I think it was "Driv3r" where they released the guide a few weeks earlier than the actual game.

Just saying, don't build up false hopes. Wait for an official date on a Sony site.

Funny you should mention that game here. It was orginally expected in 2002 i believe and when it did eventually get released in 2005 it got slated pretty badly by critics. Lets hope GT5 wont be subject to a similar fate:dopey:

Although one good thing i randomly got sent the game 10 days early:sly:, not a review copy, just randomly from gameplay.com. Imagine if the same thing happened with GT5:drool:

Why should he lighten up? that was a decently polite way to put it and he certainly didn't point any fingers. It IS stupid to believe anyone other than Sony for a release date at this point.

I don't think there will be a release date, they might just start showing up in stores when sony gets them shipped out to them in theory couldn't you sell a game that has no release date.

I for one, would be quite upset. I don't think they would do such a thing anyway.
 
I hope they give a release date to but it is just wierd for them to go this long and not give us one after all of these leaked video's

Same...preordered when they announced the CE...but this is starting to get ridiculous...if this game is coming out soon, within a month, what's the hold up with announcing a date?

This is Sony we're talking about...PD/Sony's handling of the release date is becoming a joke...you have companies that nail a date a year or two out, and they can't nail a date WHILE the disks are being pressed?! What a joke...
 
I know somebody working in a local game shop. If I talk nice enough to him he might give me the game early when its delivered to the shop. He told me that almost all games get to the shop a week before its due for public release.
 
i just got email from amazon, and they change release date as December 31, 2010....
please.. just release game in November, since many people know it is completed......

It's all but confirmed that it will be this month. Nobody knows the exact date for sure yet, though.

Yeah, most people still don't know anything for sure.
But, as I said earlier, we are probably among the people that have the best understanding of when the game will release. Which is sad, really.
 
Guys I think I figured it out. PD never actually intended to actually sell the game to the public. They just intended to give out a select few copies to various people around the globe and let us peasants drool over youtube vids of them playing it over the internet. This is as good as it gets guys!

I like this explanation better than "GT5 has been delayed from it's Nov 2nd launch date...Sony to announce release date by the end of October..."

Whereas I snagged copies of Dirt2 and Midnight Club: LA for a song at pawnshops today. Adding to my Modnation Racers, GT5:P and Wipeout HD, I could race for months without GT5. And 60% of those were bought secondhand, so Sony didn't pocket a penny from them.

Just got this magazine from JB HI-FI in Auckland NZ. Not sure if it's telling the truth but I will go back there ans ask if its true or not.

Well it looks like all signs are pointing towards end november release.

It's a pity that Sony still refuses to say anything.

Edit: Still says Late 2010 on the JB HI-FI website.
