Also the previous article apparently mentioned something about them visiting Polyphony. If that's the case then they probably saw the final build of the game which is how they'd be able to confirm Hockenheim.
Next someone will say something about Korea
Korea in the rain ! Add a few Formula one, and we can almost recreate last weekend 💡
Looks like it might be an ok track to race at and looks like it has 3(?) possible variations.

I see 5 variations.
In saying it won't handle 40 mins of racing you've pretty much just described almost every production road car ever made. Almost no road car is designed to be hammered for 40 mins on a track. There are the occasional track day specials which are more resililient to track use, but cars like the Veyron, Enzo and Zondas will all be knackered after 40 mins of on the limit track driving. The bottom line is the Veyron is insanely fast despite it's weight. It handles well despite it's weight and it laps a track very fast despite it's weight. And all of that is despite track performance not being on the cars agenda. You are right, it isn't a car designed for racing, but neither is an Enzo, it's designed to be a very fast road car. Try to race it without modifications and it will break, the same as a Veyron which was designed to be both a very fast road car and a very luxurious one at the same time.

Imagine if they modeled the old Hockenheim
Anyone know why this is now in the GT5 prologue section?

Right now I don't even think that we'll see the new one in the game, I have asked for confirmation but I'm rather expecting that it was a mistake by the writer of that article. I just hope that he'll respond to my mail - as soon as he does I'll post his answer here.

The "straight" section after the the tight hairpin is part of the old circuit. I remember that you'd come diving down past that new turn complex and enter the old short circuit. It might still be used as a motorcycle section, but I doubt it.
