GET THIS THROUGH YOUR HEAD!
The Ford Mustang has WAYY more heritage than Skylines.
And there are clubs for the Mustang in coutries where they can't even buy them! Or import them!
I'll add another car with more heritage than the Mustang; Corvette. This is a car that has been in production since 1953. Corvette skipped model year 1983, but not calendar year 1983. 1982 cars ran through February 1983 and 1984 cars were sold starting March 1983. It too is a car with a huge following and is America's only true sports car. People around the world gather and celebrate the heritage that is... Corvette.

Oh and not to mentoin MUSCLE cars are the MOST VALUABLE CARS in the world.
a convertable Hemi cuda....
$1.5 million!
Shelby Daytona Coupe (1 of only 5 left, 1 was destroyed during a race)
$5 million!!
That's a little hard to claim, but I do see your point. Look at what cars gather a ton of money in the Barrett-Jackson Auto Auctions. Old muscle cars with low mileage and/or the factory plastic still in the car; as in, they were never dealer prepped. I saw an LS6 Chevelle SS for auction on EBay once. It was sitting at $1.2 million, had not reached reserve, and people were actively bidding on it. It eventually went for $2.6 million I believe. What was so special? It had the factory plastic still covering the interior. It was a trophy car bought and kept for years and years. All this for a 1970 Chevrolet. Some people think- big whoop, it's just a Chevy. That's why an old Chevrolet selling for over $2 million is a big deal. The Ferrari spoken about above is nearly a no-brainer- it was a hand built exotic. I would surmise that most any GM car being sold for over $2 million, or the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe being sold for $5 million are more surprising than an old Ferrari GTO being sold for $20 million.

Sorry but if KY is DUMB enough to ignor major automotive events like the major auctions.... he needs to be stripped of his title as an enthusiast.....
He can be a car enthusiast. He just likes different cars than we like. It's his nationality and heritage speaking to him. I'm glad GT4 included the 1960s GT40 at least. It was Ford's mission to stomp Ferrari after Ferrari wouldn't come to terms for Ford to buy them out. Not many people know that Ford was going to purchase Ferrari either, but there are still a lot of auto enthusiasts.

And KY NEEDS to realize that the game is for more than Japan! It's for the world! So when making the car seletion for each country, goto that country and find out what cars those people love! It wouldn't be hard, hell just come here and look at our lists! And Skylines are not POPULAR in all of asia. They don't exist in any other asian country besides japan.
And Europe? UH granted they do sell them there..... I wouldn't say overly popular.
And the Mustang is a car that has a long and winning racing history.
Agreed. Gran Turismo being sold for the Playstation 2 means that Sony and Polyphony Digital need to successfully market to everyone with access to a PS2. In K.Y's. defense though, he said that he was shocked at how popular the Gran Turismo series has become. Maybe he's just overwhelmed at the vehicle possibilities. Sony Computer Entertainment has offices all over the world. Notice SCEA? Those are the offices in America. SCEE? They're offices in Europe. I'd imagine SCEJ would be offices in Japan.
Yep, the Mustang has been in a lot of racing series'. In the early days it was Trans-Am, doing battle with Camaros, 'Cudas, and Challengers amongst others. Today they're in Grand Am Cup doing battle against BMW, Porsche (Pour-Sha) and the like.

Oh and I should mention! We americans buy more copies of GT than Japan! And they even get more games to buy! We only get the normal games and not the concepts or prologue versions.....
Oh and be a rude jackass all you want, makes no difference. I can get just as rude.
I'm trying not to be rude

I didn't know that about the purchasing facts but it doesn't surprise me. We're more of an entertainment based culture. They're more of an education and science based culture. Doesn't mean one is wrong or right, they're just different ways of approaching life.
Do you really have a 429 Hemi or are you just a huge fan of it?
