GT4 WRS Week 91: "Time to Nurburg it up!"

Dont bother posting these to the leaderboard because i'm pretty sure it's dirty before T9.

T3: 1'56.920
T6: 4'07.400
T9: 6'12.739

Trying to duplicate that now.

ps. i just double checked the replay and there's about an inch of what would be the third tire off, still on the rumble. I'm assuming that would be counted as off. still i saved the replay.

Definately a great video if you can find it...
Pat saved it to his DVR the other day, and I watched it thurs night, definitely awesome! And seriously! 16 Euros!!! Someone get me over there and let me borrow their car, NOW! With all that talk of how many times it takes people to learn the track in real life, I wonder just how long it'd take us? :)
Everytime I get some decent splits I manage to find a new way to mess up a lap. I get caught out by a corner that I never messed up before.
Ahhh, the signs of being faster than before... 👍 Personally, I haven't touched this combo since the first day I did. I'll get some good time in Monday night before I submit.

If you have two or more tires ON or INSIDE the rumble, it's clean. The rumbles and all tarmac areas are considered usable track.

So long as any part of that tyre is still touching (or vertically in line with) the rumble, it's ok.

If it's that close though, keep trying to go faster and cleaner. 👍

I'm still struggling to match my dirty T9 time (6'04.713). I am having the same problem as CRXnut, always finding a new place to stuff up...

I have been having this problem too, but I finaly got a lap time I'm happy with:).

T3-1:55:587
T6-4:04:336
T9-6:06:708

I will try one more time tomorrow. And a leaderboard update too:).

Finally the time I'm satisfied with...
I would need probably another week to put one clean lap that is faster than this one.

T3 - 1:54,970
T6 - 4:02,106
T9 - 6:02,818
Time Submitted

👍 👍 👍

Way to go man! Very nice. I don't think I'll have the time to sneak up to that pace, but wow, definitely a good lap there. How was the finish? :)

Great splits Fizio.

Top 3 places to mess up (for me)

3. second lefthander after T3
2. left turn after T4 (or the righander right after that :-)
1. double left just before T6

Edit: ARRRRGGGGH ! Just ruined a 4'03.7 run on the straight !!! (around T9)

Have ran a few laps myself, for a little light relief from the JGTC qualifying 'hell' that Eats has created. No creditable splits yet, but will be putting in a showing this week. (RL permitting)

Good to see you've not forgotten us mate. :sly:

Some first attempt splits from me...

T3 1'58.916
T6 4'10.722
T9 6'15.955

Off for another go in a bit, should improve quite a bit I hope. :nervous:

Darren.

BTW...Instead of linking the leaderboard into the first post or someone's sig, why not just bookmark it? Saves searching for someone with it in their sig or going all the way back to the first post?

Well I tried this again, and I got a time I'm happy about so I will send it in. Here's what I got:mischievous:.

T3-1:55:263
T6-4:03:080
T9-6:04:876

I know there is more time left, but like Fizio I'm not going to get it before the deadline.
And here is another leader board update:).

*(to all driver's, if you can please add what div you are in and controller you use in your sig. Thankyou:))

Seriously. Ever since you grabbed that DFP, it's been nutz! :) Haha. I'm going to be pissed if you manage to beat me this week though, seriously. :P

Well it took a copious amount of time but i finally reached my limit. I was aiming to match my fastest T9 time which was dirty (6'04.713) and ended up beating by a lot more than I thought I could.

T3 - 1'55.167
T6 - 4'03.158
T9 - 6'03.844

I checked this lap 3 times just to make sure it was clean, and it is. I am almost positive I won't be able to beat this time.

Nicely done guys. I just found out I don't have to go into work for a couple more hours, so I'mma get over to my house and start playing I think! :)

Nice work inferno! 👍

When you only had me by a few seconds at T9 I was still trying, but there's no way I'm going to be able to shave off 10 seconds over and above that.

Normally the complexities of tuning drive me nuts, but this is one case where I wish I could make some suspension tweaks.

i gave this a quick go:

T3 - 0'54,951
T6 - 4'02,859
T9 - 6'03,614

lost a second between T6 and T4 :D

DFP and Div.1
time submitted

For those of you wanting to know the correct line, here is a real life video up until almost T8 where the video camera comes off of it's mount due to all the shaking about up to that point. Video is in an M5 with the ringmeister herself.
Herself you say? YES, the ringmeister is a woman! Sabine Schmitz to be exact. She drives a taxi around Nurb for a living and is an accomplished race driver. She thinks she has circled the the track almost 20,000 times!
Enjoy: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2676138596839526717&q="sabine+schmitz"

All due respect to Sabine. I've never ridden with her, but I've seen her in action on several occassions. She can flat out drive! That being said, the lap in that video is somewhat recreational, since customers are involved, they're not wearing safety gear, & the general public is on the track.

For a look at a competitive lap, check this out: http://www.greend.com/m3_gtr_nurburgring.wmv.
It's Hans Stuck doing a qualifying lap for the 24hr race in a BMW M3 GTR, so the first 1'30 is on the GP track. This guy knows the Nordschliefe as well as anyone!

I spent some time awhile back trying to duplicate his lap in GT4. I think I managed to get pretty close on the splits. Granted I didn't have to deal with the traffic he did, although he didn't seem to have much trouble with that anyway. Replay attached for any NTSC types interested. (Sorry PALs. :sly:)

No more time to run this, submitting time now.

Great combo! I really enjoyed this one 👍

Fresh splits (and the final time submitted; "24" will be on before I could get another lap in) -

T3 - 1:56.225
T6 - 4:05.727
T9 - 6:07.960

Gah. Why is it that I am always really busy the weeks when its either A) The Nurburgring, or B) Incredibly fun/popular. But, guess I should get used to 25 hours working on architecture projects on just Saturday & Sunday alone.

Finally managed to get at least a bit under my goals for all three split times in the same lap. :)
T3 1'58.443
T6 4'09.136
T9 6'14.689

Don't know if I can find the 3 seconds or more I need to catch inferno, but I don't have to be up in the morning so I might be up all night trying. :sly:

:)

Less than 5 hours! Here I go! I want to go to bed at a decent time tonight too, oh well, I doubt that'll happen.

Good luck to those still running! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
