Problem: Cannot use dlc because region lock. (At time of gt5 purchase, R2 discs were the only copies available in my country. R3 discs came two months later!) I purchase dlc via my asian account, cannot use bcos region lock. Ok fine! So I buy EU psn card and made dlc purchase via EU account, and still cannot be used on asian account because of account lock. Am i supposed to start all over again just because you locked the dlc?
Petition: Please unlock either region or account. I've already purchased the course pack two times today and i cannot use it! A lot of complains here are about having to purchase multiple times for multiple accounts. I only want to use one of my purchases.

My situation is similiar. I am in Singapore. My account is Singapore but my disc is R2 UK disc. My only game is GT5 & i only purchased PS3 beginning of 2011. I am not aware of such 'region lock'. There was no clear instruction or warning in the Playstation store when purchasing this DLC. Not right. Not fair. Terrible.

No it's not the user's fault. If you don't get the information you need regarding the product and the purchase it is the company's fault (Sony) and you should be refunded, or the product should be replaced with the correct product. But then again, I suppose that consumer's rights are stronger in Sweden than a lot of other countries...

But yes, take it up with Sony in the region you live in, and the region you purchased the DLC from. Explain the problem with lack of information regarding the product and they probably will sort it out for you.

I agree. I felt unjust.

Can anyone clarify this for me?

-I bought my PS3 in the US, I currently live in Denmark.
-My GT5 disc was bought in Denmark.

Will I be able to use the DLC from Europe's PSN store, or the American PSN store?
Or will I not be able to use it in any way, as the disc and console are from different regions?
To summarize: Does the game, console, and DLC all need to be from the same region to work?

The DLC won't work for you like many others here.

Problem: I am staying in Singapore and I bought the EU disc as it came out earlier than the Asia disc. If I buy the DLC from EU store, there is no way I can use the DLC as my main account is in Asia. I have been playing the game since it was released and I am not going to buy an Asia Disc and start all over just for the DLC. Please fix this asap as I want to purchase the DLC. I am not sharing the DLC with anyone or any other PSN account and I am using it only for myself. :grumpy:

I am Singaporean with Singapore account with a UK disc. Same situation as you. I bought the DLC twice, after the first time i bought, i dun see it & i purchase it again because i got a bit impatient & still dun see it. Looked thru the Playstation website & i could get no clue why like that... then got to this page after searching thru the net & saw the situation... Very pissed!

If it's an illegal agreement, doesn't matter if people agree or not. These conditions are not exactly fair, in the sense that, if you don't agree, you can't even login to services.
It's like when you go to the mall, and you see signs in the parking lot that say "we do not take any responsability over your vehicle or any belongings that are in its interior.", but, according to brazilian law, they are responsible. Just because their sign states a warning, doesn't mean that it's legal and that they can't be sued over it if something happens.

Possibly, but so far over here in the US, the federal government nor the BBB (Better Business Bureau) have yet to lodge complaints of this type of agreement.

So far, Sony is safe from class actions.

And for the most part, Sony is offering the fix I just posted about. I don't get why people are still fuming over this.

I don't think GT5 is the only game that does DLC like this, but correct me if I'm wrong.

This has nothing to do with legality, but ETHICS.

How ethical is it for the Playstation Store to let users purchase region-locked DLC, when they SHOULD have known that a large number of us, who do not scrutinize "term&conditions", would not able to enjoy it?

Shldn't have Playstation Store informed us about the DLC not being compatible, and thus should have not allowed the transaction to go through? Technically (I assume), I would be able to purchase the DLC without even owning a copy of GT5...

I feel like I have been cheated. I am a big fan of GT, but this has really tested my patience. And it's quite a joke that ''they can't do much about it". Disgrace.

I feel as "cheated" but to be fair to PSN, they did warn that the DLC should only be downloaded for the regional disc. However, what confused me was the fact that GT website says that the DLC should match my GT5 account (Singapore), while PSN says that the DLC should match my game disc region (US R1).

So guys, I live in Canada right? I bought my PS3 from Canada, and my PSN account is Canadian. I bought the game from here as well, but since Canada technically falls under "North America", my game is Region 1 (US BCUS 98114)

Will I be fine to download it tomorrow?

Problem : I have purchased the GT5 DLC complete pack and another paint pack on 18oct. When I logged on to my account (I use this account to purchase the item) and click the downloadable content (on the right most corner), it said 'no purchased content found'. Then i found it its because of the delay in America and its confirmed today 25october by 14PST through twitter. When I go back to the Playstation Store and click on the pack which I have purchased, its still the same thing. no content was found. And i bought another paint pack so that maybe it will reload the old one and the full pack together. But i was wrong. The same thing appears no content.

Tested again since the 25th was the official release for North America.

I was hopping that it would be fix but no.... i'll have to wait till December to have a DLC released in October to be working.

Also spoke 2 time with Sony USA and 4 time with Sony Europe and they keep throwing me to each other and no one want to do a refund... look like they will get a letter from my lawyer. Even if it's only 12$ x2 it's the ethics of it.

If we would have been warn about the "region lock" i would take full responsibility of the item i bought, since no warning or "check" was done it's not acceptable at all in my book.

Also i have contact IGN regarding this since it might be the way Sony have headed for future DLC of all game and no feedback.

Problem: Using a US account as main account because my country didn't have a PS Store when I first got my PS3. Now I moved to the US for a year, and I can get the DLC with my US account, but it won't work because I have a PAL disc and a save game. I can buy it from the Turkish PSN store but then it won't work with my main account, which is pointless because i dont wanna start over just to get the dlc

"Regarding the DLC usage for multiple accounts,"

"We’re planning an another update for GT5 in December. In that update users who purchased cars and tracks from the DLC already,"

"-can receive a free “family upgrade” in the PS Store, which will let all users in the same PS console use the DLC."

"And though we looked into this, unfortunately there’s no solution for crossing multiple regions."

"I’m sorry, but we have to ask you to match the region of your disc and your PSN account setting."

"People who bought the DLC cars will have those cars added to the dealers in the December update."

"After this December update you can purchase a second car and so on from the dealer."

Straight from Kaz's Twitter.

And a class action is not gonna happen too, as stipulated in the new PSN agreement, which you all agreed to.

sorry for double-posting but does this mean that I can buy my DLC from European PS Store(my game disc is PAL), apply the family upgrade, and use the dlc with my US account since it says "ALL" accounts on the console can use it?
