My problem (and I believe that this problem is sharable with many of us) is the release of the game. I won't see a news that says: "GT5 delayed again for the introduction of the bikes".
I just want the game but I love both motorcycles that cars!

lol Exactly. đź‘Ť

If bikes are just DLC once we finally get the game in our hands, I won't mind at all. :)

Seriously that won't happen, if ( and only if as it's not confirmed, just a possible scenario not even decided yet ) it would happen I guess only as DLC, an add-on game or ( most likely scenario in my opinion ) TT2 as a full seperate title.

Back to Dubstep for a second, this guy actually makes it look kinda cool...

But the greatest thing is the first comment.

Regarding bikes, why not? It's not like the game is going to get delayed again for it. If it's in, then it is already in. And if we get a nice surprise and get bikes, then I don't see how that is a bad thing. :odd:

That's clearly a problem, since they don't imply any delay to GT5 just because PD is looking at the possibility of adding bikes. (beaten by analog)

They say they will look into later, if there is a strong demand.

But the real problem is if you guys will accept PD splitting their workforce between the addition of bikes\TT sequel and the GT support after release (more cars and tracks, phasing out standard cars, etc).

Thankyou for that and I apologise to you Kusogaki good sir.

@ amar212, I like bikes, but I'd rather cars as DLC.

No worries.

Very few car enthusiasts also like bikes. No need to put them in GT.

And financially, it makes a lot more sense to create a full-price sequel for Tourist Trophy. Perhaps add dirt bikes and quads.

Really off-topic: The way he's dances is retarded... looks like a really bad mix between poplockin', the robot and C-walkin'..... đź‘Ž

On-topic: I wouldnt mind bikes... Even though I have no idea how to drive them fast.... and I believe lines also differ a great deal on track. I was never good at SBK or MotoGP.. :P Also never played TT....

What is the problem guys? You don't like the bikes? :D

Variety is good, after all original GTHD concept had cars and bikes in the same game and I see no problem with that.

Bring it on PD.

How do you multiqoute? :D

I like bikes but not in the same game... Ok maybe in an action game, for example in Burnout it was fun to drive... But not in an real driving simulator...

If they don´t mix bikes with cars in GT5 then it´s no problem... Also no license tests or other races with bikes, only optional and not in the career mode... It´s not a bike game it´s a car game...

Agreed, they got the engine, they got the tracks... It would take 1-2 years to make TT2... MS and T10 would milk the dollars out of us.

My dog makes a strangely similar noise to the first 15 seconds of this video, growling at me, whenever she wants me to take her out to the street.

This frightens me, thinking that someday I will be back home only to find my dog doing those noises and my 6 year-old son moving in a most awkward way like that guy in the video :nervous: ...

(Seriously... is this even classified as music?)

Cars, cars and again only cars. there is no place for bike in GT5 or at least it can be an addition for those who wants a bike in the game. i didn't buy a G27 to ride a bike with it. soon they will add trucks, diggers, tractors. they better add more cars content and finally release the game rather than to spend their time on adding some bikes :nervous:

The french Amazon list GT5 for the 8th dezember 2010!!

Signature Edition: 8th Dezember

180 Euro.

17th of December (dunno which year though) in Cyprus (Europe)
Could you please stop posting dates? It's really annoying.

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=117303
# The release date that comes from SCE or Polyphony Digital themselves is the actual, albeit projected, release date.
# A release date that comes from a shop, a shop's website, a shop employee or anything to do with a shop is not the release date unless there's a fluke coincidence

Retailer dates are not reliable, more so even now since PD hasn't issued a new release date. Some retailer such as Amazon.com (US) are holding the Nov 2 date, while others are pushing the date into next year. When (if) PD releases the new date at the end of the month watch all the retailer dates change quickly.

These two morons are my personal Dubstep favorites :D

Does that mean you keep having to do the 'pulling up your hankchief' move every 5 seconds as well? Wow, I can see a lot of people trying to copy Michael Jackson's dance moves.... :sly:

I'll agree with a full price separate game making more sense financially perhaps and for more practical reasons like for those who play with a wheel ( which I don't ) and the objections posed by fundamental car/bike separatists on both sides ( only heard the car fanatics oppose in this thread so far ).

But I really doubt that statement of very few car enthusiasts liking bikes, ofcourse there are plenty of enthusiasts with a clear preference or exclusive interest in either bikes or cars but there are more than enough who have an interest in both.
Enough to justify a possible optional integration I guess in some form or other, although ( like mentioned before ) most likely not happening for now at least.
Wouldn't mind it though, I like both.

Bikes would be awesome.

Anybody who says different is just being awkward and trying too hard to be different. It would only add to the game...It would take nothing away therefore where is the problem? Nobody would force you to ride them.

And before Amar posted that not so subtle hint... I was going to share this link.

I really hope this isn't a vague empty promise by PD that they won't be able to actually come to the party with post GT5's release... They really shouldn't talk about possible DLC or features that may or may not even make it to gamers before committing to do it. I think Kaz's mouth has a tendency to run a bit early, like Peter Molyneux's a bit.

I would be frankly amazed if bikes seriously make it in GT5 as DLC or not.

Edit: And if the bikes DO appear down the track (aware of pun, too tired to intentionally avoid it), its going to be fun watching GTP people get annoyed that more cars aren't made premium instead. Personally I think bikes would be great fun.

I wouldn't mind seeing bikes again, but it doesn't sit well with me bikes being introduced to GT. I believe it takes away from the essence of GT being "The Real Driving Simulator", not the riding simulator. If for some odd reason Kaz decides to go with it, the title should be changed to "GranTurismo5+" or "GT-TT" or something of the other.

That link earlier in the thread is what started the whole discussion.

I started the discussion of bikes in this thread yesterday after a friend at Uni mentioned how awesome it'd be.

Its either a coincidence that the gaming website suggested it, or they read through this thread and decided to start a rumor.

Edit:

Also, what does 'Gran Turismo' actually mean? Grand Touring or something? or is it just a fictional video game name which has come to have its own meaning over time.

Edit 2:
A grand tourer (Italian: gran turismo) (GT) is a high-performance luxury automobile designed for long-distance driving. The most common format is a two-door coupé with either a two-seat or a 2+2 arrangement. Wiki Prevails?
