I just came back from Paris Motor Show!
It was a great moment with really nice concepts and a lot of new models premiere.

Gt5 was here too but you must search for it :)

(edit) resized pics!

First at Peugeot booth. Two pods with the 2010 LeMans Build and the 908 HdI LMP.

It's the same build without dammages weather or nigth. But still a fun drive and a really challenging one when the wheel bounce in your hands during the Hunaudieres strait.

the real steel is next to the pods...

Next and more surprising, two more pods at the Orange booth (french mobile phone operator and internet provider).

The infamous TT with prologue...

and a pod with the tokyo game show demo. This pod support 3D and classic view.
The 3D is much more convincing that i expect it to be. I dirve on Nurburgring with the SLS witch is a true beast of grip and power with R3 tires!!! And I play toscana with both the GTR and the Citroen WRC. GTR is so powerfull and wild on the gravel road i almost never been at the same time on the track and in the rigth direction :). The citroen has a far better feel and progressive sliding. In car view is really impressive with 3D. The wheel, the dashboard, the bonnet and the track, all appear with a great depth feeilng.
So sad that I can't afford a 3D TV... for now...

And last for the road, this HUGE mural of Lucas on the Nissan booth rigtht to the 2011GTR...

So, if you are in Paris between the 2 and the 17th of october go for a spin on GT5 demos!

There is also a thing I noticed during the Lotus new models public announcement. Each car were displayed, CGI'ed on short clips. On the Elite clip, the digital driver looks a lot like the Ferrari California driver with a tuxedo and sunglasses. The clips didn't look like something using GT5 engine for the roads, but maybe they use some Polyphony modeling of the cars... A hint for new Lotus in GT5?

I don't think that it would matter if Top Gear Test Track (TGTT) is in FM. I am sure PD will always do a better job in creating tracks. It would be wrong if it would get a MS exclusive. On the other hand let them take TGTT and we get Road America and Mugello:).

I still hope PD is not putting races on the TGTT (demos show different) but only SIARPC and hot laps.

Thoses are huge pics!

But one of those new lotuses would be cool.

Maybe not straight away, but we did get the Evora as DLC nearly a year before the first customer drove his real one.

New-Age Lotus in GT5-> It will be likely that these new Lotus' will be in GT5 (such close ties with PD since GT2 and the past introduction of the Evora).

Elite Vid-> Highly unlikely, it it was made by PD, there will be PD logos everywhere. Not to mention those people in Turn10 will butt-in also like what they did to the Ferrari tribute. :indiff:

I like the new Esprit and Elan (my fav), but I'm not sure about the Elise. It'll probably grow on me.

The Elite is my absolute favorite though.

^ I love Lotus but I think that's ugly, looks like a child of the BMW Z4 coupe and a Austin Martin lol. Wonder if it sticks in the corners like the Elise thou. I doubt it.

That Elite looks fantastic, Lotus are coming out with some great looking cars lately with the Evora and Elite, and the old fashioned livery on their F1 car is awesome!

Saw another GT5 tidbit on the TV today.

There was a Time Warner Cable commercial featuring Dale Earnhardt Jr. playing a console racing game online against a kid, then they'd show what they were playing and it was GT5. That isn't a guess either, as they actually added a GT5 logo in the upper left-hand corner of the on-screen TV screen so you knew what it was.

There was nothing new shown, they were just racing NASCAR cars at Indy, Dale in his own car of course, and the kid in Jeff Gordon's. I thought about recording it and putting it on YouTube, but since it was nothing new or exciting, I didn't.

For seeing them in flesh, the Elan look the best.
Esprit is nice but it lacks a bit of personality.
The Elite isn't ugly, but look like a mix between the california and the 458...
Elise has a lot of nowdays design gimmicks but may grow on me too.
The Eterne is pretty bland...
Lot of the press here have mixed feelings...
Sadly my camera run out of battery before the announcement... :(
so the only pics I can post of Lotus are here...

:guilty:

I was thinking more of an Saleen S7 an d an Aston Martin, but, I agree...it's kinda ugly. I hope it isn't the Esprit reboot.

So true! This comes right on time of GT5 lunch just to steel some attention.

So with pieces of metal in their hand, they did this on Sony/PD's lunch break?

Joking aside, I'm not sure why everyone is freaking. So T10 has decided to get TG on their game, whoopy do. This kind of stuff happens all the time, look at most major businesses. Someone does something ground breaking, then others try to follow and take advantage. What makes this so different?

Have you read this article yet? Because for the people who were worrying about the Standards not having Cockpit View, never fear! It is mentioned that a Mustang will have a generic interior (all Standard Fords will have the same interior), which is better than no interior at all, right? Sorry if this is old news, but I hadn't seen it yet.. :P

The articles wrong according to what Kazunori has actually said, which is no interiors on standard cars. I'll take what he's actually said over this article.

Why are you proposing, you know, logic?

Logic is illogical around these parts.

I know, it just that I've seen many people complaining about having 800 with no Cockpit View.
Kaz himself stated there won't be any.

Edit: And its quite funny to see a rehash of F3 being repackaged a few days before GT5, grasping at straws much?

The way I see it is instead of 800 cars not having cockpits, I see it as we get 200+ beautiful realistic cars WITH cockpits. 200 cars is a big number, I think a lot of people look at it as a percentage of car in GT5 instead of the actual number.

As for Forza 3 (the wannabe edition) coming out a few days before... All it looks like to me is MS doing what they've done since day one... release something, then release what they call an ultimate version, which in truth should have been what they released originally, This version of Forza, and the New Xbox slim.

But yes I think they've realised how massive GT5 is going to be and with Halo Reach already out theyre going to try knock a bit of wind out of the sails of Sony and PD.
Forza is good game, but one problem its already out and they should have just given the Top Gear stuff and cars as a DLC update instead of trying to screw people... but like we say this is MS.

I know, it just that I've seen many people complaining about having 800 with no Cockpit View.

And you think they'll be reassured by an old article which already was proven or at least regarded to be questionable at the time and proven wrong by Kaz himself?
Sound logic going on there.

That article is from June, and provides a vague description of what one sketchy game site thinks standards might mean.

Besides as it has been mentioned, Kaz confirmed no cockpit, extensive damage, windscreen wipers and high beams on standard models.

Edit, I didn't realise there was another page of news discussion, so sorry if this post is irrelevant.

Well the more uneducated kids who buy this new 'updated' forza 3 is GREAT news.

It means there will potentially be less of these stupid kids racing online in GT5, meaning the real racers don't worry about getting noobed off the track.

But forza 3 is an excellent game, it has some really good cars featured that GT5 might not have unfortunately and the gameplay is well structured, yes the physics are not really up to sim standards, and the graphics are inferior but how the hell does that mean that forza 3 fans are uneducated, stupid little kids?

Oh also take in mind, I don't have an xbox or forza 3, but I have played it around my mates house, and trust me, you're just being irrational because its kind of annoying that forza 3 developers have copied GT5.

Not all forza fans are uneducated.

What I meant was that stupid kids will see that T10 have put Forza in a shiny new package and think "OOH NEW GAME BUY BUY BUY" as they will form an uneducated opinion and not read up on GT5.

No doubt MS will put some TV commercials on to advertise it, and spread it around the internet a little to get people to buy it. PD have so far taken a much quieter approach to advertisement...F3 is more in the public eye than GT5, which imo is a good thing.

A game which allows you to have this kind of races can't be bad.

The guy is a bit of a nutjob, but they are having tremendous amounts of fun. The makers and publisher of this product are effectively questionable, but the game can be very fun and addictive.

It's a matter of choosing your playing environment, which we can.👍
