Those of you who think they aren't going to advertise it are dreaming. If we don't hear anything by mid-late November it's going to be "see you in 2011".

How on earth can it be 2011 if the discs have been pressed already -_- and retail copies are leaking from somewhere..... where is this somewhere :P maybe I should just raid the Sony disc plant a few minutes from here.

They are doing advertising....

Has nobody seen the recent Top Gear, Evo, Car etc... They've all showcased the X1 and GT5.

It's all part of the ramp up, as are the video leaks (if you believe that they are viral...)

I keep looking at the official site (now switched from the French to the UK version).
http://uk.playstation.com/ps3/games/detail/item239615/Gran-Turismo®-5/

Release date: TBC

I really wanted to see in this as Tuesday Before Christmas from an official source.
But it does mean "To Be Confirmed", as long at this is the case the rest is interesting to see what others think, but holds not more value.

Good check too: http://whois.domaintools.com
put in the address of your source if the owner is not Sony Entertainment or Polyphony Digital, they are not 100% reliable. Till now all references failed this test.

All's I've been hearing is 23-24. That isn't too far away now just... 13 days :D

As the 24th is being mentioned I would like to ask a question.

I know in the US all games tend to be released on a Tues so that would make it the 23rd November. Here in the UK its a Friday so that will make it the 26th Nov. So could you please tell me what day is normally release day for the rest of Europe.

Often Thurday in EU i think.

On another note i went into GAME today and asked if they recieved any more info about the release date and he said they as a store havnt yet and Sony are probally in contact with head office around now. He seemed to think they havnt publicly annouced a release date because no one would belive them lol

Cheers for letting me know.

I popped into my local Game store yesterday and had a row with an employee who I cannot stand. This employee is a diehard Forza fan who said "GT5 isn't even finished and won't be ready until next year". I took great delight in telling him about the leaked videos on Youtube.

Out of Curiousity are you the same Stune who played FM2 under the tag VVV Stune?

I just can't imagine Sony dropping the bomb on us just 2 weeks prior to release. That's very un-Sony.

Well, if you think about it... They could announce the release dates two days prior to the actual release and the amount of disks available will probably still just be sufficient to cover all the pre orders and the first two, maybe three weeks after release.

It seems pretty reasonable that getting the game out before (or at least very close to) Black Friday would be one of Sony's highest priorities right now.

And the fact that there are already some leaked copies out there supports the idea that the release can't be that far of anymore.

I preordered GT5 about an hour ago at my local GameStop. The guy I was talking to basically admitted that nobody at GameStop knows anything about GT5's release date. They're just speculating like everybody else.

After hearing all that, I'm pretty positive most of us have a better idea of when GT5 will release than most of those guys working at GameStop or EB Games or whatever...

agreed, i think Black Friday is an obvious target for Sony. I just wish they would go ahead and say Nov 23rd so we could all stop stressing about it.

I think Sony purposely delayed GT5 in order to get more sells. It will sell good reguardless, but I think they are looking for Halo/COD type #'s and theres no way there going to get that with Kinect and Black Opps taking most gamers money right now. I wouldn't be surprised if its December or later at this point.

They don'w want they hype to be taken away, but they also don't want to lose sales. The week of Black Friday is perfect for release.

December would be a bit too late.

It's completely reasonable for them to postpone the launch until a few weeks after COD comes out. Black Ops will probably be one of the best selling games of all time, having GT5 released the week after means a huge amount of people will pass because they just bought a game. Now that I think of that it totally makes sense.

Obviously, people like us don't care when its released its a automatic buy on day one, but there are alot of people who buy a few games a year.

I buy 1 game a year... the ones I have, I got while waiting for GT.

Lol your comments reminded me of Kanye west at VMA.

Actually it probably will be considering Activision actually decided to market the game this time, they usually only put heavy marketing behind the MW COD games but since they lost that developer they had no choice but to go all out with Black Opps. By the time people realize the COD games from here on out arent as good as the MW games it wll be too late, Activision will have already made a bucket load of cash. Black Opps wont be the best selling game of all time, but top ten for sure when its all said and done.
