't want to drive on it anymore.

I drive in kiddy view :dopey: ( behind car ) since GT1 .. I cant seem to change it! .. and the missus she drives roof cam view and she also drives me up the wall :sly: :D

Outside car is what I use 👍. I don't think I could ever change and why not look at the cars while racing :sly:.

using now the GT-r Vsec II nur
T1-30.452
T2-58.234

only adjusted a little bit of the suspension
still a lot of work to do:)

I love to use bumper, nothing betetr imho, used to use chase in GT1 & GT2, and when i picked up bumper in GT3 i also picked up my game a LOT! I will occasioanlly use chase for rallying, for some reason, just helps with drifting in long harsh corners sometimes!

i use bumper since GT1.
for the first times i used to use chase with automatic gears.
then i started to use manual and the bumper view.
this may look stupid but when i'm using the bumper view i can fill the car, the way he turns, if he starts to slide, etc...;)

GT4 WRS Week 7: "Skyline Fanboyz"
I've just noticed that the title is sexist. There seems to be a few Skyline Fangirlz in the WRS this week.

I played in chase view in GT3. When I got my DFP, I switched over to bumper-cam. Bumper-cam with the DS2 made/makes/will always make me want to hurl. Chase view with the DFP makes my eyes and head hurt ... I can't quite peg what it is that's off ... the car seems to turn from the wrong place.

I can't play GT4 with a DS2 at all, I'm completely useless at it

GT3 i use to use bumper cam
GT4 bumper cam i dont like the braking effect of the car's front dipping

i scrapped my stupid (white/carbon) skyline and got the V-Spec Nur

on my first lap i improved by a whole second, everything was left alone except for ride height and brakes

so i guess it wasnt my pit crew's fault :D

t1 - 30.355
t2 - 57.842

YOu want something to actually make you hurl? Play Destruction Derby 2 on bumper cam. And then fly out of control off a jump. Talk about a sickening view. I'm getting dizzy just thinking about it. :indiff:

Just took the Purple Passion Wagon around the track as a warm up for some adjustments and noticed that everything felt ... *off* ... turns out that GT4 reset some of my settings for me for some bizarre reason. Put everything back how it should be - stock suspension, stock transmission - and went for another warmup before I started making adjustments:

T1: 31.315
T2: 59.552

Going to start playing with settings now, although I'm curious why the addition of an original suspension - stock settings - would throw my handling off so much; could it be that the defaults suck and I'm going to spend an inordinate amount of time just trying to get back to this point?

I'm seriously thinking about running with a stock suspension here :P

Two things that guarantee hurling:
1. Watching home videos. Many, many people need to learn the wonders of a Tripod.
2. "Ride the Movie" rides at theme parks ... there was a James Bond ride at Canada's Wonderland, theatre sized screen, onboard camera on a motorcycle, and chairs that moved around "simulating" being on the motorcycle .... :scared:

i use roof cam, has all the "feeling" of bumper cam, but i can also see far ahead, and the apexes bettre
