About the VGA's and GT5, I believe he has already said that their won't be a trailer for GT5, but it will be playable on the red carpet.

It was supposed to be out in December of this year. We're talking about a 6 month delay on top of 5 years we've already been waiting. This is just inexcusable and outrageous. Duke Nukem Forever-itis is an understatement.

Welcome the new Duke nukem forever and Too Human haha, my point is if it will be this late why dont they call it GT6 prologue . anyway i'll import the japanese version. I don't know about you guys especially those in Europe. EU as usual will get this game very late.

The irony is we might even see a new project from turn 10 and also PGR from xbox 360. Next year the hype will be gone and Ps4 and 720 will be almost unveiled

You Doom mongers are funny. I'm fully expecting this game to come out within a whisker of the japanese date, either before or after.
earliest 5th march, latest April someday.

I won't import the Japanese version, since I won't be able to understand it. But if it comes out in Europe first, I will definitely import it.

Just one word: Frustration.

Well, I just hope that this isn't a tatic from PD to sell a bunch of japanese copies and then release the US ones to make even more money. Damn, I will really have to import a japanese version, let's wait and ask someone here who understands japanese and can post the translation.

Maybe its tactics since they expect a lot of pissed gamers to import the game , and after that they will buy the game again if its release in there respective regions.

GT5 has been listed by Sony in Australia (PAL, which releases the same time as Europe) as Early 2010. There is Zero proof to say otherwise yet..

And this is exactly what I will do, and it's exactly what they are expecting. Where's the ethics now? Money is always important, not even KY can change this as Sony is looking to make an stupid amount of money from GT. Anyway, this is frustrating, I wasn't even considering this possibility.

I'm not sure when we got news about GT HD, but it seemed like it was a week or so before Christmas. I'm hopeful we get some GT5 news before Christmas again. I doubt we get anything major till next year, but I don't think the Time Trial download will be all we get before 2010.

GTHD Concept came out at launch if i remember correctly.
Which would be November... 17 or something like that.

I spotted an interesting gran turismo poster in a ps3 slim commercial. You can get the commercial via download from the psn. It's the one with the word "candle" in the title. When it flashes to the sony executive guy person, you can clearly see a GT poster in the back round, but I've never seen this poster before nor can I make out the car on it. An HD tv helps.

I've been priveliged to be given a sneak peak media copy of the GT Academy GT5 Time Trial game. It is really stripped down as it only has 2 cars (the normal 370z and a tuned version) and 1 track (the Indianapolis Speedway GP circuit) and was a quick 219MB download. It has the familiar GT5P functionality, look and feel.

R1/R1 tyres a lovely and grippy. But for a quick trip back to reality, the N3/N3 tyre combo requires finesse the peddles and a deft touch on the wheel.

As you can see, the game version I have will expire, so I best make the most of it.

While there are two individual time trials for the normal and tuned, the total time is also taken into account.

There are a few glitchy moments with the version I have with a noticeable hiccup every time I cross the line. I hope that this will be ironed out before release day of the fully fledged competition game.

And that's a little bit of a disappointment to me... as I am a competition licence holder I am not eligible to enter this, so will watch from the sidelines and see how the Antipideon drivers fair.

Ahh, you just beat me to it. ;)

The demo will be fun... The Indy road course layout somewhat resembles the Eiger Nordwand GTHD / GT5P layout, but more spread out (longer turns) and the chicanes moved back and separated. The first chicane is much less tight but there's a hairpin chicane following just a bit later in the lap... The tunnel section followed by that long sweeping right / left in Eiger are replaced by the long main straight on the Indy circuit.

when you cross the line are your times immediately posted or does it wait for you to quit? If so, this is what could be causing that slight glitch.

Yeah, the times are compared straight away with the online database, then when you quit they're added.

As I mentioned in another thread the fact it checks your time online as you pass the line is probably whats causing the skip, probably wont be a problem when it is fully launched.

i saw video from demo and that's my thoughts:

-Tyre screeth is waaaaaay better not annoying at all !
-Some mayor overhaul of physic engine you can see it clearly in videogame zone de video. Even with all assists he have mayor problems with driving even on R1 Tyres !!!!!!
- You can feel bumps much more in cocpit view.
- Car sound is waaay better especialy grunge on low rpms and not so pitched on high rpm ! And ofc more noises from shifting, transmision etc.
- Lightning on track is to weird for me maybe :
a: ) it's not advanced build (223 MB ?)
b: ) no dynamic lights for this demo ( for Day&Night cycle impementation)
c: ) static veeery normal and true to life 12 - 1 p.m.
- lots of 3D Trees :D
