on the whole subject of the last-minute delay... yeah, i'm annoyed and feel like i've been crapped all over yet again (i've been patiently waiting for this game since 2008... since then i've had three birthdays and so much else has happened :yuck:) - but what can we do?

moaning and groaning about it does nothing; apart from allows us to wind ourselves up even more, that is. i pre-ordered the game at a total bargain price anyway (£27.95 inc. p&p - i had a £15-off voucher at Very.co.uk :sly:), so whenever it's out, i've a guaranteed copy! just gotta wait 'till that day..

all we can do is patiently wait (even more, *sigh*) for a new release date and see the highly-speculated game actually come to fruition. because i guarantee that day i come home from work, burst through my front door and ask my parents 'DID A DELIVERY FOR ME COME THROUGH TODAY!?!?!?!' will feel oh-so-satisfying!... i also guarantee i'll be saying '**** me, that was a LONG wait!'

until then, i've got Call of Duty, Medal of Honour (and my girlfriend) to play with :D

Read a couple of Japanese articles today and there seems to be a growing suspicion that GT5 won't make it onto the shelves in time for Christmas or perhaps even the end of this year.

If that's true, I think Sony have really disappointed a very loyal fanbase. So many people bought the PS3 in order to play GT5 and for them to get everyone's hopes up with the November 2/3/4 release date was just wrong. If the delay is in order to ensure the perfect playing experience then fair enough. But if it is to prevent them losing some $s from piracy then I think we the customers are getting a raw deal.

I am an optimist. Last year I bought a PS3 Slim in the hope of an early GT5 release (and because it was about time and the reduced price, etc).

Last week I bought a G27 in order to substitute my old DFP, and guess what? I just found that my old Playseat has a pedal base too small for the G27 pedals so I have to get a new one or do some DIY stuff. And in that sense, the delay in GT5 has brought a little of convenience for me, more time to fix my cockpit...

Is it suspicion based on gut feeling or anything concrete? The revised release date is due to be announced in October so they've got until Sunday, if there's no news by then all bets are off and the world will descend into chaos...it'll be just like that John Cusack movie.

Urgh, this thread has fallen into mass panic lately..

Whether its that the game will be released in 2012, or the title music isn't to your liking, or that GT5 won't have the limited edition car from 1977 that you want.

Please everyone, for the good of GTP, calm down and be patient for the game. Thank you.

Fighting piracy is just as important as providing a flawless game to a loyal fanbase. Ultimately, it is the gamers who suffer if the developers and console producers are not up to speed on their security measures. While some may judge PD (and Sony) entirely on how good GT5 is to play, we would do well to bear the bigger picture in mind and appreciate that piracy could put companies like PD out of business altogether, and how happy would fans of the GT series be then?

It's a pity that even the best game makers are seemingly struggling to get their games to the market in a timely fashion, but these delays really are a small price to pay if you ask me.

^ just makes it all-the-more exciting when it does eventually come out?! kinda... :indiff:

anyhow - as afforementioned, there are another 6 days left in October... so if i hear nothing by then, that's when i'll be real p*ssed off and unhopeful for a short-term release date for the game! :scared:

3:00 - don't recognize thit track
3:45 - sweet Italia damage

there is nothing new in that post, just the same story we discuss here all day long but in russian.

That's the Khumo corner of the Nürburgring GP track. On the right side you can see the Mercedes Benz Tribüne.

edit: lol, looks like someone was faster. ^^

uhm... sorry, I don't get the joke. Could someone explain it to me? So am I supposing that the Release Date (12/31/2010) isn't anything new?

Welcome to :gtpflag:
It's because it's just a place holder date. It's nothing new.
👍

COD and MOH in general are only good for multiplayer. and how are worldwide sales for Modern Warefare 2? Exactly in FACT according to NPD the best sales heck, most of the sales are from right here in the good ol' USA but, gran turismo is a WORLDWIDE brand the quality of the games is way too good to be overlooked. MW2? until Infinity Ward got the license Call Of Duty was average at best

"I LIKE COMPARING APPLES AND ORANGES...BOTH ARE DELICIOUS EITHER WAY!"

Um, Modern Warfare 2 is the highest selling game of all time in the UK. 20 million copies sold worldwide. It's definitely not just an American phenomenon. Also, Infinity Ward didn't "get the license", they created the Call of Duty franchise. The only place GT5 will outsell Black Ops is Japan.

Anyway... why are there 500 people online? Thought a date might've been announced or something :nervous:

Shareholders care about fiscal year numbers. 2010 fiscal year ends in march in JP and the 2011 US fiscal year started this October. Sony is in no hurry.

WHY? People go crazy on black friday cause they "think" everything is cheap, they don't go out to buy regularly priced items.

yes they are ! end of fiscal or not shareholders get jittery Rockstar games saw a slight share price drop because shareholders want to know when gta5 will be announced

Black Friday in the u.s is the start of the Christmas season, and is historically one of the busiest shopping days of the year regardless of low prices the number of shoppers out willing to spend money is the reason Sony will be aiming for this date.

there are always 300 to 700 people online all day long, must be at work (like myself) refreshing the pages every now and then :)

Yup, Sony was definitely planning on this game being available for Black Friday. They could potentionally sell hundreds of thousands of PS3's bundled with GT5 in that week alone.

Hi guys!

I know that this isn't an official SCEE dichiaration, but what do you think about this?

The article says 3 December both 27 January.

The wait for a "simple date" is killing me

It's more than likely just a placeholder date form the retailers ffs!

Yes I don't think PD would risk releasing it next year. Casual gamers probably don't take them seriously at the moment anyway. They have to release it before 2011.

I mean 500 people viewing the GT5 forum :P last few weeks it's been around 200 most of the time IIRC.

after the delay was announced people got stressed and counting every second and trying to hang on every new topic that comes around :) anyway we could not shift the time and I now sincerely believe GT5 will be worth the waiting and when it's released everyone will be happy and all these years of waiting will disappear in discussions about how to tune the cars and stuff like that.

Guys, the shops have to have an approximate date on their sites and this is why they are assuming and preparing for the worst. but no one should be speculating on the release date since it was not even announced yet by Sony and PD. Just chill and play GT5Prologue for now, if you have one :)
