I was getting excited. I put race tires on and on the first lap I hit a 30.~ T1.
I knew it was too good to be true. DAMN!

Oh, when coming out of the corners the back end has a slight tendency to fish tail (or can, if I'm not careful). How can I dial that out using the LSD?

Try bumping the LSD Accel up for the rear.

Kolyana, nice times! Wanna pm me your settings? I am curious as to how you like your cars, since my 'usual' settings are 'gressive...lol.

Ran a few more laps and got a slight improvement at last:

30.286
57.835

Ran a bit wide on a few corners, so I can see some potential for improvement - whether or not I can pull it off is another matter... :scared:

Oh, and I'm running with VCD "off" and TCS at 2 as well.

@Z
Up eh? Okay. I thought it was that, but I confused myself regarding the whole thing.

@Jump_Ace
Well, to be honest, I'm *still* not running with a suspension, so there are no ride height adjustments, no springs, camber or anything else ... this is the pure, stock, what you get with the car, suspension ... so this limits the number of "settings" somewhat :P

Everything else is *STOCK*, except for wing and Transmission. Wing is max, and the Transmission "tranny trick" has the final set to 3.850 ... and it's just perfect.

That's it ... my entire car is pretty much STOCK. I'm going to add the suspension over the weekend and see if I can get it to help at all.

Oh, and all AIDS are off.

i may aswell give my setup out seing as how i have the best splits on luxys database so far, so this is what i did with some help which i credit to fryzy.

car: nur 02' M-spec tuned to 499bhp by buying intercooler, exhaust, and turbo 2

SETTINGS
s.rate 8.8/10.4
r.height 91/95
rest of suspension stock

B.B 3/3
DF full
No LSD or VCD
NO aids
auto at 9 (tranny)

and a quick description of lap
brake just after third sign on left, take corner in third, take next right in fourth, then next left in third to flick car to the left, then floor it in the right left combo, hit T1, brake for next right (not sure of braking point though, only played this combo for an hour yesterday), take it in third, for next left, shift down to third, and then change to 4th midway through next linking right, hit T2, brake down to third, or second, not sure, for next right, then last corner, brake down to 3rd, and take it nice and smoothely for maximum drive. hope that helps.

i've had T1's of 29.821 and T2's of 56.8xx,

holl01
s.rate 8.8/10.4
r.height 91/95

I believe these settings to be what I was looking for to make the car feel not so sloppy in the middle of a turn. Now, if I could only improve on my ghost lap. Thank you for posting these!

:banghead: :banghead:

I am the world's worst tuner (or the world's worst driver). I hate tuning cars 'cause I have no idea what I'm doing. I will never understand LSD. I usually don't buy them. This is why I like to buy race cars due to the fact that they are already tuned

I did manage to improve by .9 secs overall.

T1 0:31.254
T2 0:59.598

I know I'm losing time in the hairpins. That's my weakest point. Does anyone have pointers?

For the final hairpin, actually don't follow it ... 'go long', slow right down and turn around for a sling-shot effect ... just be sure to hit the apex. In my experience, the net result is faster by far.

I am still trying to come up with the perfect line for me for the last turn.

So far the quickest I have been through there is to come in rather hard, slow down a bunch turn the car and accelerate out with high speed

I hate to throw a damper on the race here, but just noticed something of concern. I've got the Nur @ 492HP all nice and legal right? Says something like 486HP when you enlarge the graph in settings.

Well I just ran a nice lap, and wanted to photo mode it to make sure the lap was legal. No probs eh? Went into replay theater got the ghost and started it. There on the screen big as life, it said 462HP!! :grumpy:
Now I'm thinkin' what the hell???? So I got my 505HP non legal Nur ran a lap, ghosted it and it said 487HP.

So. What the hell!!! How is horsepower to be verified this week? This is a spec horspower race after all. To me it looks like I could run an extra 30HP and still have a legal ghost.
Has anyone else noticed this?
Does anyone else think that the PD HP ratings are a crock? I mean how many HP ratings do you need anyway? ONE WOULD BE NICE!!! 👎 👎 👎 to PD (Perfect Dumb****s)

PD now stands for Power Deviations

Ok, using holl's car and the majority of his settings, I just did:

T1 - 29.902
T2 - 57.318

I finally got under my goal, now I have to set another one :)

I do know however I lost .1 or .2 on the second to last turn... :scared:

This is in the GTR M Spec Nurb '02...go buy it. Higher corner speed.

That is the number we are going by, and that is the number that I switched over to, stage one turbo, with EVERYTHING installed, it has more torque than the other way that gets you to 500 hp flat I think. Should say 483lb-ft(or 482) in the graph that says 486hp. With what I was running for closer to 500ish hp in my '99 N1, I only had 460lb-ftish...

But the top guys, are running without anything except for racing intercooler, racing exhaust, and stage2 turbo(I think?) I haven't tried that setup yet.
No LSD or VCD
Glad someone was listening... :sly: Lol.

I'm away from a PS2 at the moment, will get back to one in time to chop off something like .5-1 full second off of my lap time... I'm very confident I can chop off a second off of my lap time.

FWIW, my suspension settings, I think were all stock as well, except I was running 92/92 ride height and something around 10/12.4 springs. I'll play around with it a bit more when I get back to it, those were just quick changes to get it lowered and stiffened so it's not so floppy, and is more nimble. I can't imagine what it'd be like to drive on a real street though... :)

Leaderboard Updated! I should put the link im my sig so i dont have to type it all the time!
Yeah, I was going to suggest that last week, but I thought there might be a reason for you to not have it there, and that's why it wasn't there already... But now it is! (I already decided to bookmark it on my toolbar anyway, hehe, thanks!)

Wow, that's close. Just improved upon my previous lap as well.

T1: 30.116
T2: 57.200

Shaved a little over .1 at the line.

Edit: I'm using holl's car, now. Retained my own settings for the most part, though.
Edit 2: Nice T1, kenny!

Thanks, great times yourself Z!

We are neck and neck it seems.

I just had a T2 of 57.112 but the lap was just ever so slightly dirty :(
It's SO hard to recreate these great laps! lol

Just for my input, i'm getting round the final corner at 40~ to the middle then powering out letting the back end swing out so i leave the corner at about 60~ mph, seems to be working out ok just need to work on hooking up the 2 S-bends at corners 2& 3 & 4&5!

I'm so nowhere this week :yuck: only done about 20 laps though, and hopefully will have time tomorrow night to give it my full attention...

Switched to the V Spec Nur '02...

T1 - 31.324
T2 - 59.475

T1 29.714
T2 56.781

thats just about as good as i can do for now, wiped off .5 secs at the line. using same setup. i absolutely nailed T1, little unstable in T2 though, and T3 was pretty good, but not spectacular, but i reached a milestone time, so it'll have to do for this week.

I run a few more laps this morning with the R34 GT-R V-Spec II Nür '02.

Here are my splits:

T1: 0'31.040
T2: 0'59.177

Lots of room for improvement. I haven't touched the suspension, yet.

MinorShunt raises a good point here.
Being the power shown on the Replay screen the only way available for us to check what kind of power the vehicle "had" when the lap was run (even if the power shown, as explained earlier, is the power the vehicle "would have", once the engine is completely, permanently damaged @ 8500 miles), how do we tell if the racer in question did not break the rule of 500HP max?

500HP max in the big graph corresponds to a way lower value in the Replay screen (approximately 475, if my 5% guess of power loss is correct).

Therefore, would the laps whose Replays show a power value higher than ~475HP be declared illegal?

The Wizard.
