A french user sad 3 of 4 page ago that in Paris there is no news, I mean something that we already know.
It's playable a TGS build version, nothing else except a billboard with write on " GT5: Christmas 2010".
Friday at 5.00 pm french time will be a Sony Conference. Fingers crossed!
I know all that, that's why I emphasized "REAL".

Something does not add up. If they trully missed the production date by only three days, i can understand the realocation and the delay for the consumer copy.

In other hand, IF that is true, then review copies should be ready, and they should have the final code with them.

It wouldn´t hurt for them to say "the game is finished, and we are waiting a time slot to press the discs, we will hand out the review copies on ____".

A three day delay wouldn´t change anything regarding review discs. I´m starting to think the real problem was performance issues and they are still working on it, thus, they don´t have the final code yet. (hence the no review copies).

That passed through my mind before. I try not to think about it.

That is why i think it's not "production issue" but "we have no our game for black friday" since LBP2 have moved till next year.

It's not that they just remembered in their 6 year development that they need 3 more days.. Even if it's only 3 day delay they should make alooooot of GT5 coppies...

If piracy was at all a concern for them then there's no way that they'd send out review copies when they initially planned to. The reason for that is simply because they'd be too scared that someone would rip it and put it online. And so then GT5 would be up for people to download a month or so before anyone could even purchase it.

No REAL news from Paris? What a disappointment...

But hardly surprising now is it?

I bet 'review copies' are indeed ready but they simply wait to distribute them or put an embargo on publishing reviews simply due to the fact the game will release later, nothing illogical about that I reckon.
If they already allowed reviews to be published without any new date set the hype or momentum would pass and create even more frustration for the fans reading about something with no clue when it arrives.

I just totally looked at your profile expecting to see a photo of a female :grumpy:

It really does seem that PD are trying to cover something up, or hide as much as possible until the very last moment (i.e. release). Perhaps they're trying to deny the competition as little catch-up time as possible. That's not to say that, amongst certain industry personnel, far more is known about the game then we do, and that this could have been "leaked" to other developers, somehow...

On the other hand, the fact that they're keeping schtum might mean that people are more intrigued. Alternatively, the average gamer is probably sufficiently impressed by the demos at the moment, and they're the ones who need to be convinced to buy the game.

I shall cease with the animations... hey, wait a minute! Are there even women on the forums? Even more, are there any in GTP?

It's just I thought your username was short for Stephanie so I clicked your profile and saw

Intrigued is a nice word for extremely impatient at this point ;). although I doubt whether showing all features now in a review would seriously play in the hands of the competiton as in catching up soon ( assuming it would take some time too for them to 'react' and implement certain features ) but then again every time advantage is relevant in this, or every other, large industry.
Embargo's don't cover leaking intentionally so therefore they may indeed wait as long as they can before handing out review copies.
And even assuming they plan to release the actual game anytime soon and not a few months ahead.........

Sending out review copies before announcing a release date can work both ways. If the review copies use the old firmware, it could be leaked onto the web early and GT5 would instantly lose tons and tons of sales. Sending it too late, and there might not be enough momentum generated for release day.

However, if Sony's smart about hyping up the public again, the best way to hype everyone up is to announce the new release date the same day the embargo on GT5 reviews lifts. That way, we would get a double helping of news and many of us would be reassured that the release date is firm and the game is really coming out after so many years.

A little off topic, but my girl friend yuka, plays GT5, shes also got a G25, and shes very dedicated to gt, im still trying to get her to join...

Back to topic, has there been any trace of the nurburgring seen at night as of yet? or is just Le mans.

Who says there will be review copies send before the game actualy is released. It won't be the first game where gamejouralist get a copy on or afer release because of piracy and things like that.

It is assumed that their are review copy's floating around, my belief to, but in fact is their any evidence to co-oberate this or any evidence that a full build of this game exist at all.

I think the games broke and their still fixing it.
Ive said it before and I'll take the flak again.

No fully working full featured version of the game exists outside of PDs domain.

Nothing wrong with this of course, considering the scale of Kaz's dreams.
It is getting a bit of a running joke now though, sorry to say.

Why does Kaz have to be such a perfectionist? "Does it need to be 60fps at all times?" He probably could have released a GT5 that would perform above average with a few kinks, and all Sony would have to do is hire someone like RJ De Vera to super-hype it up in a 3 min video. But then that's not the Yamauchi way, now is it?

Isn't there supposed to be a review by a autblog or something today?

Like Kaz said, at times it won't be running at 60 fps, when it is raining an there is a full grid starting off is where he said it will go lower then the target 60 fps.

A sobering thought perhaps as there indeed is no evidence of a full build but they specifically mentioned PD missed the 'production window' or deadline by 3 days.
Why mention 3 days specifically which, to me at least, suggests they finished the game 3 days too late.
Otherwise they could've mentioned they just missed the deadline, if they're still working on it that would mean they missed that deadline by more than 3 days doesn't it?
If there indeed is a far more serious issue why say it's a short delay just due to missing the original deadline by a few days?
Would be a strange tactic regarding damage control but then again I'm no expert.

I don't understand how missing the target date by 3 days turns into a 2 month (or maybe longer) delay. Something is fishy about all of this.

Kaz twitted 3 days I believe.
He is the person who said release anytime, 90% etc.
3 Days from Kaz could mean anything.

Sony are taking a lot of the brunt about delays. 3d TVs, move etc.

If Kaz goes back to Sony and says I need more time. Maybe this time they said you deal with it and give out the reasons. He is quite high up in Sony I think anyway.

All hypothetical by me of course.

Your argument would seem plausible. Were it not for the fact they have misled everyone in the past with as much specificity in their "plausible" lies. As always, I beg and hope PD will make me eat my words, however if it was as they claim, we should have a definitive date by the end of this month.

Don't forget, GT5 was supposed to release in Japan back in March. After they delayed it, Kaz announced the game was 90% finished. I mean, come on.

aside from the paris games show, wasnt there meant to be a big blow out today in a french magazine?
i guess i shall have to dredge through the thread again!
