PSN: Maxitsu
PSN origin: Europe, Belgium
GT5 disc region: Europe,Belgium
Country currently living:: Belgium
Problem: Paying 12 bucks for DLC that only one person can use? Sure it's a cheaper price than most DLC, but what will my brothers do? Dish out 12 bucks as well?

PSN: dr3w_sw
PSN origin: Australia
GT5 disc region: USA
Country currently living::Australia
Problem
Incompatibility, DLC doesn't work

Can anyone clarify this for me?

-I bought my PS3 in the US, I currently live in Denmark.
-My GT5 disc was bought in Denmark.

Will I be able to use the DLC from Europe's PSN store, or the American PSN store?
Or will I not be able to use it in any way, as the disc and console are from different regions?
To summarize: Does the game, console, and DLC all need to be from the same region to work?

Problem: Main account is Australian. Can't use the DLC on it :( Can on my US account, but my GT save file is in my Aussie account. Not starting a file for the DLC.
My dream of driving as the STIG appears to be shattered :(

PLEASE Kaz make the DLC region free!!

PSN: Nickb01
PSN origin: AUS
GT5 disc region: PAL
Country currently living:: AUS
Problem: my main account is from the US, what I use for all my games, which are always bought from AUS, as well as the dlc which is always bought from AUS. Never been an issue till gt5, and until this is fixed dlc is not playable on my main account.

We have 3x accounts in the house and use prepaid cards, not buying 3x $30 psn cards for 1 ps3. Sony/PD if this is intentional then shame on you.

PSN: Gai-Gun
PSN origin: Japan
GT5 disc region: Asia
Country currently living: Japan
Problem: Cannot give PD my money. I originally bought the Asian version of GT5 because it had english menus (and it was 2000 yen less than the Japanese version). Have been playing this game steadily since release, but now if I want to purchase and use DLC I either have to

a) create a Hong Kong account and buy the DLC and start the entire game again.

or

b) buy the Japanese version of the game and then buy the DLC and start the entire game again.

What a way to suck the enjoyment out of the game.

PSN: kohanson
PSN origin: Asia
GT5 disc region: EU
Country currently living: Singapore
Problem: I am staying in Singapore and I bought the EU disc as it came out earlier than the Asia disc. If I buy the DLC from EU store, there is no way I can use the DLC as my main account is in Asia. I have been playing the game since it was released and I am not going to buy an Asia Disc and start all over just for the DLC. Please fix this asap as I want to purchase the DLC. I am not sharing the DLC with anyone or any other PSN account and I am using it only for myself. :grumpy:

Does anybody else think that all this might have been the reason SCEA held back the GT5 DLC in North America? They saw all the hassle this was going to cause because there was no warning and decided to put the DLC back by a week.

I was just about to say this^

PSN: Coxis, GTP_Coxis
PSN origin: USA, Mexico
GT5 disc region: NTSC
Country currently living: Mexico
Problem: I created my PSN account when there wasn't a mexican PSN Store. My main account, Coxis is only used for regular non-GT5 gaming and it keeps all my funds. GTP_Coxis is the only account I use to race. All the games and DLC I've bought on my main account are usable on my other accounts, but not GT5's. Not cool.

PSN: seizure_
PSN origin: Asia
GT5 disc region: All 3 regions (EU, US and Asia)
Country currently living: Asia, Singapore
Problem: Not exactly a problem but I'm here to share some findings which might help clear the air for some. I actually did a video on this but I guess typing is easier.

I purchased a Asia Complete Pack DLC and it works flawlessly with my Asia game disc (straight forward).

And since I have a 3 regions of GT5, I took that to my advantage and did some testing. I proceed to purchase another cheap DLC pack (paint pack) and loaded up both the US and EU game discs. Results, as expected, the Asia DLC purchased from the Asia PS Store is not being recognized by the US and EU game discs.

Based on the above, the DLC basically doesn't work cross region (which many of you have already found out through the hard way).

PSN: kochung
PSN origin: Hong Kong
GT5 disc region: Japan
Country currently living:: Hong Kong
Problem: I expected DLC works like the same way as stealth cars. Now it isn't even possible to play DLC on my main account (HK) with my Japan disc no matter how much I pay. Definitely don't wanna start the new game again. Bought PS3 and G27 only for GT5. All other games DLC and stealth cars can be shared by any accounts on the same PS3. PD didn't even make an announcement before they went EA. Feel so screwed.

I don't mean to sound like an a**ehole, but this is entirely your own fault, you should read all terms and conditions before you do anything, this just demonstrates that you havent.

The information regarding the account lock and region compatibility was only announced after the release and people started having problems with it. If you were a victim then you wouldn't have said that and this is a petition thread so there is no need for you to post here and troll.

Go and actually read terms and conditions regarding DLC for other games before you fire out the word troll, it's not different to what some people are experiencing with GT5's DLC, the same thing has happened as far back as the days of WipEout Pure on PSP, Mr. Third World Photography, think before you say something stupid.

Other games are irrelevant. The information regarding the account lock and region incompatability was released after the product was offered and purchased by many people.

You can't blame someone for not reading the terms and conditions when there were no terms and conditions to read.

Someone said on the terms and conditions on the PS store that it clearly states users can use this on up to 5 different accounts. So since you are in the UK maybe you could check this out and come back to report.

Most of the games out there and the stealth cars don't have stupid restrictions like this. Some players live in Japan but wanted English menus and bought English versions. A lot of us moved to other countries with our PS3s so its not uncommon that we play different region disc in different region accounts as well.

You can say it's our fault playing in different region accounts but there is nothing wrong for us voice out to PD in this PETITION thread in the first place.

Ive been a fan of GT since GT1, Like the rest of you, helped me fall in love with cars. But, this is bs.Kaz playing dumb is not helping either.I will not buy 3 sets of DLC for the 3 people in my home that use PSN. EA does not even do this!! Fifa, Mass Effect and even Turn 10s Forza doesnt do this!

I'm thankful for not being ignorant and knowing a troll when I see one. This reply of yours only proves it to anyone who reads this thread and posting in this thread because of a unique situation which is the first time ever this happened for any DLC on the PS3. Next time you try reading before posting.

Problem: My game disc has differ region from my PSN account. If I start over with an R1 disc, which I own and been playing on a secondary offline account, I would have lost almost a year's worth of game progress.

Almost in a same situation..

Problem: My main account is US but purchasing account is EU since my PAL disk doesn't recognize US DLCs. I do have US disk now, but my PAL save file won't work with it. I don't mind starting over again (lvl 40 btw), but if there's way out of this I'd appreciate it.

For the ones having the trouble that it is only for one account, you should all go back to the PS Store to the screen where you bought it. I just bought the DLC and I checked what it said about using it. It clearly states that the DLC content can be used on FIVE registered PS3 systems, in the PS Store there is nothing about it only being available to one account only. Which is just wrong from Sony, so I think that if you would go to court over this (then of course you want to have a large group) you can only win, since it clearly states this download can be used on 5 different PS3 systems. Nothing about it only being valid for one account.

For the ones going through with fighting Sony, good luck and make screens of the PS Store screen of the GT5 DLC where it clearly states that it can be used on 5 PS3 systems.

Problem: Can't use the DLC across all accounts on the PS3. So that means either my dad or I are going to miss out, and I know how is going to win that battle :(.

I think that only applies to a single account enabled on multiple systems. Which doesn't have to do with different accounts on a single system. But really thank you for your kind thoughts, we need all the support we can get on this issue.
