The S2000 R1 is a production car. And the OP S2000 wasn't actually made for a racing league. It would've been in N1 but it used banned parts.

No Super Taikyu Endurance class? The Spoon S2000 Race Car and Gathers Drider Civic are both Super Taikyu cars, there's probably more too.

Stumble upon this from another thread. Have a few things to note.

-"Group N" is technically right for the Spoon S2000, which raced in the Super Taikyu series in the C-4 (Now ST4) class.
-The Spoon Fit in the game was just a demo car. There was no Japanese Group N class for that kind of car until 2010.
-The R32 Calsonic Skyline is a Group A touring car from the JTCC, which was a different series from JGTC/Super GT. Technically it belongs in the same spot as the Mugen Motul Civic.
-The Gathers Civic is from the Civic One-Make series in Japan.
-Amuse S2000 R1 is also a demo car, used in various time attack events. Same with the Opera S2000, not from an actual race series.

I used this thread last week for my DTM car race and it's awesome to have all these classes in one place, thanx again for this great thread!

I'm sorry, this thread went into hiatus few months back, so I forgot to check for new posts for some time. Now it's time to bring this thread up :)

Thank you, removed from the missing list :)

The Xsara rally car belongs in F2 not WRC as it is the older fwd model.

It was featured on some thread? I'm touched :embarrassed: Thank you for all the info here. All updated 👍:)

HKS CT230R belongs in AWD Unlimited class (for Tsukuba time trials).

I'm trying to minimized the class, so do you mind include it in existing class? If there's note for it, I'll also include them. Thanks 👍:)

This is great information and would be a great sticky in the q/a section. 👍

Thanks for the information.

thank you for the hard work! Really appreciate it! makes my jobl easier!

Thank you :) Glad I could help 💡

P/S : New classes, JTCC and One-Make Series added, so there's some cars needed to be re-class. All helps and info are very much welcome :) Thank you 👍

Very helpful list. Just wondering though, aren't Ferrari F430 and F458 racing sports cars? You mention ALMS as one of the series that run sports car events and those cars are used in both ALMS, European Le Mans, and other GT only events. Unless I missed it, in which case apologies.

EDIT: never mind I neglected to read in the OP that these are all non-street versions and GT5 doesn't offer non-street versions of the Ferraris (unfortunately).

Its not actually a racing car although it is based on a racing car chassis.

Yep, can't put it in a race car category since it's not actually a race car but I find the info on this car to be conflicting in a homogenized way. It's based on the Courage C65 platform (French co.), engineered by Swift Engineering (American based co.) which is owned by Hiro_Matsu****a (Panasonic executive), and built by Mazda lol. I would guess that just the sub frame of the C65 is used?

However, Mazda neither intends to race Furai, nor is it a supercar the company plans to build and sell in the near future. Rather, Furai is a design study that lives between those extremes. Without the restrictions imposed by serial production models, and with the freedom of an autoshow environment, Mazda is using the opportunity to evolve the company's Nagare design theme one more step closer to reality.

Instead of mimicking racecar components and design elements in a road car - the strategy preferred by supercar manufacturers - the 'Mazda way' was to begin this project with the real McCoy: a Courage C65 chassis that earned its stripes during two seasons of LMP-2 endurance racing in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS). This sports car was successfully campaigned under the MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development banner by B-K Motorsports during the 2005 and 2006 seasons. Drivers Jamie Bach, Guy Cosmo, Elliott Forbes-Robinson, and Raphael Matos piloted the car to one victory and a total of nine podium finishes in 15 ALMS events. B-K finished third in championship standings both years; while Bach and Cosmo were co-Rookies of the Year in 2005 after their first season of ALMS racing.

"Anticipating future rules changes in the ALMS, we created a new closed cockpit which would be more appropriate for a future production model," said von Holzhausen. "The major element we did not change is the 450-horsepower RENESIS-based R20B three-rotor rotary engine that provides the Furai's ample Zoom-Zoom. The ultimate Mazda in our minds is rotary powered; as a company, we have no intention of abandoning that valuable asset. When people think of the very best production sports cars in the world, the rotary powered Mazda RX-7 is always on that list."

P Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (C6) RM '09 based on C6-R '09

While visually this makes sense, I think performance is what counts. The ZR1 RM is way beyond GT2. Or even GT1.

The Z06 RM without the Race exhaust is closer to GT2.
