Okay, ignore all my questions up to this point.

I finally pre-ordered the collector's edition, but still, something is confusing me. There's a special order - pre-order the standard edition and get the stealth SLS AMG. On the order review screen, the name and price matched up with the collector's edition, but it still said I qualified for the special offer and would get the access code when it shipped. I'm assuming this is just a computer glitch and I'm still getting the CE, but still, what's going on here?

I pre ordered the Collectors Edition from Gamestop, and I confirmed with the retailer that I will indeed receive the McLaren Stealth car and NASCAR car. So it may just be an Amazon thing.

I have looked at that and if it is carwash its pretty weird shampoo, It looks pretty like a custom paintjob though so I'm still confident.

I believe you are wrong. So be prepared to be disappointed.

But hey, if you are indeed correct, I am sure a ton of people here will be very happy.:)

Getting a bit worried...overheard in Gamestop today GT5 could be delayed AGAIN. Not sure if they were joking. Maybe this is the reason theres no info being released?

I'm not sure how true this is,coming form a Gamestop employee, but i went in and made my last payment on GT5.

We started talking about the game and he told me that Polyphony bought out Nascar 2010 so you will be basically getting a version of Nascar 2010 within the game, hence the Nascar vehicles.

If this is true,i have my doubts,i just wonder how many more Nascar tracks we will be getting in the game?

Sorry to post this info here, wasn't sure where else to post this.
I was told something similar when I first preordered mine.

Fact is, most Gamestop employees know very little about video games. I have become convinced that most incorrect video game rumors come from them.

When I was buying up the necessary peripherals for my CECHA Triple, I was told by a GameStop employee (who happily no longer seems to work at the local store) that, even though they didn't have any Memory Card adapters to sell me, I should just plug my PS2 into my PS3 with a USB cable and copy my saves that way. Needless to say, I was quite amazed at the suggestion, though I didn't say anything at the time.

The moral of the story is that most GameStop employees are morons. They only know about release dates for games because they are plastered to the desk in front of the cash register, and the only things that they tend to actually know anything about themselves is "Bro" stuff (Madden, Halo, etc.). Take none of what they say with any suspension of disbelief.

Yeah, Lilday but that has already been posted on the other page but no regrets mate!Everybody makes a mistake and yeah GT5 is going to be outselling every game this year.I'm proud of what Kazunori and his team made for us and improved what the last game lacked.Big thank you to Polyphony Digital!

Another one I haven't seen before

Ahrweiler_BadNeuenahr03_BMW_M3Coupe07_001.jpg

I'm sure I've seen it before amongst many screenshots, and haven't given it much notice until now but I do find this picture intriguing with the Golf ( or any car ) in the background and further back in the picture I think I see a glimpse of another car in a different street perhaps?
I'm not suggesting some free roam city or village ( still hoping though ) but maybe a dynamic Photo Mode location with cars ( and people? ) passing by, flags waving in the wind ( weather? ).
Or has this already been mentioned or confirmed before? I remember GT4's Photo Mode ( besides Photo Drive or whatever it was called ) to be mostly static if I recall correctly.

Nobody picked up the NASCAR license for the past couple years. Activision is now releasing NASCAR 11 however out this February.

BTW, it seems like it would be EASY for Sony to put the store demo up on the PSN servers TODAY for us! PLEASE?

I dont think the store demo would work well as a home demo because of the 2 min time limit. That would get very annoying at home.

Also I think there are more tracks than Sony or PD would want to include in a at home demo.

But yes. It would be very nice for them to give some sort of demo pretty please :)

There must be a reason why Sony and PD are being so quiet.

This game is huge...Possibly going to be the best selling exclusive ever. Maybe they have something up their sleeve, or are waiting for it to go gold. (Although I'm assuming it must have already gone gold by now, if not they're cutting it short imo.)

I can't think of any exclusives that are impossible for GT5 to overtake. (Eventually.)
GT3. There. Done.

The situation with GT6 may be different, but as it stands the PS3's current market share precludes the ability to assume that GT5 will be the best selling anything other than PS3 game.

The image is from Gamescom 2010 https://www.gtplanet.net/66-stunning-gran-turismo-5-screenshots-18-megapixels/ almost at the end of the 66 pics.

Another neat idea for GT5: That overhead map in previous games where you chose between the races/options/garage/car showrooms/events etc. I think it would be cool if it was turned into some sort of 3D 'free-roam' mini-city where you actually drove to the events/car showrooms in your current car. Something to do between races.

Ehhhhh, I would rather not. Aimless driving is something that GTA or the Sims might be better suited for. You should play those instead.

No.

Except you don't know that, do you?

Here's a list of GT's sales.

First games on a given hardware tend to out-sell the "sequel", whilst sales have generally been higher on successive hardware (excluding the PSP, since it's not a true successor). The environment of each game's release, and beyond, has been different, though, so it's impossible to assert these trends any further. At least as far as GT is concerned.

Who knows, GT5 might eventually out-sell GT3 (despite GT3's insane head-start...) Europe would seem to be the clincher in that respect, but I doubt sales in the US will be that slow.

EDIT: Golfman's idea isn't that bad, especially if it's entirely optional (e.g. pressing triangle instead of X to drive) - I will admit that it's not very "GT" though. But then GT5 isn't shaping up to be altogether "GT" either... :P

It's the first time I have seen this screen shot, and man, now that you point a few things out..

A dynamic photo mode would be amazing.

However, I still think what we see here is nothing more then static, but I would still love to use this setting.:)

Quick question.

The photo mode malarky.

Is it possible to take pics and put them to memory stick for printing off a pc.
I've heard there 18 megapixels or equivalent.

If no one knows then I'm not surprised lol.

Given that images could indeed be saved to USB drive in GT4, I would expect / hope this feature would be available, at least via the XMB, after the game "exports" images to local storage.
