This is my first post here so hello everyone.
I'm checking news on gtplanet since i've bought GT5:P - over 1,5 year ago.

I've preordered GT5 in july, and been waiting with you guys with fingers crossed :) "just released the game already" :)

In October, my Polish game shop (yes i'm from Poland - Europe) set release date to Nov 3rd, then changed it to xmas 2010. But now it's they say "the game will be send to customers on 29th November 2010"

So i think we're closer then we think to the release !

See you online and welcome to :gtplanet:

:)

Sony needs to wake up and announce the release date.

I am extremely excited about GT5, but all these leaks etc. is kind of killing it for me (and it's not good for sony's pr). I have only watched the intro video because I'm afraid the other vids are going to spoil the whole experience of discovering everything first hand.

Come on Sony. Give us a release date.

I am just saying retailers always gets products two weeks before they release so they can do inventory on them and get them into their internal tracking programs...
That isn't the case in the UK. For example our Game stores don't generally recieve the games until the Wed prior to the Friday release. Now I know the online retailers like Shop to recieve their copies on the Mon or Tues.

According to IGN_UK on their Twitter, the EU Release date has been set for the 26th November while the US are likely to get it on the 27th

Take it easy, was a joke. That IGN_UK twitter date has been posted about 15 times a day and has been discussed and proven fake, it just gets annoying seeing it pop up over and over again.

I have just been informed by a representative of a big retail shop in Greece, through a phone call , that my preorder (GT5 Collector's Edition) will be received at late December!!! This is the last info they have from SONY :grumpy: :ouch: However i forgot to ask when was that last info taken?? Anyway...

I cant understand what's going on with Sony...this is ridiculous....what are they waiting for?

Give is a release date !!!!:irked:

I want to go on with my life!!!

Um perhaps their going to tell us the release date at the launch party perhaps.
When ever that is.

In that case I apologise, still too early in the morning for me. Time for coffee I think :indiff:

Following on from my" we will let you know the release date at the launch party" theory.
If they turn around and say it will be available to buy tomorrow, to a thunderous applause.

Will us pre order guys be screwed. Will we end up getting it delivered after every one else had had an opportunity to buy in shops.
Or would Sony have the courtesy to let amazon etc know about their secret so that they could send out in advance.

Just wondering when on earth are we going to a get a date, this has become quite a joke :S they're hiding the date, yet undoubtabley the game will be completely leaked video wise onto youtube within the next few days....

Another day that we get to be disappointed, horray! I just assume that we will hear absolutely nothing now. I'm not expecting a release date this week at all. I would be really surprised if Sony gave us one.

Today however is my birthday, and the best gift would be a release date announcement.

I dont understand sonys logic at all. If it was me and i had a game (or anything else for that matter) that i knew would net me a huge amount of money i would have adverts everywhere and a date that was set in concrete and before the biggest spending period of the year I.E. xmas.

Sony it seems dont have a clue, here we are only 7 or so weeks to xmas and quite possibly one of the biggest releases of the generation so far sits in no mans land with no release date and the many many people the world over all willing to hand their money over have no idea whats happening and with no adverts of any kind the general games buyin public have no idea either.

It really does beg the question what goes on in sony towers everyday, this game should be in every magazine, newspaper and supplement in the land maximising exposure so people will be bangin the door down to buy it. Instead we get absolutely zero information only a vague 'it should be out by xmas' from KY but that can be taken with an ocean of salt afta the fiasco thats been draggin for over 5 yrs now.

Im reasonably sure a group of trained chimps could probably handle the situation better than one of the biggest names in consumer electronics in the world seems to be:tdown:👎

+1
I dont what they think they are achieving with the lack of info. Its only causing confusion

I agree, I know that GT is popular and many say nah it doesn't need adverts...
Just as a comparison, I dont want to be raged at but as you know Mario is the most known gaming character, you can ask 50% of the world and they'd know who he is and honestly GT is nothing compared to the fame he has, yet nintendo still push out adverts for every major game.

The advertising thing, I kinda understand why Sony isn't doing it. I mean they aren't going to start advertising until they announce a release date and the game is getting close to release. So I don't get why you guys are worrying about that. Call of Duty Black Ops didn't get its TV Spots until the week before release.

Ideally we are still under 2 weeks out before this game hits stores in the U.S. its to early for advertising.

Just from scan-reading the last few pages of posts, I'd be willing to put money on a 26th November EU/UK release. The photo of that document from the Dutch gaming retailer is what's completely convinced me, after first guessing it'd be that date from my own Amazon email notification for the Track Guide book. There'd be absolutely no reason to delay that book other than to coincide with the release of the game, and the fact that the date they've given me for it's release is the same as that on the Dutch game retailers' document seals the deal in my opinion. Roll on the 26th! :) 👍

Sadly for them, they did have a date that was set in concrete.....and they blew it. Everything now is pure speculation but I would like to think that an end of November release is likely.

I think after missing their November 2nd date they want to be as sure as possible about their next release date before they reveal it to the public so perhaps they're waiting until all their shipments go off to all the countries they need them to be in before saying anything so there is basically no chance of them being wrong this time.

Happy Birthday kyleh613 :)

Hopefully it was a great day for you, and that your wish of the best gift comes true 👍

I mean whats the odds on every single one of those GT5 discs remaing in the stores for those 2 weeks prior to the official release.

The world is full of people with sticky fingers

If this is true then the world is also full of people willing to lose their job and more over a videogame.
