What does size have to do with the age of the build? We just don't know how old the build is, could be anything from late November, to the beginning of the year, we simply don't know.

It's small because it has 2 cars and 1 track...

I tried to make a little comparison between the real circuit and that of GT.

Sorry for the low quality, It's the first time that I try to do something like this, but I think it gives a good idea of the details that PD has put to recreate the circuit.
In my opinion is awesome!

Of course, there were plenty of other first-party games worth getting excited about (I’ll tackle the third-party stuff in another post later this week).

For example, I finally got some hands-on time with Gran Turismo 5, and while the controls were set up in a very arcade-like fashion that kept me from getting a feel for the game’s physics—which are purportedly more advanced than those of any game to come before—I did get to see GT5’s new damage system in full effect.

For the first time in a Gran Turismo game cars can become extensively damaged, with fenders, doors, and hoods crumpling and falling off. They can even roll over, though, due to manufacturer concerns about consumers seeing their coveted rides lying impotent on their roofs, they automatically right themselves.

Interestingly, the Polyphony Digital delegate who led me through the demo said that the only reason crash damage exists in the game is because of mountains of requests they’ve received from American gamers. The vast majority of content requests they get from European and Asian players is for more authentic cars and tracks. Only Americans, it seems, are fixated on busting up their virtual vehicles.

He also added that, according to their research, most players who want to see realistic damage—including issues that affects performance and handling—end up turning it off after just a few races. “They say, man, that’s cool, then switch it off because it makes the game too hard.”

Seems like a lot of work for a feature that ends up being used by so few people.

However, that Polyphony Digital would put such effort into something they know will be used by a niche group is likely an indication of their determination to make Gran Turismo 5 the most full-featured and authentic racing simulator to date. "

Not sure if posted. PD does listen, but maybe listened to the wrong crowd this time.

nice read mate 👍

I think I'm leaning towards the no damage for more tracks and authentic cars, i don't know if its really that important considering the goal is NOT to hit cars. Sure it happens in actual races but very few times but its not entertaining; its scary, because those are actual people in danger. just my imo.

No, it only shows DF GT settings, it just says that Kaz is using 900 degree wheel with sequential, no G25 or 27 info there.

yes, but it doesnt say its DFGT either :D

i know its probably DFGT but that sounds like H gearbox is recognized too.. so, G2... :)

Ok, then what are other option for sequential gearbox ? All wheels for gt are sequential so why PD even bothered to state sequential ?

I think if it says 900 degree wheel with sequential gb then there must be other options for degree AND Gearbox mode...

I's logical, don't you think ? I mean there were shoots of G27 in PD studio....

Also we know that GT5P had Cluth in full version (demo was without cluth) probably this was newest addition so they don't included in menu g25 then..

All questions will be answered 17 :D I', eager to try new physic with my g25 :)

btw.. maybe software calibration for all usb wheels ???????

But it points out the type of shifting mechanism used, they have never done that before and wouldn't need to unless there is more than just sequential. :)

I do hope they keep the steering wheel option minimal, just the way Prologue was- FFB setting and Power steering ON/OFF. If it was up to me, there would only be one FFB setting which would be as close as you can get to the actual steering of the car.

While PD obviously would promote the DFGT, I've seen both the G27 and the G25 around the setup at PD (in the recent KY driving Nordschleife, although in a box but also in Beyond the Apex where a G25 wheel was sitting on the floor while the DFPro on the table). I'm pretty sure when there's no media around, either the G25 and now the G27 is wheel of choice at PD.

5 years and there is still screen tearing, no damage and no skid marks from the wheel. Sigh...

This. I could do without damage, but at least put the damn skidmarks in already

I must say the screens look great, but the people in the crowd look a little... flat

Well, I hope PD will be happy to note that I am 3 seasons, and driver level 25 into Forza 3's season play mode and still using full simulation damage. I have had to restart (I don't use rewind) many, many times, but damage has maybe played a roll in 5% of those, and at least half of that was due to some aggresive AI. But I know I need to avoid becoming aggressive myself at all costs. But after NFS:Shift and FM3 I can say that visual damage is a low priority. Mechanical damage is the key.

No damage? Oh, you mean in this very tiny demo that will very likely have a disclaimer that this is not a finished build and is not completely representative of the final product. You know, it is people like you that make developers prefer to not do demos.

I could understand more tracks, but do we not have enough, fully detailed cars as it is?
You're asking that here? I give it less than a day from the full release before we start hearing about how certain cars aren't in the game.

Then there is the whole encyclopedia of cars concept Yamauchi mentioned in the GT2 days.

Thanks for the scans.

However, looks like its just repeating what we've already seen. All those pics are old and I'm guessing so is the text that surrounds them :indiff:

Actually that ARTA ASL SuperGT pic is a new one, but it's from the same TGS demo, so nothing new.

It's nice the ASL is back in the game, I quite preferred the ASL as an Elise alternative.;)
