The battle for div2 podium will be tough at New York

Not expecting to get near the top three, but really want to do better than last week :( To be fair, I didn't have any time [SARCASM] what with this amazingly busy lifestyle I lead [/SARCASM] , but neither did (our current Division 2 leader) VEXD and yet he managed a respectable time, when I was WAY off the pace... I reckon you need to put in atleast three sessions of between 1 and 2 hours each to get a podium in Div 2... (or is that just me...?) God knows how much time those D1 drivers are putting in... I dread to think... in the two weeks where I managed to submit a proper time, I spent about 4 hours in total on each... is this normal?

flat-out
BTW, I know I promised you a logo for your board, I'm just short of time since a few days.

I could do one fairly easily for you. I've got the free time to do it at school. lol We got Photoshop CS and Illustrator CS and I know how to use each fairly well (look at my sweet avatar, all done in Illustrator with the pen tool!). Just let me know what you want it to look like and I'll toss it over to you via PM or DeviantART. :)

I've missed 3 weeks of races so that definetly hurt my points standings so I'm going to force myself to do week 6.

Don't forget the best 6 of 8 weeks, too .. so in the end your missed weeks will not matter at all.

Your last best 6 races are the ones that count for your points, so right now that's ... well ... the last 6 races ... but in a few weeks time you can drop those weeks you didn't race in and take the higher points from those you did.

I think I explain things badly sometimes.

Even if you deside to not run next week, or if you do, once we hit the 7 week mark, (more so 8 week mark) only the best 6 weeks of last 8 weeks will actually count for the WRS points. So if you miss 2 weeks, those would be dropped and the other 6 counted.

EDIT ~ LOL ok as we all posted about the same time.....gah maybe I need to do some work :P NOT

But then others that did race all the weeks get all those points thus pushing me down in the points standings.

But they will also lose the lowest 2 races point wise if they have run 8 weeks, they can still only score the best 6.

Maybe at first you may have a little catch up with 3 weeks out, like to week 9, but sooner or later, the points all will sort of "even out" with the best 6 of 8.

Well I'm a visual person. I still don't get it. :guilty: I can't comprehend anything, I swear.

Blackbrid, look at this example:

Week ... Blackbird .. Kolyana
1 ........ 20 ........ 19
2 ........ 0 .......... 19
3 ........ 0 .......... 19
4 ........ 20 ........ 19
5 ........ 20 ........ 19
6 ........ 20 ........ 19
7 ........ 20 ........ 19
8 ........ 20 ........ 19

So even though I raced all 8 weeks, we only take the TOP SIX, which for you would be SIX WINS and for me six second places .... so you'd have more points.

I'm only 13 so my brain can only comprehend so much. How could I have more points if I hadn't done anything in the past weeks and you had?

Well, imagine running twenty races and then I say to you "giev me your best 3 results" ... your best 3 results might be 3 first places, while MY best 3 results may be just a few 2nd places ... so out of "best three of 20", you'd win.

The leaderboard works by taking your best 6 scores from your last eight weeks ... so if you scored 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 1st, last, last, 1st, 2nd ... would those two "LASTs" actually matter? No .. because you're only looking at the best 6.

Week 1 would be 5th.
2 would be last, didn't partcipate along with 3, and 4. And 5 I don't know yet.

Yeah, but I'm just talking hypothetically ... not ACTUAL points, just using extreme examples to make my point.

If I scored 10 points every week and took my best 6 results from the last 8 races, I'd have 60 points, right?

If you scored 12 points every week, but missed two races, well you'd only have 72 points overall (compared to my 80) ... BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT your best six results would be 6x12 = 72 points, which would beat my 6x10=60ptx.

I'm sure it will all work out one way or another, I'll allow the leaderboard organizers to that. I'll just race and submit my times. :D

And I think I have problems to explain things because I'm not a native speaker :D
Let me put it this way :

ßlackbird, you've only raced race #1 so far, so your scored points for races 1 to 4 are :
16, 0, 0, 0
which makes a total of 16.

Kolyana has raced all races, and her points are :
1, 11, 8, 2
which makes a total of 22 : she's 6 points ahead of you.

Now imagine that you win races 5 to 8, you'd score each time 25 points (div 3 winner), and your scored points for races 1 to 8 would be :
16, 0, 0, 0, 25, 25, 25, 25
which makes a total of 116.

If Kolyana always finishes second in these races, she'd score each time 22 points and her points would be :
1, 11, 8, 2, 22, 22, 22, 22
which makes a total of 110.

But, only the 6 best results are taken into account, so actually your score would be :
25, 25, 25, 25, 16, 0
which still makes a total of 116 (ignored results would be 2 of your zeroes)
and her score :
22, 22, 22, 22, 11, 8
which makes a total of 107 (results 2 and 1 are the smallest ones and would be ignored).

Does it make sense to you ?

If not, well, do as you said, trust me to do the calculation and it'll all become clear to you when we actually have raced enough races.

Now it makes sense thank you. But my only means of a replay is off my digital camera with it's movie feature. So I best not be getting first now.

Yeah =D But we had a few guys get promoted and it was the first time I got onto the podium, which gave me a good chunk of points!

I promise you if there was a combo of Motegi East Short Course and GT Mode SLR McLaren allowing any modifications and tuning I would get for sure in the Top 3. :dopey:
