Gran Turismo = The Real Driving Simulator = cars
Tourist Trophy = The Real Riding Simulator = bikes

No need to put the bikes in GT or even vice versa.
It doesn't make sense.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-bikes. Not at all. But they don't belong in Gran Turismo, which is a car game, for car people, with cars and car stuff.
Especially if they have Tourist Trophy as an established brand for bikes, bike people and bike stuff.

Bikes would be awesome.

Anybody who says different is just being awkward and trying too hard to be different. It would only add to the game...It would take nothing away therefore where is the problem? Nobody would force you to ride them.

Rubbish. PD has finite resources. Any time spent modeling bikes is time spent not modeling cars. That takes away from the game.

Whoever posted it first doesn't matter, we're all just trying to supply possible info for fans of the game. Who really cares about possibly duplicating a link if there is a chance it is new? If making a whole new thread, different story.

Edit: More importantly, perhaps the bikes from TT were modeled well enough to put straight in GT5? Its not like PD are embarrassed to include PS2 assets (tehe half joking). My memory remembers TT's bikes being noticeably higher quality than GT4's cars (hence why only 4 raced at once?)... So including bikes might not take away from getting more premium cars done at all.

Would it not be easier for them all to be on one disc? Saving you spending double the cash...

(Assuming no features were taken away.)

Adding bikes would not take anything away from the cars, it would still be the real driving simulator, just with another addition.

Lets just say I'd rather have bikes than these:

How? You think they're still adding cars to GT5 right now? Nope. The game has gone gold...over 1,000 cars is enough for anybody without just being ridiculous.

Question of the day is...

... Are those bikes to be added, Premium or Standard?! 💡

@Lilday

Those two are amongst the most important cars in automobile history. Their inclusion in GT5 does make a lot more sense (context-wise) than the inclusion of bikes.

I'm fine with the addition of bikes. I'll likely will chose not to race with them, as I will likely do with the Standard vehicles. To each its own.

800 standard cars. Would you rather they spent time converting them to premium or would you rather have bikes. With a finite resource you can have one or the other. Not both. What is difficult to understand about that?

In terms of forum knowledge and posted messages :dunce:

Hahahaha What?

Forum knowledge? What the... :dopey: Everybody gets to read the same pages.

Posted messages? Seriously?

Just because he doesn't share his opinion does not mean he does not frequent this place as much as anybody else. It does not mean he's any more out of touch than someone who posts for the sake of posting. And so on and so forth...... :dunce:

GT6 can easily have both.

Have you learned nothing about KY yet? He won't stop until its perfect. If he wanted GT6 to have 1000 premium cars & bikes then PD would make it happen.

And in all honesty I don't care about the standard cars any more. I race on chase camera anyway, so the cockpit is of no loss to me, and the standards will still look a reasonably good.

And I agree with Gejabo (Post below this v)

In that case I'll go with the bikes:sly:

200 premium cars is enough for me to be honest

If bikes are added as DLC, most likely there wouldn't be any events to race them in. GT5's world is setup for cars. PD would have to go thru a lot of work for it to be added seamlessly. I would think if someone wanted to enjoy bikes to it's fullest they would want a title solely devoted to bikes?

I rather have those in Premium instead of many of the skylines... or bikes... :P

Any resource spent on bikes is a wasted resource that should be spent on cars. This is my opinion.

Your opinion differs therefore we are never going to agree on this matter.

haha why, they're slow and painful. Useless online & offline...and pointless in photo-mode because they look dumb.

Obviously this is your opinion but in my opinion driving these cars is like living in the playboy mansion but sleeping with Oprah.

Fair point, but my point is that Implementing bikes into GT5 would require less resources than creating an entire TT2. And would also save money.

God I can't believe some of you, if you don't want the damn bike package than DON'T BUY IT, at least this will give us even more variety. As someone said before, "how can more variety be a bad thing." And whose narrow minded statement was it that said "car enthusiasts aren't into bikes?" I'm a car enthusiasts and I'm just getting into the bike scene, going for my license this spring.

I think with the integration of bikes we could see open track days like what goes on at the Nurburgring where cars will just be driving along and you see the occasional bike every now and then. Can I get an awesome?

And if demand is all PD is looking for I'm going to make like a hundred accounts that say "I want bikes for DLC in GT5" And that's another gripe I have, some of you are just saying "no bikes in gt5, it's a car game etc" without having read the psm article...IT'S DLC!! meaning it's OPTIONAL! You don't like..then don't buy!

God I want my bikes...you hear that PD?

I WANT BIKES AS DLC IN GT5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man.Inclusion of bikes takes time. And time is MOST CRITICAL subject for PD.We have "only 200" cars. All of us want them more.Personally I want more premiums instead of bikes!

Good things come to those who wait in life.

Dont mind the bikes if their career and online race modes are completely separate from those of the cars just like real life. I would however take more premium cars any day of the week instead of them.

Year after year the classic japanese cars get harder and harder to find, so if Polyphony manages to capture those in a super high res model we can at least have a 3D encyclopedia of sorts for ourselves and future generations to see how the cars that started our passion for this game looked and handled.

Remember this is not only a games forum, but its a car enthusiasts site, so the majority of people will disagree with you.

In terms of having bikes in GT5... If it were a choice between more cars or more bikes, well I'd have to go with cars over bikes.

Your basically saying a different game. I agree.
If people want bikes and cars then play PGR. If the thought of Xbox makes you an angry person, then play motorstorm or SBK X.

Let PD make a separate game for Bikes, trucks, quads, tractors etc.

people what are you smoking :) ?

If kaz will have interest in bikes he will just do Tourist Trophy 2 with an engine of GT5 :)

This is how TT was created :)

Why? Because I actually liked to drive that Model-T in GT4 for one, simple as that ( exactly for the reasons you hate it apparantly ).
Those 19th Century Benz and Daimler were put in the supposedly encyclopedia of automotive history called GT4 for their historic significance and to use as a reference point to show how cars have progressed since.
The fact you could experience them at all in a videogame ( where else? ) and therefore their obviously poor performance figures means you might appreciate the progress made over more than a century and maybe even respect these early machines for their role in automotive history.
Saying they look 'dumb' says it all I guess and a highly subjective 'argument' providing no compelling reason at all to consider changing my opinion.

That's fair but how much longer do you think it take them to render a premium car as oppose to a bike, they have to find these cars, photograph their interiors, and recreate it in a painstaking 4-6 months process. The bike is bare and doesn't need much to render. I'm pretty certain for DLC they'll have upcoming new cars, hopefully the new SSC Aero, when those cars actually do come out. I'm sure they can work on both but bikes should be a lot less time consuming and something to entertain the fans with while they wait for other DLC.

Oh i just remembered another argument someone had about bikes "I don't want to be riding a bike with my g27" umm...if you had tourist trophy, what would you be using?? a controller...so is the ds3 disabled and does it force you to use a wheel for gt5??? didn't think so..
