According to a Tweet by someone who works for a Dutch gaming magazine and TV show, the new release date is 28 January 2011.

According to me, the new release date is 24 april 2011, but it doesn't matter.

Why can't we just wait for Sony to announce the new release date instead of writing down everyone's speculation?:)

Exactly! in less then a week we should know the new and hopefully final release date, just sit and wait patiently! :D

I thought so also until Amar posted this just after someone else said the same thing at Neogaf

I'm very sceptical at this moment, but time will tell.

Amar's comments have been very accurate so far, so now I am not so sure...

I'd like to see you say that stuff to Kaz and Sony. Tell them their a sham and that they suck, see if he gives you the time of day. He kindly would, and say something professional and calm like a Japanese would. But me? I'd smack you with your copy of GT5, and take it away from you for your complaining.

I see people like you and think to myself, these are the guys that don't have any clue as to the complexity that games such as GT are. You magically think that Kaz can just make us a GT5 and release it tomorrow or something? You guys here lack patience. There's a thing called a PS3. It has a lot of other video games that you can play. It even has a thing called Home. And you can get Netflix on it too! Did ya know it also has downloadable games as well?

There's no reason to be hasty in waiting for GT5. No reason to call Kaz or Sony out. Delays? Who cares, I've been more than satisfied waiting for those AWESOME Gran Turismo games. I play other crap racers like NFS:Shift or Forza and even Ridge Racer, they don't hold a candle to the realism that is GT. Quality takes time. I'd rather they take their time and solve all the kinks and release it when it's finalized. Not like NFS:Shi(f)t and it's update patches that still don't work for helping the cars handle.

If you like mediocrity, then GT5 should have been released last year. If you like quality, then GT5 should be released when it's done.

You are way off base. I could care less about when GT5 comes out personally. I more or less follow what they are doing from a business standpoint. To be honest, when I get the game, I won't even play it much because I have a life outside of "playing other games, downloading games, watching Netflix, and going on Home". I work at least 50 hours a week in home and at the office, I golf 4-5 days a week, I have a dog and a fiancee to worry about, etc.

What I did was merely point out my opinions on a potential release date and then call this whole thing comical because PD and Sony HAVE lied multiple times, and they are overthinking the entire process of releasing a GAME. You would think with them being around as long as they have that this part of the process would come as second nature, but it is clearly overthought on a lot of processes.

"Paralysis by analysis", and right now it seems that PD/Sony are paralyzed by the situation GT5 has brought them.

It will be a GREAT game, no doubt, but I know for sure there are times that they would take back when it's all said and done.

Oh, and you'd smack me? That's kind of a feminine move, is it not?

2011 US fiscal year started this October. Sony is in no hurry.

Actually the US fiscal year is July to June, so the fiscal year started July 1.
WHY? People go crazy on black friday cause they "think" everything is cheap, they don't go out to buy regularly priced items.
No, some people go out for the great deal, but most of those you have to get out before daylight. There are still more people out shopping that day, later in the day, into the night, than any other shopping day of the year, at least around where I live. I think it is more of a tradition now, than just good deals. Point being, whether the shoppers are out for the great deals, or the tradition, there are more shoppers on that day than any other day in the holiday season. If they are already out that day, a huge GT5 poster or display on that day will draw alot of attention, and cause it to sell to the casual customer (shopping for new games for their children), and maybe even sell GT5/PS3 bundles to those shoppers. So, a Nov 23 release in the US would generate big release day sells to the ones that have waited so long and are anticipating the game, and have great black Friday numbers also to the casual customers, for a big release date week in the US

I hate to say this but, this is what happens when you have a artists and engineers with great passion to build/develop something without somebody to manage them. You'll eventually have something that's the best thing since slice bread. keyword "eventually". :)

Sony, one of the biggest companies in the world and it seems like they got nothing under control...

If we get no rls. date this week...

But anyway... nothing under control...

I mean, how can such an BIG company make such foolish mistakes with the clearly most important title since the PS3 has been released?

How? when call of duty is not a racing game, the way you say it makes it seem like nobody knows what other games exist when a call of duty game comes out. Sales will be just fine when the game comes out regardless of what other genre of game is out.

it's pretty much saying Taylor swift's new album will obliterate Coldplay's new album sales which is in a different genre

No it isn't saying that, if you bothered to read my posts you'd know what I said.
What you're saying is that GT5 competes for sale with nothing but other racing games which is pretty stupid in my opinion. Like I said, I'm betting that more than 50% of GT players are casual gamers that pick up good games as they hear about them so yes, each game would've affected the others' sales.

I thought PD missed the deadline.
It doesn't matter who missed what, it's Sony's fault as the publisher.
A publisher should have total control over a games release setup and they should have clear comminucation with PD at all times.
A game as big as GT5 isn't one where you can delay it at this time of the day and they should have had a clear schedule from the E3 release date reveal.
So SCEJ, damn you.

Yep, some aren't buying other games ( racing or completely different genres ) due to buying GT5 as well, this works both ways as others treat GT5 as just another game to pick up eventually.
Not everyone regards GT5 ( weird I know ) as the title they look forward to the most.

I agree. I was one of those that was picking up GT5 and not black ops simply cause of release dates. Now however, it's the other way around. What hurts GT5 in my eyes is the type of game COD is. The best time to play the game is the first 3 months or so. After that the game usually goes to complete and utter junk.

In the US it was but i'm not sure about Europe and that's the games biggest territory. But it's worth pointing out the sales of games in general rise greatly during November and December and then fall after that. This is why so many companies push their games into those two months. They know that people will be spending money for Christmas and that after that there really won't be much money to go around (which is why the early part of the year is generally dead for gaming).

Good point, didn't think of that.

The japanese guy (nickname: Namazur) who took part to the filmings of the new We Love Cars commercial posted another blog entry!

New photos included

I see the new Honda Fit! I'm happy with that. No need for me to stay any longer.

I totally agree 👍, Sony should have been keeping tabs on them month by month and weekly during September and October up to release to make sure everything was moving along smoothly, but apparently they weren't.

I find it funny that suddenly, Sony as the worst company ever in marketing and PR all because of one game. One game. Not 10, not 20 or more, but one game. Maybe its just me, but this just reeks of insanity.

Er... if PD still haven't figured out what "deadline" means, it most certainly is partially their fault too. Not solely, but they're also not off the hook. Considering the time of year, it's not surprising that production schedules are tight at Blu-Ray production facilities, and if that's part of the reason this is taking longer than expected... well, too bad? Yeah, Sony could possibly shuffle around other jobs to make room for GT... but what kind of message does that send to every other product's developers that has to deal with a change in schedule for their on-time product? I know I'd be pissed if my game or movie got shuffled around because a first-party developer couldn't hit a deadline after 5 years of development.

What?! You mean... not everybody who plays games has this on pre-order?! Madness!

It's PD fault, not Sony. Remember lots of you said the games finished but Sony are not releasing it because they want to wait for 3d TV's.

Oh and move.

Well we have those two things but still no game.

So Sony haven't been cracking the whip enough on PD now, and it's all Sony's fault.
I don't believe that for one minute. Even Kaz saying about complex situations and being 3 days late still means it's Sony's fault.

I guess Kaz/PD can do no wrong here.

Well now, i still think it's hitting in November, sometime down the line.
