Problem: Having to buy DLC for every account seperately is just ridiculous. Especially when claiming it can't be done, while other games are able to do it without any problems.

I think that only applies to a single account enabled on multiple systems. Which doesn't have to do with different accounts on a single system. But really thank you for your kind thoughts, we need all the support we can get on this issue.

True, didn't think about that.:) Hope this issue will be solved soon.

PSN: kohanson
PSN origin: Asia
GT5 disc region: EU
Country currently living: Singapore
Problem: I am staying in Singapore and I bought the EU disc as it came out earlier than the Asia disc. If I buy the DLC from EU store, there is no way I can use the DLC as my main account is in Asia. I have been playing the game since it was released and I am not going to buy an Asia Disc and start all over just for the DLC. Please fix this asap as I want to purchase the DLC. I am not sharing the DLC with anyone or any other PSN account and I am using it only for myself. :grumpy:

Same problem here, except that my disc is US and I've already purchased the unusable DLC.
Sony/PD...please look at this.

PSN: Skinny852
PSN origin: HK
GT5 disc region: USA
Country currently living:: USA
Problem: Lived in HK for 20 years, bought a PS3 there. Now live in the US. Bought GT5 here. Apparently I can't play the DLC on my main HK account, so I'm NOT buying it. Unbelievable.

Sony is really shooting themselves in the foot. Resistance 3's Online Pass was so frustrating, but this is almost worse.

PSN: GTP_Mafiaboy
PSN Origin: Australia

Problem: Finding out that it's locked to one account! Because of this, I will not buy DLC until they make it available across all accounts on your PS3.

I know you haven't listened to us regarding a drag strip Kaz, atleast listen to us this time regarding this moronic decision. Did paying for the Schultz GT-R's petrol send you broke and make you want to rip off the community that supports your franchise through thick and thin?? Absolute garbage policy you've implemented here with DLC. 👎

GT5 disc region: Australia
Country currently living: Australia
Problem: I have a Japanese launch PS3, so my Japanese PSN account is my first and main account. I have continued to use it so that I can keep all my trophies and friends on one account ever since.

I have never encountered any issues before in using this setup, but unfortunately, GT5 doesn't use the standard method of distributing paid DLC, but instead it is being distributed as a service, much like a PS+ subscription, making it locked to the account that purchased it.

So now I've got a choice between keeping all my progress since I bought GT5 at launch, or starting a new file on my Australian account and having to add all my friends to it in order to play the game with the DLC. :/

Problem: Cannot give PD my money. I originally bought the Asian version of GT5 because it had english menus (and it was 2000 yen less than the Japanese version). Have been playing this game steadily since release, but now if I want to purchase and use DLC I either have to

a) create a Hong Kong account and buy the DLC and start the entire game again.

or

b) buy the Japanese version of the game and then buy the DLC and start the entire game again.

What a way to suck the enjoyment out of the game.

We are on the same boat. I don't think i will bother choosing either one of the options. Time to give FM4 a chance. Screw GT5

PSN: flygjaMY

Problem: Man I just got into a perfect storm situation. So I bought my PS3 many years ago when Malaysia didn't even have PS3s, so I had to use a dummy US address for PSN. Whatdya know! Can't change my country when Malaysia was finally made available, which was fine until GT5 DLCs came about. So created another Malaysia PSN account. Bought the DLC there. Disc is region 1, so I can't use the DLC. And since the DLC is also locked to a single account, I can't use it on my US region PSN account!!

PSN: R0T4RY99(master acc)/ITR_R0T4RY(main acc)
PSN origin: Australia
GT5 disc region: Australia

Problem: bought the DLC on the master account without warning on the DLC stating that it can only be used on the account where the DLC is bought from. 👎:yuck:

Someone said on the terms and conditions on the PS store that it clearly states users can use this on up to 5 different accounts. So since you are in the UK maybe you could check this out and come back to report.

It varies from game to game, but the norm is that you can only use it on one PSN ID.

There must of been some sort of legal issue as to why it had to be delayed in N.A.. I'm pretty sure that's what they had to iron out before they could release it there.

I live in a house where we (my siblings) all play GT5 in ONE PS3. And we buy all the DLC in one account but we have separate accounts so we can have individual friends, progress, trophies etc. And you expect for us to buy the DLC 4 TIMES in order for us to play with the content? That's BS Sony.

"Regarding the DLC usage for multiple accounts,"

"We’re planning an another update for GT5 in December. In that update users who purchased cars and tracks from the DLC already,"

"-can receive a free “family upgrade” in the PS Store, which will let all users in the same PS console use the DLC."

"And though we looked into this, unfortunately there’s no solution for crossing multiple regions."

"I’m sorry, but we have to ask you to match the region of your disc and your PSN account setting."

"People who bought the DLC cars will have those cars added to the dealers in the December update."

"After this December update you can purchase a second car and so on from the dealer."

Straight from Kaz's Twitter.

And a class action is not gonna happen too, as stipulated in the new PSN agreement, which you all agreed to.

What a joke. I'm pretty sure PD has the solution to the multi-region issue..

If it's an illegal agreement, doesn't matter if people agree or not. These conditions are not exactly fair, in the sense that, if you don't agree, you can't even login to services.
It's like when you go to the mall, and you see signs in the parking lot that say "we do not take any responsability over your vehicle or any belongings that are in its interior.", but, according to brazilian law, they are responsible. Just because their sign states a warning, doesn't mean that it's legal and that they can't be sued over it if something happens.

What really needs to happen is the ability to change the country in our account settings ... I understand why they don't want us to but they should verify it by credit card.

I can't even add a credit card to my account to buy the DLC because it won't be verified with the wrong country.

I'm sure they don't. They probably don't because Sony wouldn't want that to happen, and that would also be a programming nightmare.

It's Sony's problem.

Here's my solution, since crossing region is out of option according the kaz's tweets, and he said that there would be free family pack to be used for other users in the "same" console, I thought I would just create another user with US psn account and then buy the dlc from US ps store and hope I can use it on my main acc which is connected to aus psn but the saved game data is with US disc

Problem: The DLC I bought for my GT5 Version won't show up because of the Region Lock.

Bought a used EU GT5 copy today, DLC shows up now, but I would loose all my saves games because they are region locked as well. Theres no way I'm starting a new GT5 Save.

I tried playing around with a HEX Editor to convert the US GT5 Save Game to an EU GT5 Save Game but I always get a "Savegames Corrupted" Error Message when I want to copy it to the PS3.
Edit: Found out it has something to do with the param.pfd file.

Problem: I did not know it wouldn't work. There were not enough clear instructions on this, that I have to have a Region 3 disc, Region 3 player & staying in Asia before the download work... My disc is bought in a shop & this piece happens to be a Region 2. I bought the download pack, it didn't show up... i checked for info on the net but could not get any info until i come to here... but too bad i before this, i was eager to play & i went to buy another set. Now then i know why it doesn't show up. Please dun make me waste my money... prior to this i had put away this game for a while... looks like i am going to put it away until the next update comes that can solve this problem. So unhappy about it.
