/Tuned or Concept by GT cars were never in GT4, and the ones in GTp are specific models only because the tuning shop was not featured in the prologue, meaning the only way to get a tuned version of your car was through Concept by GT. Oh and quick tune doesnt count because it is basically car setting like in every GT but with the option of upping the bhp.

I thought there was a section in GT4 where you could buy "tuned" cars like the HPA Golf, I sold my PS2 and games last year so can't check.

About the tuned cars. I doubt there will be many of them though. Because think about it there's not going to be a tuned version of every single model. Maybe only 15 or 20. So it wont be that much of a big deal.

But something else I've been thinking.. Maybe you can upgrade your car to the tuned version. Like that thing they had in GT2 where you can convert it to the race car and all that. So instead of having it as a separate car, it's an upgrade after you've purchased it. I might be wrong but it's an interesting thought in my opinion.

Edit: Or they'll have it both ways. Some tuned versions and for the rest of the cars it's offered an upgrade.

Sounds feasible and would be useful to differentiate between completely stock unmodifed cars and cars the player has upgraded.

On the TechCrunch Interview on the main page, Chris Hinojosa-Miranda confirms full hand cross over when they're viewing game footage after the Kaz interview! About 1 hour 11 mins into the video.

That's actually quite interesting... the demo certainly doesn't showcase this feature but that guy seemed to know what he was talking about... who knows.. maybe the final game will feature it..

He's an SCEA Associate Producer, so he definitely knows about features in the full game.

What is "full hand cross over"? Sorry if it is a stupid question.

The hands in Prologue doesn't go beyond a certain degree of turning, whereas in early videos and GT4 (where visable) the driver's hands would keep turning the wheel to match real life, including hand-over-hand animations.

Also, I've just messaged Chris on facebook asking about any other features he might be able to talk about. I don't expect a response, but what the hell, eh?
Would be good if he made his way over here, even if Sony might not approve.

Cheers for giving me an answer. I hope that the driver’s hands in the game correspond to my hands on the G27.

Not sure if anyone else has noticed, but in the GT5 3d video from gamer.tv it shows a car coming off the track and onto the grass at 1:30. In the GT5 TT, it felt like the grass and gravel physics were the same, taking an age to get back on the track. It Looks like they have improved this as when the car crashes, it seems to be able to pull away quite easily. What do you think?

Looks to me the driver "abandoned" and the car keep going through the grass until it cut across the track in the next opposite corner.

This video is from before prologue was released.. if you fast forward to the end of the video, there is hands cross over allready.

Yes, we all know that. It was taken out of prologue though, apparently because they weren't happy with the animation of the hands (as stated in the video you posted). Now we have confirmation it will be back in GT5, no doubt improved.

sorry, check out from 1:45 where the car has stopped on the grass and then drives off. If you compare to GT5 TT, it's very different.

You're right! It stops on the cement. But when the driver restarts he cut's across the grass and turns in to the track quite sharply. No wet grass effect there... We may be seeing a preview of not only different grip levels on track depending on the surface, but also off the track depending on the type of surface/grass etc.

But what a big "maybe" this is :)

Edit: They may just have kept the grass physics/grip from GT4 nurburgring in this demo and it may be different on final release. Hope not :)

Also glad to hear they have the mirrors in mind. In prologue the rear view ALWAYS looked like this:

(p.s. Thats an F430 in the pic :P)

Wouldnt make sense, dont forget that they threw away the whole code from GT4 for GT5. Its completely developed from scratch.

Yeah. The fact its so similar is probably down to the fact they had it almost spot on in GT4. And they've used the same tricks to reduce the graphics workload, which is why the background looks pretty much the same too. Only the lighting is truly different, the textures are basically the same just higher quality.

jep, that sony representative confirms a few things after the interview with KY: there will be full hand motion on the wheel to match your own steering input; there will be "mind-blowing" damage!

I don't know why no one here is going berserk over this! I think this is awesome news!

It seems like that God of War III is coming on march 16th in the USA... The JP release date was announced earlier for march 26th... So there is a little hope that they do the same with GT5 I think...

It adds realistic feel, I was a bit unhappy with this on GT5P and adds one step closer to perfection. But it didn't rock me that much :)

I'm dissapointed with engine sounds I heard in the Nurb-ring video posted on the news page. I was expecting PD to have worked seriously on the engine sounds, but when the TVR passed I heard the exact same stupid car sound that was in GT4.
