With all due respect, imo, the research on how to alter different variables, belongs here, in this, a non official fan forum, especially one devoted too all knowledge on the GT series.

While encouraging violation of their policies may look bad, I don't think we're directly doing so, nor actually doing anything wrong even if we were, not to mention are not held accountable, due to being unofficial.

Anybody who edits their save is directly violating the policy, yes. It's been quoted a few times around here. Opinion doesn't enter the discussion here.

It's the same reason we don't allow the discussion of piracy on any level here. Should we do that now too?

So I suppose I believe we should, although there isn't need of the community at all, since we freely discuss every other topic here, including the borrow glitch, duplicating, ect, it's something new and of great interest to the community, therefore this is the ideal community for it's discussion.

So if I may prevail upon you to, at least consider, lifting your discussion ban, even if it's limited to just one formal thread, I think we'd all be very grateful.

GTPlanet enjoys a very close relationship with PD and Sony. We've been able to interview Kaz himself on numerous occasions. We've been offered close connections with GT Academy. Jordan was invited to the GT5 launch event.

What sort of message would it send to Sony and Polyphony if we started amassing all the details of precisely how to continue ruining the online experience of the game? You can argue that some people are only editing for their own enjoyment offline, and that's true, but the nature of this editing means anybody who does it, can just as easily go online.

So we're not allowed to discuss it because Jordan won't get invited to events anymore? Sounds a bit selfish to me 👍

Perhaps it sounds that way to you because you have difficulty with reading comprehension.

Again, GTP has a good relationship with both Sony and PD. The site, and therefore the community, benefit from this. People suggesting it become a host for all the necessary info to violate Sony's TOS and wreak havoc on GT5's already delicate online environment, all because they can't use a search engine or navigate to another site? Not only does that sound selfish, but lazy too.

In a matter of seconds, I can find a great deal of information about this situation with a new tab in Chrome.

Then why wont he get us 10% off for the next game in the series or the next console if he has close connections? Just sayin!

I can understand your point (and from my understanding, Bacon's analysis isn't that far wrong), what you're saying is by allowing this freedom to discuss this topic now, we may risk angering Sony and or PD, making them less leniant in the future.

It's just a pity that they're likely to care. But I suppose the trade is reasonable...

Haha well no not really. We're not allowed to discuss it because Jordan has certain privileges. If we were allowed to discuss how to mod the save and whatnot, he would be at risk of losing those privileges. Him not being able to attend a GT event has no impact on me or anyone else on the forum. He's just being selfish.

Back on topic with the hybrids.

I finally created one, but it's a GT86 with 12,575HP without any upgrades. I'm now trying to figure out how to make realistic HP values.

I was online almost all day yesterday and continuously ran across people racing hybrids in open rooms. Seems like all those claiming that they would only use them offline are just blowing smoke. It most definitely ruins the online racing experience and makes GT5 totally useless as entertainment for real racers who take their racing seriously. I sincerely hope that Sony is able to ban anyone who violates the spirit and intention of the game. I can't believe there are so many little children involved in this community ... because that's what it really amounts to.

Hey BlameAuntJemima, while you are tinkering with that 86GT, could take look if this is possible?

I would also like to know if its possible to add the flashing lights effect of the premium GT cars to other premium cars.

It would be nice to have a FR-S/BRZ/86GT with strobes on the front parking lights and rear indicator and backup lights, with the ability to turn them on/off.

Just wondering.

That sounds like a lot and I just started with hybriding :scared:

No worries 👍 I just ask someone else if it's possible or not. :)

How about you, Quatschkopp?

Do you think it would be possible at some point to add strobe lights for example to a FR-S? Two strobes at front and four on the rear?

First of all, how exactly do you know that those saying they would use them offline are actually using them online? Got any names? Nice generalization there.

Second, I was one of those people who said they would only use them offline and indeed will be only using them offline. I will be acquiring some cars soon (with realistic swaps & real horsepower levels).

You forget that Hybriding has been a thing with GT since GT2. It got less known as time went on because it was harder to crack the saves. Now that we have online play, everyone is screaming about it like it's new, which it's absolutely not.

Why because I'm stating the truth?

I have to disagree with this.

GTP is what it is today because of a number of factors and one of those is the relationship with Kaz and PD that he has built up over an extended period of time.

It would be lunacy to put that relationship in jeopardy by allowing members to share, publicly on GTP, the methods used to hack game data that is the intellectual property of PD.

Jordan enjoys the benefits that he does because of the hard work he has done and saying he is being selfish is disrespectful and deserved of an apology, shame on you.

Jordan is protecting us all from ourselves not seeking to get another invite to dinner with a guy he probably has on speed dial.

Geeez paranoid at all :scared: Only Kidding :) And yes, it is obviously meant to be a generalization. I wasn't pointing fingers at anyone in particular and obviously can't connect the people here who say they wouldn't do it since it's just so easy to use an alternate account and ID. All I am saying (in general terms) is that there are people using them online and it is ruining the experience for me. I also realize it's not a new concept but I've never been exposed to it online before. As you yourself have said, it's my opinion and I'm entitled to it :)

Its not the only forum on the internet, there are plenty of places where they'll let you talk about it, so why not go there instead?

Its not just privileges there are legal implications too. Any place sharing this information could potentially receive attention from Sony/PD's lawyers.

If you honestly believe that attending GT and other events and having a close relationship with Kaz has no impact on anything that happens or on who visits here, you're clearly on the wrong forum.
