I think what Sony show will be determined on what Microsoft show of Forza 3 the day before.

Sony won't want to show something that they think is "revolutionary" or a "unique" "feature" if a similar feature is unveiled in Forza.

Sony are probably waiting to see what cars/track/features etc are going to feature in Forza 3 before making a truly final decision on what to show and what to say.

I really don't think Sony cares what Turn10 has come up with in features or cars/tracks by this point. GT5's been in the works for 3+ years now. Whatever Turn10 shows that is "unique" will more than likely have already been previously developed by PD.

You might be right on that one 👍

From what I remember, KY has never cared about other racing games.

The suspense is killing me..., KY isnt concerned about the press or any other game developers. He does his own thing and it's always good however he shows it. It will be purely awesome and this years E3 is going to be the best one so far! Cant wait!

I'm pretty sure that little joke he made was just that...a joke. KY knows what other games are doing, otherwise he wouldn't have a clue as to what the people are looking for.

Sure, KY is making the game he wants to play, but he's also making the game that will make him money. It's safe to say he won't fall in to some of the more trivial pressures, but there are some that he can't ignore if he wants to keep up with the sim racing market.

You can tell he pays attention just by looking at GT5P.
Drift-is popular in basically every racing game.
Performance Points-basically inspired/based on Forza's P.I. setup(this is a good thing btw)

I'm sure he meant he doesn't pay attention to the others like the players in the Superbowl "don't worry about the other guys". It is kind of a way to say that you are not worried about them because you will win anyways.

I want them to show just how good the damage will look. Lots of explosions! And cars rolling over!

WOOT! 1,000TH POST!! :D

I'm quite certain that there are more people than just one man involved in making the game. ;)

It never even crossed my mind before reading your post but what if Forza3 looks better then GT5 running at 60fps with an impressive cockpit view :scared:

Id like to see a porsche crash in to a wall and i would be completely happy

Your life is now complete. :)

No I agree with what your saying, but for me, a screenshot of a new car at a rainy night at Spa would make me extremely happy.

Sorry to go OT, but this video just reminds me of just how much exactly the sounds lack punch in the GT series (though I do think Prologue is a slight improvement). :( Everything just sounds too clean and sterile in the games.

In the past, I would agree with you.

But upon further reflection... I still agree with you.

Kazunori's model of the ideal racer has always been real life motorsports. With the PS3, he finally has the power to realize this dream. Put enough sweat, know-how and inspiration into GT5 with his team, and he should be able to do pretty much whatever he wants to. As long as the car companies go along with it.

3 - 4 years in game terms is a bloody long time.

Bit off topic but don't you love the sound them 911's make from that flat 6? It's music to the ears.

Awsome, as my memory is fading from GT4 release its been that long, this needs to happen this year ^^. About sound, I got this HIFI with AUX in, so I use my scart cable (Audio L&R) or red and white wire pluged into the HIFI and the sound is amazing, it truly is.

This will never happen, but looking back on amars post, where he mensions two verisions of GT5, imagine if one turned out to be an update for prologue that costs, and the other a more expensive new GT5 (with box set). Anyway I know its off topic and extremely unlikely but it was just an idea.
Listening to the 1Up Podcast now, they speculate GT5 and GT Mobile will both be shown and will interact with each other.

For some reason, I have this funny feeling in my stomach that we are going to be surprised in a very big way. I can't convince myself that if PD kept things so quite for all these years, they got be doing it for a good reason.

This is like giggling around the corner at your rival. Your rival have no idea what kind of weapon you have. Kaz is simply giggling in his office at PD and daydreaming of how Forza's 3 developer and GT fans jaw will fall off their face when its finally revealed. He kept it all quite just so we will cause a big stir on the board and go out and spread the news like a nuclear missle.

Since someone mention the popularity of drifting, I would be in a big surprise if PD decided to add the drift tracks from D1, Formula D, and other drift tracks from around the world.

actually, i think the biggest new is the coming of GT: Portable, just because if Gt portable comes it means that GT5 will be there...i dont know where i read it but, i think Kaz planned that GT:P and GT5 will come together, so big news hehe :D

I remember back to when I got my psp 1000, and I could have preoredered GT mobile back then, it looked basically like GT4, and I remember that article you are talking about, I reckon that GT mobile will be GT5, but with mobility, both the games should be able to integrate. Hopefully they both release around the same time, or similtaneously.

Gran Turismo is a racing game and will always be.

Gran Turismo is a car/driving lifestyle game, racing is a part of the whole picture. It's about enjoying cars and all aspects of them.

If you still have GT-HD, listen to the Ferrari 599. It sounds much more aggressive than in Prologue and has a distinctly separate exhaust rasp that is not there in Prologue. I hope the cars will sound much better in GT5.

Let me know what you think if you have a listen. Ta.

Yes, he is waiting for the Tokyo game show in september to reveal everything.

Since Leipzig is canceled, I'm betting that we get a pretty big GT5 announcement. Europe has become a goldmine for Gran Turismo, and I have no doubt that Europe has their internet eyes glued on E3. And you know that SONY has to overwhelm Ms with their Forza 3 and Alan Wake announcements, plus whatever other tricks they have up their sleeve. GT5 would be the blockbuster which pushes the whole SONY conference over the edge into "ZOMG!" hype.

Besides, Amar promised. ;)

Or they might just skip GT5 just show few screen shots, still talk they want damage and weather, and skip to PSP GO version and show 2 hour game play footage.. oi :ouch:

I find it pretty amazing that after all these years developing nothing has leaked, not even when we are pretty close to actual release :)

Good for Sony/PD, bad for us and other developers :D

It's for this reason I'd like to see GT5 sync with the PSP GO!, not for any racing, but buying/selling, tuning car's etc, aspect's that take up much time in Gran Turismo but don't necessarily require you to use a PS3 connected to a large HDTV.
