Read a couple of Japanese articles today and there seems to be a growing suspicion that GT5 won't make it onto the shelves in time for Christmas or perhaps even the end of this year.
If that's true, I think Sony have really disappointed a very loyal fanbase. So many people bought the PS3 in order to play GT5 and for them to get everyone's hopes up with the November 2/3/4 release date was just wrong. If the delay is in order to ensure the perfect playing experience then fair enough. But if it is to prevent them losing some $s from piracy then I think we the customers are getting a raw deal.

Fighting piracy is just as important as providing a flawless game to a loyal fanbase. Ultimately, it is the gamers who suffer if the developers and console producers are not up to speed on their security measures. While some may judge PD (and Sony) entirely on how good GT5 is to play, we would do well to bear the bigger picture in mind and appreciate that piracy could put companies like PD out of business altogether, and how happy would fans of the GT series be then?If that's true, I think Sony have really disappointed a very loyal fanbase. Not a date, just a month.
From russian gaming site:
http://gameguru.ru/articles/934/view.html
I have no idea what are they talking about. Video is footage form some russian racing event, old trailers, but few parts are new for me:
2:26 - don't recognize this interior with track map on dash
3:00 - don't recognize thit track
3:45 - sweet Italia damage
3:00 - don't recognize thit track
Unfortunately, it's not.I think this is new
uhm... sorry, I don't get the joke. Could someone explain it to me? So am I supposing that the Release Date (12/31/2010) isn't anything new?Now we only have to wait for a reaction from Falango..

COD and MOH in general are only good for multiplayer. and how are worldwide sales for Modern Warefare 2? Exactly in FACT according to NPD the best sales heck, most of the sales are from right here in the good ol' USA but, gran turismo is a WORLDWIDE brand the quality of the games is way too good to be overlooked. MW2? until Infinity Ward got the license Call Of Duty was average at best
"I LIKE COMPARING APPLES AND ORANGES...BOTH ARE DELICIOUS EITHER WAY!"
Shareholders care about fiscal year numbers. 2010 fiscal year ends in march in JP and the 2011 US fiscal year started this October. Sony is in no hurry.
WHY? People go crazy on black friday cause they "think" everything is cheap, they don't go out to buy regularly priced items.
Um, Modern Warfare 2 is the highest selling game of all time in the UK. 20 million copies sold worldwide. It's definitely not just an American phenomenon. Also, Infinity Ward didn't "get the license", they created the Call of Duty franchise. The only place GT5 will outsell Black Ops is Japan.
Anyway... why are there 500 people online? Thought a date might've been announced or something
there are always 300 to 700 people online all day long, must be at work (like myself) refreshing the pages every now and then
It's more than likely just a placeholder date form the retailers ffs!
I mean 500 people viewing the GT5 forum last few weeks it's been around 200 most of the time IIRC.
Yes I don't think PD would risk releasing it next year. Casual gamers probably don't take them seriously at the moment anyway. They have to release it before 2011.
