I wonder why they bother making premium cars if people think that Veyron is premium! There's angular wheel arches and no panel modelling for starters. GT5's rendering system works wonders though.

For one, there is body modeling. The seams between the hood and the front fenders would be done with textures otherwise. Then there's the whole front grille, which is obviously modeled due to the visible depth and reflection shaders at work. Then there's the engine bay, which has a visible (and modeled) engine along with the retractable spoiler/airbrake.

Believe us, the Veyron is premium. Kaz wouldn't let it be otherwise and definitely wouldn't let it be simply upscaled with all the achievement it has garnished in the car industry.

Thank You, cause he just fails to see the car is 3d Modeled instead of a texture model.

That Veyron only a slightly tarted up version of the standard PSP model amazingly enough, but I'd be surprised if it didn't get premiumised for GT5.

That's because the pictures from the previous page use the GTPSP engine with a higher level of rendering. So you're comparing the Veyron from GTPSP to the Veyron from GTPSP. Well done.

We have reason to believe that the Veyron is a premium car; It's made to a higher standard than the standard cars. A point of comparison would be some of the standard cars made for GTPSP, such as the Lamborghini Countach. It is at a higher standard than cars like that, and all the cars made for GT5 have been made to the same high standards. An iconic car like the Bugatti Veyron would not have been ignored.

But CoolColJ has a point, why haven't we seen it yet? It is understandeable why it wasn't in Prologue, they will have wanted to hold it back (Even if it was modelled at the time). Maybe they think the GTPSP trailer/screenshots are enough. Well, no.

This shows all the things you mentioned.

If you want me to rephrase what I said to be more acceptable:

The Veyron in the postcards look great, but in GT5 it should look even better!!!11

It was said without directly saying it was gold. Sony mentioned that the game had missed the production date by 3 days. That implies that the game is finished and is simply waiting for a new production date...and thus, the game is gold...meaning it's ready for production.

As much as I want to believe this, and we've all discussed the 3 day issue... we haven't heard that from either Kaz or Sony themselves. The news article on the front page that mentions the 72 hour delay was a "source"...

reflection/normal maps/other shaders do whatever I want them to do, if I want my cube to reflect light like a sphere so god help me it'll reflect like a sphere.

Also, those seem to be GT PSP renders, like the ones with the ENZO which we have since seen and driven in the GT5 demos.

Why does it sound like a V10? I sincerely hope PD don't continue this trend with GT5...

EDIT: Turismo Tuesdays seems to update later in the afternoon in the UK, but others don't seem to be able to see the new stuff for several hours after that. Perhaps it knows where you're accessing from...

I'm going to invoke Dev's "false dichotomy" clause here. No, we can end up with a lot more options than just those two.
I am using broken product to explain a wide variety of incomplete statuses. A game that requires a day one patch to work properly is a broken product to me, as not everyone will have access to that.

Are you reading the same story I am?
https://www.gtplanet.net/gt5-missed-production-window-by-only-3-days-sony-determines-new-dates/

A GameReactor associate in Tokyo, Gregor Wildermann, has reportedly made contact with Polyphony Digital and Kazunori Yamauchi for further clarification on Gran Turismo 5’s production status:

[Kazunori Yamauchi's] reply was that the game was only three days late from their side, and that Sony has to decide what that means for the release.

This aligns with the other information I’ve received about review copies and release windows, and further suggests that GT5’s ultimate new release date will be determined by Blu-Ray production schedules – not software development.
Unless Gregor Wildermann is lying about having this communication, this is from Kaz.

Really hope so, finally fulfilling a lifelong dream without the need for surgery.

Nope they didn't, Porsche tried to take over Volkswagen and failed, it backfired enormously and Porsche ended up being taken over by Volkswagen ( they're now part of Volkswagen ).

My heart goes out to all those poor Porsche customers who lost money in the VW short.

There are much more iconic car's than Veyron... Veyron is fast only on drag race but not on track... McLaren F1 (F1 LM) are musch more iconic car and he win so many races! :) Alo Ferrari F50 and Lambo Diablo:sly:

Love it or loathe it, the Veyron is still an iconic car on a par with the McLaren F1 in my opinion ( completely different though and personally I prefer the Mac but still ) and something similar will probably not be build for a long time or even at all ( different times, etc. ).
The Fiat 500 is more iconic than both though.

Only fast in drag races? Is that why the Veyron Super Sport is #1 on the Top Gear Test Track?

Oh, agreed, but a game could also be released on time bug-free if it weren't for all the feature-creep and "oh, let's add that too!" moments...

Unless Gregor Wildermann is lying about having this communication, this is from Kaz.

That's actually what I'm getting at, since it hasn't been widely reported. There were reports "from Kaz" clarifying that all cars had cockpit view too, a few months back...

Why make a different thread if there's almost nothing to discuss newswise in this one? Unless there's a mind-boggling amount of new info to justify a separate thread which I somehow doubt.
At this point I'm tired of seeing new videos of the same cars seen before on the same tracks seen before, all we really need right now is a...( you guessed it ).
