You need to step away from the internet, now.

A photoshop proves that it indeed has nothing to do with what was going on, or who was in the picture.

I guess you didn't get my statement. I said what did you prove? That some noob photoshopped an image and placed it? There was already people saying this long before you 'proved' anything. Step away from the internet, what a joke. I laugh when people like you come around like their billy bad ass thinking they've solved something when anyone in their right mind knew it was a fake picture. :dunce:

Think before you speak (or in this case type). I was agreeing with you but just stating that you 'figuring it out' was nothing special. All along there were people who knew it was a photoshop. Kaz isn't going to be standing in front of a Virgin F1 car with Adrian Newey. He has NOTHING to do with Virgin Racing, like I said. The only thing that connects them is the statement he made of CFD (computational fluid dynamics) being used solely to design the Virgin car, and it being at least 20(?) years behind what can be done with a wind tunnel.

Another thing I wanted to point out was the C63 had modeling of the front bumper. Not that it's special but this to me signified BODY KITS or at least fenders being damaged.

Hmmm. I'm imaging we'll still be able to force a specific weather condition for time trials, or most things leaderboard related. I do understand that it's more realistic to allow any weather conditions (like, for example, look at the constant real-life arguments about 'Ring times), but this is a video game. I don't want to have to hope for the perfect conditions just to have a good chance at making my mark on the leaderboards.

Maybe that's were the Top Gear influence steps in with a big W in front of the times you set in wet conditions.;)
Seriously though, I guess you will have some options regarding type of weather in addition to it being dynamic and random.
I know some racing games which do give you the option of either sunny, rain, etc. or a dynamic or random option.

That kinds sucks if you want to see who the best is between a couple of buddies on the Ring at night in the rain. I guess you will have to hope for the best.

Yep, and what I really don't get about it, is that PD and almost everyone else say that this system is SO advanced, that PD is unable to force it to make it rain...wait a minute, does that make any sense to you? Maybe I just don't get it, I don't know, if someone can explain why this system is so awesome, please do so, would be appreciated.👍

They prob. can't force it to rain due the algorithms that they used in order to implement the type of randomness seen in real life, meaning that they'd have to change the whole coding structure to get it to rain. They said it'll have a forecast but the forecast sometimes wont be 100% accurate to add realism. Actually is really advanced when you think of it...

Hm, I undertand know I think, but still they kinda screwed up, they could have done the algorithms in a way, that they or we as players would still be able to choose the weather, oh well at least the weather will be truly random, a true surpirse, that is really really cool.

Nonsense, no one writes a program like this. Normally it is done in a way like follows (simple example):

IF (rain selected=true)
let it rain
ELSE IF (nice weather selected=true)
give them nice weather
ELSE
<insert complicated random algorithms here>
ENDIF

Who said we won't be able to select weather in a certain game mode (maybe not in carreer mode)?

From what SolidSnakex (I think it was an interview or preview or something) posted, it is said that the system will present you a forecast, from that forecast the temperature, humidity and something else will be random and from this, the system will make it rain.

Will look around to find it.

EDIT:

The rally Special Event is just one example of Polyphony's dynamic design approach to GT5. The game's weather system is also auto-generated (on endurance-based and custom tracks only) based on a trio of interacting factors: humidity, temperature and pressure. The combination of those three elements can result in fog, rain, snow or a clear day. Yamauchi said the team cannot even impose specific weather conditions on a particular race but merely suggest them by creating cloudy weather, for example. From there, the system takes over to create weather on the fly. It's an impressive feat that I'll probably love until I have to drive in the rain.

EDIT2:
Oh wait, I see, the point you guys are discussing is already, kind of, proven isn't? See, Eiger with rain or La Sarthe at night. If, in the final game, the player will have control over it, right now it can only be speculated.

Exactly, thats it. They have a inaccurate forecast in carreer mode, but in time trial mode they could easily give us the control over the weather if they want to, just the way they do it in the demo. We simply do not know if this will be possible for us players. Which does NOT mean that we know that it's impossible.

Visual Basic? LOL :)

It's all about Top Gear. Can you say dry lap and wet lap leaderboards?

Don't know if already seen but here one of the first comparison between GT5 and Forza3... ;-)

Already posted on the TGS thread and that was it. Didn't spring any meaningful discussion as people went most after PD\T10 graphical choices to render the track and color differences (or something like that). Although, that doesn't explain the difference in the layout when both cars reach the Porsche section... so... who's got it worng? *cues dramatic music*

EDIT: Gotta check my eyes. It's a speed difference and not a length issue from any of the games.

Well considering the vast amount of time PD spends on the real world track prior to rendering, it should be obvious.👍

Regarding Weather: It could probably just be turned off for time trials or whenever you like. Also, don't forget the choice of weather condition on the track creator screens. So, maybe they just mean when "dynamic weather" is turned on, it is somewhat unpredictable.

Anyone noticed Open wheel car image in the japanese site of gt?
There is a screenshot in this page about apex magazine http://www.gran-turismo.com/jp/products/gt5/campaign/
third screenshot!

the gt5 one goes to the 6th gear and not the forza 3 one .. that explains the speed difference
