Dude, we have enough of that crap! No more!
God damn....
We should write a damn letter or two to ky explaining that 54 skylins in a game with 728 cars is not appropraite. And having 5 JGTC cars in there that have the exact same specs is not cool! All these GT-R Racers! The Penzoil, Calsonic etc... ALL THE SAME DAMN CAR!

And the Japanese company (Polyphony) will have its Japanese customer service department write you a letter (probably in Japanese), explaing that in Japan, the Japanese consumers very much like the Skyline, But it doesn't stop there, the Skyline is popular in Europe, Asia and Australia also.

GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEAD on a global scale, the Mustang, Camaro and Corvette ARE NOT POPULAR!!! So why would a game, intended for sale on a global level focus on cars that are popular in only one country? In nearly every thread on this forum you have someone that rants on and on about there being too many Skylines and not enough domestics.

Just had an idea... it might help make everyone's life easier if this thread were closed and a new one started every time it hit say, 10 pages (200 posts)...

just a thought. :)

How about this??

Alzen-Motorsport Porsche 996 BiTurbo 4wd.
It has somewhere around 650 HP.
This car competes in the German VLN Series, in the first race this year it managed to get a 18 seconds lead in one lap Nordschleife over the factory BMW M3 GTR.

But it doesn't stop there, the Skyline is popular in Europe, Asia and Australia also.
And New Zealand! We've got the highest population of Skylines after Japan!

Theres a mess up on the list. Theres two cars under Holden called the Streamliner MS8, and the Clubman MS8. Those two cars are not Holdens, they were designed and are powered by Holden, but are Elfin's.

Super Jamie
i also question the lack of rwd R33 skylines in gt4. just one 25t would have been fine, instead of 10 million pointless variations of every gtr

Exactly, another car I am suprised they missed is the Nissan (Sunny) Pulsar GTiR (RNN13).

got a juicy pic of the toyota ts010 also found another few group c cars i would love 2 see on gt5. they are

hope polyphony put these cars in gt5 or i will be very angry!

why won't they just put some motorcycles in it. for example all the ducati senna's and some kawasaki's, and a must have is a tuned hayabusa or a stock doesn't realy matter 👍

02-05 Nissan Altima SE and '05 SER because it has the same engine as the 350Z and produce as much power to the ground as well.

Because this isnt a motorcycle game. Simple.

Koenig Competition Evolution '90

This car was featured in Road & Track's Exotic Car Series magazines in the Fall of 1990. I still have the copy. This car is basically a HEAVILY modified Ferrari Testarossa. The side "cheese graters" are removed so there is just a big air intake on both sides. The rear has a plexiglass cover for the engine and a rear wing. Koenig put twin turbos and a supercharger on the Flat-12 engine with increased cooling and oil capacities. The inside of the car has a button that controls a fire extinguiser in the engine bay "just in case". It also has a knob to contol the boost pressure of the turbos. You can basically dial in the amount of horsepower you want all the way up to 1000BHP!!!! :scared: Top speed is 230MPH. In 1990, the cost for this machine was just south of $600,000!!!! To replace the engine costs $120,000 alone!!! Sorry to ramble on but this car is probably my favorite car of all-time!!!

GET THIS THROUGH YOUR HEAD!
The Ford Mustang has WAYY more heritage than Skylines.
And there are clubs for the Mustang in coutries where they can't even buy them! Or import them!
Oh and not to mentoin MUSCLE cars are the MOST VALUABLE CARS in the world.
a convertable Hemi cuda....
$1.5 million!
Shelby Daytona Coupe (1 of only 5 left, 1 was destroyed during a race)
$5 million!!
Sorry but if KY is DUMB enough to ignor major automotive events like the major auctions.... he needs to be stripped of his title as an enthusiast.....
And KY NEEDS to realize that the game is for more than Japan! It's for the world! So when making the car seletion for each country, goto that country and find out what cars those people love! It wouldn't be hard, hell just come here and look at our lists! And Skylines are not POPULAR in all of asia. They don't exist in any other asian country besides japan.
And Europe? UH granted they do sell them there..... I wouldn't say overly popular.
And the Mustang is a car that has a long and winning racing history.
Oh and I should mention! We americans buy more copies of GT than Japan! And they even get more games to buy! We only get the normal games and not the concepts or prologue versions.....
Oh and be a rude jackass all you want, makes no difference. I can get just as rude.

I'll add another car with more heritage than the Mustang; Corvette. This is a car that has been in production since 1953. Corvette skipped model year 1983, but not calendar year 1983. 1982 cars ran through February 1983 and 1984 cars were sold starting March 1983. It too is a car with a huge following and is America's only true sports car. People around the world gather and celebrate the heritage that is... Corvette.

That's a little hard to claim, but I do see your point. Look at what cars gather a ton of money in the Barrett-Jackson Auto Auctions. Old muscle cars with low mileage and/or the factory plastic still in the car; as in, they were never dealer prepped. I saw an LS6 Chevelle SS for auction on EBay once. It was sitting at $1.2 million, had not reached reserve, and people were actively bidding on it. It eventually went for $2.6 million I believe. What was so special? It had the factory plastic still covering the interior. It was a trophy car bought and kept for years and years. All this for a 1970 Chevrolet. Some people think- big whoop, it's just a Chevy. That's why an old Chevrolet selling for over $2 million is a big deal. The Ferrari spoken about above is nearly a no-brainer- it was a hand built exotic. I would surmise that most any GM car being sold for over $2 million, or the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe being sold for $5 million are more surprising than an old Ferrari GTO being sold for $20 million.

He can be a car enthusiast. He just likes different cars than we like. It's his nationality and heritage speaking to him. I'm glad GT4 included the 1960s GT40 at least. It was Ford's mission to stomp Ferrari after Ferrari wouldn't come to terms for Ford to buy them out. Not many people know that Ford was going to purchase Ferrari either, but there are still a lot of auto enthusiasts.

Agreed. Gran Turismo being sold for the Playstation 2 means that Sony and Polyphony Digital need to successfully market to everyone with access to a PS2. In K.Y's. defense though, he said that he was shocked at how popular the Gran Turismo series has become. Maybe he's just overwhelmed at the vehicle possibilities. Sony Computer Entertainment has offices all over the world. Notice SCEA? Those are the offices in America. SCEE? They're offices in Europe. I'd imagine SCEJ would be offices in Japan.
Yep, the Mustang has been in a lot of racing series'. In the early days it was Trans-Am, doing battle with Camaros, 'Cudas, and Challengers amongst others. Today they're in Grand Am Cup doing battle against BMW, Porsche (Pour-Sha) and the like.

I'm trying not to be rude :D I didn't know that about the purchasing facts but it doesn't surprise me. We're more of an entertainment based culture. They're more of an education and science based culture. Doesn't mean one is wrong or right, they're just different ways of approaching life.

Do you really have a 429 Hemi or are you just a huge fan of it?

i would love to see:

Do you have any proof of this or are you just making this up as you go. Because the Skyline was actually introduced a few before the Mustang so its hard for you to claim is has WAAAAY more heritage than the Skyline

Skyline introduced in 1957
Mustang introduced in 1964

Both cars have been raced since the begining so how does one have more "heritage" than the other? Me thinks someone got caught making stuff up.

The poster before me already proved you wrong.

I assume your refering to the Barrett Jackson auction, which only further shows your inabality to see past whats in front of you. Do you think the BJ auctions are the ultimate say in whats popular? This is a show created by an American, held in America and features quite a few American cars. Don't you think there is something like this in every country?

And KY NEEDS to realize that the game is for more than Japan! It's for the world! So when making the car seletion for each country, goto that country and find out what cars those people love! It wouldn't be hard, hell just come here and look at our lists!

Your exactly right, its a game for the entire world. So wouldn't it make sense to put in cars that are popular around the world not just cars that are popular in one country?

The mustang is ONLY popular in America, you spoke earlier of mustang clubs in other countries but failed to provied any sources or links. Where as the Skyline is very popular in MANY other countries.

If your a game developer and you want to satisify as many people as possible what would you do? Load the game with cars that will appeal to the consumers of one country leaving everyone else playing the game scratching their head wonder whats a 289 Hi-Po. Or B) you can include cars that people all over the world are familar with.

You also make it out to seem like every American is completely in love with American Muscle cars when thats not quite the truth. There are quite a few auto enthusists that prefer Japanese cars over American muscle cars

And Skylines are not POPULAR in all of asia. They don't exist in any other asian country besides japan

The Skyline is quite popular in Australia, Japan, Most of Asia, Britian, Germany, New Zealand and many other countries. This seems like another case of you "assuming" (read: making stuff up).

.
Oh and I should mention! We americans buy more copies of GT than Japan! And they even get more games to buy! We only get the normal games and not the concepts or prologue versions.....

Any you got this information where? the last few things you assumed were quite off base as I can imagine this one is too.

Because this isnt a motorcycle game. Simple.

The term 'Gran Turismo' doesn't exactly evoke images of rally cars drifting through dirt, either; but they are in the game.

Personally I think it would add a cool element to the game if they included 1 or 2 specialty bikes, and perhaps an event on Laguna Seca. I would love to see the corkscrew sideways!

It would be a bit of a problem for them to implement the camera angle and AI interaction between motorcycles (What I mean is that when cars bump, they can predictably stay on the track...when bikes bump they go down)

"Oh and not to mentoin MUSCLE cars are the MOST VALUABLE CARS in the world."

I LOVE muscle cars but part of the whole appeal of them is that they are CHEAP.

Look at the new Ford GT, Carrera GT and the Enzo compared in a recent MT. While all cars were similar in performance (all topped 200), the Ford GT was considerably less money.

Ever hear of the Roadrunner? Nova? Those were super cheap muscle cars back in their prime. Extremely popular because young people could afford them.

By the way, I would like to see the DBR9 that just won it's class in Sebring.

i would like to see more tuners added to the tuner village. signal auto, top secret and jun for example are all amazing tuners. maybe even a few specialty companies such as hamann, brabus and gemballa as well. id also like to see the koenigsegg, Bugatti EB 218, Bugatti EB 18/3 Chiron, Bugatti EB 16/4 Veyron Concept, Bugatti Veyron 16.4, a few production cadillacs (sts and cts-v's) and a few bentleys maybe. the addition of motorcycles would be kinda cool as well as lamborghinis and/or ferraris but i know that wont happen.
