 Man that video had me cracking up!

But seriously that looks terrible! What the hell? I don't care how old that demo build might be that should not be happening. Delay GT5 for another year if this is what we're getting........

Anyone else think that the invisible barriers are way too close to the track? You don't really suffer from your mistakes as you should be sliding across the grass, but instead you just kind of lean on an invisible fence. Kind of like you on your way home from the bar.

So I walked Into gamestop today, and got myself castlevania lords of shadow collector edition, while I was there I noticed the billboard uptop for release dates, they still had Nov 2nd, So I Sarcastically said, Scuse' me, but that date up there for GT5? Is that still happening? Because I've been told it's been postponed and that no one knows a release date, He let out a big sigh, and was like yeah well.... don't quote me on this but... all I know is we have been told a "street date" of January 2011, but I'm not sure of It's exact release date, that's all we've been told, I'm not sure if that's a place holder or a release date.

That's all, Just figured I'd toss that info in here. Not that it matters, no one knows when.

the invisible barrier seemed ridiculous at first but think about it, theres huuuge fields of grass @ top gear track, you make a mistake and you slide 50 meters outside the track xD then you take 15s+ to get back on the road, it would be annoying too

There appears to be a draw to win a Nissan 370Z at Playstation City in connection with GT5.

Google translation: “Try to win a nissan 370z by participating in the draw Playstation City

Confirm your participation by depositing the ballot into the ballot box passport.”

Do you find real life annoying.

Not having ago but that's what a simulators supposed to be about.
I'm not saying you should be able to roam off across fields but the barriers should be moved back a bit.

The problem with the Test Track is that it's different from every other track in the series. There are no barriers to close it off as a race circuit, so they've got to create invisible barriers in order to keep the track looking like the real track. They look far enough back from what i've seen. You'll have enough space to cut a corner to try to gain some time without cheating.

GT5 is ultimately still a game spagetti, many seem to forget that :s

but yeah i agree they should be moved back

It's about risk/reward. Do I push to try to gain a few tenths, knowing that a mistake could indeed cost an extra +15secs.
Or push anyway knowing I can bounce off invisible walls.

Really annoyed me back in my PS1 days with no damage and wall riding.

Your right though it's only a game.

Seing 'stars' running wide and bouncing across the grass or even spinning, especially on the last couple of corners, is all part of the charm of that segment of the TV show. If the GT5 version of the track doesn't allow you to replicate that, intentionally or not, or even use the same camera angles in replays, then PD are selling themselves short on their Top Gear license.

This thread is called GT5 Latest News and General Discussion Thread - lately it could be called GT 5 Lack of News and General bickering Thread...
Come on Sony, give us something to chew on. Even a late release date is better than no release date at all.

the wait for a release date seriously is killing me!

waiting for the game is bad enough... we've all been patiently holding on since March 2008 (when it was first supposed to come out all those years ago)....... but when we're still waiting with absolutely no idea when it's really coming out, but so much speculation of when it may come out (Jan 2011?! :scared:), it hurts bad, it irritates, it frustrates me!!

i really do hope they deliver a release date within the next few days....... let me look forward to the game rather than be frustrated by a lack of knowledge...... please, PD, PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE!!!!!!!!

i NEED a good, long-lasting, ever-changing PS3 game!!! GT5 is about all that can deliver it..... CoD, although a great game, is the same old every time....... there's SO much to do in a Gran Turismo game

It was a bit ironic but who knows... Imagine, Steve is giving Kaz an deadline for GT and then the game MUST be ready! No more delays like with EVERY GT title so far...Even the prologues lol... Ok maybe a buggy game but we got internet for patches...

I mean, for what an release date if they delay it with every title?
