For some reason this car reminds me of a certain fish that I can't remember the name at the moment.

Hopefully it's as good as it looks on the track.

Hopefully the quality of the actual game is comparable to this picture.

Photo mode looks better than ingame, it has motion blur, depth of field, better antialiasing etc

Is the smart car in gt5 ?
:Edit: because I spotted 2 at pd's head office photo's on there website,I think they are employees cars though.
It could also be a very old pic but that doesn't meen the car won't be in.

I really hope not in the possibility of a manafacture race.:(

Why not? Smart do make more than one model of car, they have the Smart Roadster (an MR, low down, topless 2 seater. Which incidentaly I used to own one of and it is a lot of fun) ...and then there is the Smart Forfour Brabus, 137mph and 0-60mph in 6.8 seconds. :)

Thanks for all the demo footage JDM.

No prob man I love playing this demo so fun man, we will all be in joy when we pop GT5 in our PS3! I think I might play mine before every body. My Game Stop is having a 12 am opening, I live three min away from it I will rush home and enjoy.

I have 5 GameStops within 45 min. of me and none of them have gotten an approval yet for a midnight release! 3 of which are near Notre Dame University. We have 3 more weeks, so we'll see what happens. I do have a plan B (WalMart), no matter what I will be getting this game at midnight somewhere!

Second Gamersyde video. Anyone notice the leaves moving on the entrance to the tunnel @50 secs.

Good job PD.

Some really aggresive driving on the rally track with a bit of damage.
Does the right front tire at 0:46sec look a bit strange or is it just me?

I really hope that you can tear off doors in the full game because that looks pretty ridiculous :D

The taxi gamer has at least four new screens I haven't seen before

I wonder why it says online below...

I've been wondering for a while what the significance of the "Online" tab in the garage is (see below image). Assuming the "Favourites" tab is your own selection of favourite cars from your gargantuan garage I'm making a guess that the "Online" tab is another personal selection of your own cars to be used for the online mode. As it would take too long to select a car from your full garage as well as tune it between races so this would be useful to narrow down the selection. It may also upload the cars to your online profile on the PD servers rather than be tied to your own PS3.

Whale shark? Cat fish? :)

Huh... what's up with the scroll bar next to the themes? Are there more than 4?

Also, turn signals are on the HUD of this B-spec screen:

I think this has been commented on before, but that scrollbar suggests there would be nine or ten options on that screen. Of course, that screen's been around for a while and may only have been a mock-up - better to assume only four until we have a more concrete reason to believe otherwise.

Good spot. It took me a while to see them, even though I was looking specifically for them and had a reasonable idea where they'd be...

The turn signals are age old, as is the scroll bar. Let's make it simple, everything there is to be found at the moment has been found.

Typical generic GT sound for the cars. I thought they worked on the engine notes?

This is how an Enzo sounds!

Not meaning to start the old arguments again. I'll get my coat :indiff:

The final sounds won't be heard until the release-version of the game, and they are supposed to have been improved (Kaz said sound, physics and online are the three defining features of GT5). For the moment, it sounds to my ears as if all the PS3-era sounds (so far) are composites of modified GT4 samples.

Also, I'm pretty sure that Enzo you posted has an aftermarket exhaust, or at least a modified stock exhaust (in some way).

How about waiting for the full game before judging the Nascar-part of the game? I'm no Nascar fan but I think that it's gonna be awesome in GT5.

I second. I have the strong impression that they still have to unveil a lot of things (Nascar included) .

Guys, I didn't hear much back when it was first announced and don't know how much has been released, but does anyone here have any ideas as to what kind of features we're gonna have when it comes to exporting replays to Youtube?

I'm hoping we'll be allowed to at least export the replays in 720p and won't be limited time wise (hello Forza 30 seconds), but I have a feeling that files get pretty large and PD might not have the bandwidth for it.

you upload your videos to your YouTube channel and that has nothing to do with PD bandwidth, secondly replays are stored as data, you download the data and the game loads all of the parameters for that person's race as it happened. it's not filmed and then streamed to your console like a Netflix movie.

Second that, not to mention it's indoors! lol. BTW Griffith, the sound in that McLaren video you posted is amazing. I remember watching that on TV!

Youtube uploading is part of the PS3 Developers Kit, but hardly any games have taken advantage of it... however, I don't think there's any specific limit on resolution or length, apart from what Youtube specify, so I'd think 720p/longer videos are possible and only really limited by upload speed more than anything because it all gets uploaded directly via Youtube. To be fair though, I only ever tried this with Noby Noby Boy, PD may handle it differently.

Remember the Ferrari California trailer and some other trailers had drivers with no helmets/race suits.

I wonder if we can have/make avatars?
Also whats with the roof up/down will we have a choice or will such cars have active animated folding roofs?
