What I meant is that it sounds very similar to some race cars in GT4. The sound maybe has been slightly tweaked and and sound engine is surely better than GT4, however I swear I've already heard that sound (or at least a very similar version) somewhere in GT4.

I remember in GT2 especially, when you upgraded the engine in a lot of the high powered cars, they sounded similar, too similar in fact. Same goes with the race cars.

Now the engine in the F1 isn't stock so it's bound to sound different than its road version, but wow, it's in a whole 'nother ballpark.

I DON'T mind it though.

But okay, I know about the Russian mistranslation,
but then what about the German retailers receiving note of a delay ?
Germany is close enough to get me worried.
Why is it so hard for Sony to react to these rumours.

Hate to brake this to you, but dirt IS reflective. Try walking a desert on a bright sunny day. Just look at the dirt on the moon, it so reflective it looks like it glows. But, yeah, dirt is reflective.
 
I've been asking myself why the lack of GT5 hype at this late date. With the Russian delay confirmed, I would not be surprised if all regions are not delayed yet again 1-3 months. The "technical" reasons explanation for the ~one month delay is unlikely to be just a language related delay. I hope it's not the case.
 
now for the first time I'm getting a bit nervouse.
I've scheduled my last free days around the release.. :nervous:

The last excuse was production issues if I remember correctly.
My March 2011 guess might come to fruition yet.
 
Only good to come from a delay for me, I could get some cash together to build a cockpit. 💡 But i'd rather not have a delay, obviously.

Five stealth cars? You mean the Five GT5CE cars, they're not stealth(black). The stealth car(one) is a bonus for pre-ordering the CE.

hmmm, rumor that the game will be delayed... NOOO DONT DO THIS TO US PD!!!, like all of you mentioned here, why can't PD comment on that?!

If PD were to be on the stock market, i can asure you thats PD's value would be below a dollar cent... and thats because of lack of news...

I noticed this morning that the GT5 product page at Newegg.com now lists the release date as 11/04/2010. I had a chat with one of the CSRs:

I'm not sure this means anything, but I might as well share.
 
I will secretly (not so secretly anymore) be sort of glad if GT5 gets delayed for about a month or so. The only video games I play are Call of Duty and GT, and as it stands, the newest version of each series releases within a week of each other. It will be hard to distribute my time if GT5 indeed does release on November 2nd.
 
Don't worry guys.It will be only delayed in Russia and then why would gamestop post four weeks of gt5 footage till the scheduled release.The release for the other countries will still be the same.And you know sony is not so stupid to do that when their are already so many pre-orders.Trust me it will be released on the scheduled days.
 
Does anyone know why the non-English European official GT web sites do not appear to have been updated since GamesCom?

It's possible. There is just no talk of this game outside of the message boards. The game hasnt been confirmed gold, there are no ads, no marketing, nothing. It's still in the dark, apparently just a few weeks before release. Doesn't seem right to me.

If this got bumped to say march 2011 that would not surprise me one bit. I would be ok with that, I have fallout to keep me busy.

Thanks, man, but I know it's reflective, since I wouldn't be able to see it otherwise... :P

What I meant is the "[WIKIPEDIA]specular highlight[/WIKIPEDIA]" isn't diminished (much?) by the dirt, it should be more matte than shiny (or diffuse, instead of coherent; random, not parallel.) This effect is definitely possible, though most methods use texture- / buffer-based processing, which the PS3 is already "short of".

I should probably wait for a better quality version anyway (it's an "official" video, so I'm expecting it to appear on the official websites at some point.)

EDIT: OK, so it's old... but it wasn't there an hour ago in the news... oops. :ouch::embarrassed:

The McLaren on the dirt course suggests that most if not all car can race on dirt. Although, It would more appear seem that the track the McLaren was on was a created track. It'll be interesting to drive a NASCAR on dirt. Imagine doing oval dirt track racing. 👍
