As was mentioned elsewhere, there is that supposed Sony presentation at 4pm in Paris on Sunday - conveniently right at the end of the month. What's the betting that's when the release is announced?
I mean it's just like them to leave it 'til the last minute, eh :P

If only they did provide something at the last minute, I'm betting we're still none the wiser come Sunday unfortunately.
If we do get a new release date by then ( or even earlier ) I promise I will type my posts the next day wearing a miniskirt.

Pics or it didn't happen.

For a racing game this looks pretty good IMO 👍

There are just hair physics missing like those in FF13
And we'll see him most of the time with a helmet anyway.

Looks good to me. 👍

I would get on the hype train, but it doesn't come to Alaska. Unless some company builds railroad tracks to Alaska i can't participate!:banghead::sly:

Haha! I did a quick scan, but I can't find the "intended" rearrangement. So, not so well done, I guess. :P

Sometimes you have to work for offending material. I know, it is the opposite of the net as a whole.

And if you rearrange that whole sentence...

Not to mention it's funny that there's been plenty of people around here talking about how reasonably, PD could've never done 1000 cars all to the level of the current Premiums (which is true)... but now will openly believe that they had time to recreate 800+ from scratch to Prologue levels? Prologue cars probably didn't take 6 months to be created, but they surely took 2 or more. Talk about wishful thinking.

I'll take the line about Standards as nothing more than marketing fluff to soften the blow of their quality until proven otherwise :-/.
While I am holding all judgment until the game is being displayed on my TV, it may be possible your skepticism is forgetting that not only would an update for standards be less work on the appearance than premiums, but removes all the work necessary for anything on the interior. Also factor in that supposedly there won't be any kind of individual panel deformation (if I understand correctly) and the effort for a Standard appears to possibly be a fraction of that for Premiums.

Sorry to steer away from the conversation with Vettel's face (Anakin, absolutely)

Just to say I went to the Paris Gamesweek today, and there was nothing new asides the Seb Loeb challenge, it was the E3 build with other demos including the rally one with only the C4 and the GTR on it.

Unless something's happening on Sunday don't get your hopes up

here's the vid of what I got time to record - only on iTouch video hence mediocre quality - also the E3 Nurb bug was clearly shown there -.-' where I had to guess the track... and got lucky

I did get a chance on the steering wheel/pod setup and took all aids off and it felt good, you could swing the car (Motul Autech GTR) around with ease when you stopped spinning, with TC off and ASM off obviously, me being a little throttle-happy sent me sideways more often than not.

However the best thing about it was that it felt natural, and prologue felt completely different, which is the most encouraging thing I have experienced so far.

The Audi TT with the GT5 logo you saw in the pictures? That had a wheel inside so you could race in it, and the entire car moved slightly when you did anything in the game according to what was happening ingame (so lowered the front when braking for example), didn't get a try too long a queue, there was also a Citroen C4 WRC for the same reason as far as I could tell, almost certainly for the Seb Loeb Challenge

Also noises were improved as a side note

P.S. There was nothing new so not worth Creating a new thread for that matter

I'm not questioning that updating Standards will take a fraction of the time, per car, as building a Premium. The lack of cockpits does help that. But two main issues I see with it:

1. Prologue cars are hugely more detailed than what we've so far seen of Standards. The idea that they've managed to get them all to surpass that point in a few months (from the E3 video to release) is incredibly optimistic. And before I hear the "the E3 video was an old build"... sure, it could be, but you'd think that at that point, some of these apparent Prologue-bettering Standards surely would've been ready, and they would've used them in the video instead, no?

2. What we have seen of Standards can arguably be described as "adequate". But the entire modeling method used for them is dead, so I don't see why PD would invest months into them instead of working to get rid of this two-tier system...

Like you said, I'll with-hold final judgment for when the game's firmly in my system, but I can't help but question the unlikelihood of the statement in the article. It doesn't add up logically.

Yeah, that thing is fun. Got a chance to test it myself, 2 years ago at the Games Convention.

A question for you all playing these demos. On the Road cars, is there way you can pick RACING tires instead of SPORT? If so I'd like feedback on that vs. SPORT tires, see if the upgraded rubber is the same as in previous GT's. You could say that Racing tires on your car would improve handling/cornering drastically, especially with those super softs.

Yes it does make a difference

I tried the Sport 3 tyres on the GT by Citroen as you saw and boy was it slippy, the back end was very squirmy, and it caught me out a few times.

I tried Racing 3 Tyres on the Motul Autech later in the day, and I can safely say I felt a lot more comfortable in the car, I didn't spin but I certainly slid, in any case nowhere near as drastically as in the Citroen, maybe due to downforce, but even so the GTR would have been more tail happy due to the better engine in the first place.

And yes you could change them

This is a good point, and the only thing that could explain it is that PD has yet to show us a video with everything in its final state. If so, I'm not sure some of this is an old build issue as much as a not revealing all their secrets issue.

Maybe I am reading this wrong, but this seems to have little to do with how you expect standard cars to look and more to do with you taking an opportunity to complain that standards exist at all.

Like you said, I'll with-hold final judgment for when the game's firmly in my system, but I can't help but question the unlikelihood of the statement in the article. It doesn't add up logically.
Depending on the author of the article very little of it should be taken as clear cut fact. Often I have seen articles refer to something that aren't accurate to the reality. My point was to merely show you how your 2 month guesstimate could be inaccurate and how if the article is accurate it is possible.

Basically, don't be so quick to write it off because you expect less without having seen it. Will you write off any review/preview article as wishful thinking that describes standard cars as anything but a problem?
