GT4 WRS Week 82: "Get out your Kei car car keys!"

Knocked off .26X after another 20 laps. It was in the last sector so theres not much improvement with sector times. I still think i can get more time off my lap though, with my fastest lap so far my speed dropped to 93kmh on the last corner...but i have been able to keep my speed above 97kmh on that corner, so maybe another .1/.2 left in it for me.

It's funny, everytime I think im at my limit I keep finding areas where I can improve.

I forgot to reply to this! Minis are NOTHING like a little roundy roundy car! Minis are the most awesome cars in the world! 👍 They only have round headlights, what's roundy roundy about that? :)

Hugo, I assume you are holding 4th gear for the hold track. Can you give me a figure what your slowest speed is on the left turn after T1... I am just having issues finding a good line and a good speed.

Just had a few laps in the 45s, but then did a lap far better than the previous ones (sorta):

No, I shift back to 3rd before the corner after T1. I can check my slowest speed tomorrow, but at the righthander before T1 I'm going 130 km/h at the clipping point. From there on I try to go to the right as much as possible and brake just before T1. Try to take the lefthander as fast as possible, but make sure you don't have to steer back to the left at the end of the turn, because of the easy righthander that follows. So turn in late for the lefthander, hit the apex and make sure you can drive straight out until the easy righthander. This way you carry more speed through the part until the corner after T2.

Makes perfect sense. I was trying to avoid a downshift at the T1 turn, but seems its better to shift if the alien is doing it.

This should help alot as I was trying to hold too much speed into the corner and going wide exiting it. Just gotta get over to the right more for the entry, as I am about in the middle of the road when I start braking, and the car does like too much brake when switching turns.
 
I have a small chunk of time to run this. Is the Capp the best car? I know I should test out the lot but I just don't have the time this week. Can someone give advice?
 
Yep the little Suzuki is the way to go it appears, make sure you take the EA21R '95... it's the beast this week 👍

You'll get there, just remember...it's fourth gear almost everywhere except the corner after T1
 
Yep! Welcome to the party Jake! And it's not "almost everywhere", it IS 4th EVERYWHERE except for when you hit the brakes for the turn after T1. And make sure you shift out of 3rd around, or just after 7000rpm. 👍

submitted. seen lower t2's of course but last section in particular the last corner is the critical, and on this lap it was done correctly, hit the line at 140+ km/h, which was a good sign of how well the last corner was taken. dfp was used.

Almost I think, check my sig to find a link to all of the series running on GTP right now.
And i'm going to send in my time because I tried the staying in 4th and it's fast
but I just can't beat my first run. Still not a bad car with N tires on it:).
 
Well I couldn't cope with myself sticking out like a sore thumb so here are my new splits, beat my old lap by .7 as well :crazy:

T1: 0`24.018
T2: 0`44.243

And an okay finish 👍
 
in my hunt for improvement i decided to give the MT a try.
guess what happens? even when in options i change the transmission, it just goes on shifting while racing ! WTF?
now all i can do is keep it in its current gear, but who needs a sore right middle finger for that LMAO?
if anyone knows what to do please leave a post. thanks!
 
Well, there are two places where to choose transmission type - general options (sets the default) and car settings (overrides the default)
