E3 for next year is slated from June 15-17. I'd say it will be around that date- before that or Sony could use E3 as the launching ground but that's a bit anti-climatic since the JPN version is already out.

Come to think of it I do not trust GS either. I bet you the release date for GT5 is not even set yet and Sony is still figuring things out.

MAG is January. Heavy Rain was just announced for February. WNC and Mod Nation Racers are also slated for a February release. March is GOWIII. The Sony motion control thingy is slated for a Spring release so basically some time in March through May. IMO April to July is the best / most logical time to release GT5. The summer is usually very slow in terms of spending. What I think may be going on is that Sony is going to launch a large marketing push around the release of GOWIII, its motion controller and GT5. All 3 of these will probably come out within a month or two of each other as part of this campaign.

I am also going to go out on a limb and say that Sony will release 3-4 bundles over the course of the Spring / Summer. A GOWIII bundle at $300, a PS3/PS Eye/ PS motion bundle for $400 and a PS3/GT5/DFGT bundle for $400-450 (and/or a PS3 2xxgb/2 DS3s/GT5 for $400). My guess would be the GOWIII bundle in March, Motion bundle in April/May and the GT5 bundle(s) May/July.

This would be a pretty heavy assault marketing wise that should keep the PS3's sales up until the holiday season. GT5 and GOWIII are 2 of those games that will sell well and remain relevant for at least half a year if not further. The only problem with all of this is it would kinda be like putting all your eggs in one basket. What happens after GOWIII/GT5/Motion thing? FF13/FFV13? The Last Guardian? The best things I can think of is Resistance 3 and R*'s Agent. I hope Sony does not hold GT5 back until holidays 2010 but its quite possible. Only time will tell.

GT5 might as well come out a day before GT6. While its competition releases forza 7

This is true. I've heard this from other sources as well.
And most of us will drive flying cars by that time and have summer resort in moon.

Negative nancy.

I can wait for GT5 to come out whenever PD decides to release it. Knowing that it will be an awesome game with zero glitches and something I will enjoy for years. Releasing games every year gets you nothing but bugs and glitches and a half-assed game. (NFS:Shift ring a bell)

"I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by." (Douglas Adams)

Well, we still have the insider info that this time GT will be a world-wide release on the same date, so I still see a slim chance that either GT5 will be out shortly before or after the end of fiscal year for Sony. Which should be 31st of March.

However, if the EU release is also "delayed", I'm pretty much occupied from July until January 24/7, so there's really no point in getting the game then. Guess if GT5 won't make it until March/April, I will propably get it in 2011 then :ouch:

"The North American release is currently scheduled for next summer."

What the 🤬?

Well prepare for the biggest import of Japanese Games in the history of gaming it that happens. Poor EU region and other regions, it means they will get it earliest is Dec 2010 and possibly its Early 2011. sigh...

Honestly this will affect US and EU sales since there are bigger games ahead of it that will sway us away from GT5 and also frustrations of waiting to the point next gen console is almost here before they show the game.

My goodness imagine that, it will even reach E3 2010. That is so late. And to add insult MS must have already shown Forza 4 by that time and also the new project gotham racing. Wow... Kiss February and March and April good bye for USA and EU because of GOW3, FF13, and Heavy Rain. Well at least this three games are AAA.

If they do it again, they can add those millions of gray import to their sales and big numbers are always welcome for Sony. But if it will be true again, this time it will be big negative discussion topic of all gaming sites. And we will be again the sheeps and buy the game twice.

Hmm, maybe they expected that a lot will import this game in Japan and after that will buy the game again if it is already release in each region that is why they will deliberately delay this game on a very late schedule in EU and NA. It means more profit for Sony. But I hope not.

I know its a bit of a long shot, but if they do put a huge gap inbetween Japan release and EU USA release, do you think Sony would be able to release a patch to translate all of the menus for people who do decide to import it? If they did that and there was more than 3 months between the releases i know i would import it.

Here we go again! :boggled:

How about we wait until we hear something official from Sony before we get our panties in a twist? 💡

I remember an interview where Kaz said that PD was working for a worldwide release, and so on sony cannot release the PAL version many months after the japanese one. Antii-san is more than correct, let's wait for Sony's position about the US and EU release.

Actually it is likely to be released later rather than sooner in Europe due to PAL SD optimisation.

If everybody had HD there wouldn't be a problem as HD is the same standard worldwide so any game should work on any system anywhere. Unfortunately not everyone has HD and not all PAL SD sets support 60HZ.

I don't think language will be an issue though. PD has had 4 full GT releases to practice that.

I really hope the game is out over here in the first half of '10 but I won't be bothered if it's delayed as I'm probably going to cave in and buy the Japanese version as soon as it's available anyway.

Didn't KY already say that its up to Sony when GT5 is released in the EU and US so i think there just taking their time and will probably announce the release date at the start of next year.

DING! :dunce:

I agree. Put it out when its done. With all the features we have heard so far, this is already the best waiting experience out there. Have a little faith guys.
Frankly, I'd agree with this. Half the fun of a Gran Turismo release is the wait and speculation. Well... almost.

But remember that GT5 has the feature of allowing you to play your own music off the PS3.
While this is true, I'm not sure that PS3 custom lists support titling, and I like seeing those titles in replays. Also, I'm not sure GT5 will support adding my mp3 or wav files to the GT5 playlist, and I'd rather not resort to ripping or re-recording all those songs I want, just to add a few of my own. Besides, I like J-Pop and -Rock.
