it looks like it was cut and paste to me..

You can't just cut and paste a face that's supposed to "move" in the game - it has to be modelled because the movement in the face (especially while talking - and it looks like we'll see him talking more than once) needs to be right to make it look realistic or "human".

For a racing game this looks pretty good IMO 👍

There are just hair physics missing like those in FF13
And we'll see him most of the time with a helmet anyway.

Sorry to burst your bubble guys but the Vettle standing next tot the car is a cardboard cut out.

Yep... but I hope we'll have a best simulation experience with gt5, if you remenber in GT4 the BMW 120d when tuned up made backfires, in real world tuned diesel engine make a black cloud becouse diesel fuel don't burn like gasoline... I hope they've fix it.
Depending on the car they may not even show much black smoke. Cars using the urea filters or even VW/Audi's system should be eliminating all but the worst of the black smoke.

If they make the backfire mistake again (taking your word for it as I can't remember the last time I drove the 120d) I at least hope they get it right on the Peugeot 908 HDI FAP and the Audi R10 TDI (And hopefully an R15), and other race cars. Those have such drastic differences in everything from fuel economy to sound that they can't just tack on data stats for the physics engine and be done with it. If they do it will be painfully obvious to even the more casual player who has seen the cars in real life.

If Standard cars look better than the cars in Prologue , how ****ing good do premium cars look!!!!
This time tommorow i would have been saying 1 week to go :(
Lets hope that date from eurogamer's source ( 3rd december ) is true.

Considering all cars in Prologue are premium in GT5, I think they made a big mistake by saying standard cars in GT5 look better than GT5P cars.

Premium cars will look A LOT better than Prologue cars, this was said almost 1 year ago. Premium cars in GT5 will have about 400.000-500.000 polygons, Prologue cars have about 100.000-250.000 if I'm not mistaken.

👍 Exactly.

All I'm saying is don't get your hopes up. I will bet £50 right now that the standard cars in GT5 dont look better than any car in GT5P. You only have to take the fact that Prologue had interiors to immediately bump that theory.

I don't. PD's already said the Premium cars are WAY more detailed than the GT5P cars. So, it's not hard to think that the Standard cars were done to a similar standard. I mean, the main reason the Premium cars took so long to model was because of their interiors. Without having to do that for the standard cars, they could probably get them to close to Premium detail on the outside and still have time to do the 800+ standards.

If the standard cars look like the GT PSP intro cars I will be very pleased!

Still, those cars from the Standard cars videos don't look as beautiful as the Prologue ones. It's great that they're in but I think that what's said in the article is exagerated.

And Standards, in GT4, were 4,000.

Unless they've gone back and redone all 800+ Standards to higher-than-Prologue quality, that line just can't be true.

Not to mention it's funny that there's been plenty of people around here talking about how reasonably, PD could've never done 1000 cars all to the level of the current Premiums (which is true)... but now will openly believe that they had time to recreate 800+ from scratch to Prologue levels? Prologue cars probably didn't take 6 months to be created, but they surely took 2 or more. Talk about wishful thinking.

I'll take the line about Standards as nothing more than marketing fluff to soften the blow of their quality until proven otherwise :-/.

Hmm, I'm not too concerned about the standard cars. They will look better than the cars in GT4, right?
And I think the cars in GT4 look still great. So I'm cool with it.

Engine failures must be why Virtual Vettel is looking so moody.

Can't believe PD's quotes of Premium cars being better than Prologue are being used to support the idea that Standard cars will be different to what PD showed in a trailer a few months back...

Come on Slippy, all aboard the GT hype train...... Wooooo Hoooooo.

Doh, silly me...

OMG, of course they could do it! Praise be to PD!

...better? ;)

Heh, in all seriousness though, I just want a release date before I allow myself to get excited for this game again. They fooled me with Nov2, and the rest of what's mentioned in the article sounds awesome... so they've got a few dozen more hours to make good on their promise of an announcement by month's end to get me firmly back on the train.

I haven't think at it... you'rer in right, but a tuned up diesel (a road version I mean) shouldn't have (with a direct exhast pipe) dpf becouse it cut much power, worst than a catalyzer.

All I can remember was chris and the rest of the Sony team saying this is the final release date no more delays. Cant wait to hear a new release date 👍

@wajdi1977

Sorry mate,
your country has produced some of the most beautiful looking and sounding cars (and bikes) this world has seen. But Italian vehicles aren't exactly famous for their reliability. No offense meant :)

👍

Considering PD was three days late getting the final build to the printers, obviously that says the game is done. Just need to slap it on a disk (or millions) and ship it out.
