One word that people here lack.

PATIENCE.

Spend time doing something other than patrolling GTPlanet Sony and Gaming sites looking for the latest rumor on GT5. It's useless to concern yourself with rumors. All you gotta do is invest some of your time in something else. That new Star Wars game looks interesting enough to waste some time till GT5 is around.

I have never laughed as hard as when I read your post :D People here lack PATIENCE?? Hahahaha..we have waited nearly 6 years PAL!!

what could any of you do to Sony or PD to make them feel bad that you had to wait so long?

I wouldn't want to make them feel bad, after this long journey, what do we have? possibly the most realistic driving sim out there. You complain about the wait, but think as every year has passed, new things have been added, d'you think if we got the game in '08 that we'd have damage, weather, 200 prems, possibly over 70 tracks? i don't think so.

Sure the delays have been stressful, but i think it's all worth it :)

GT5 copy could look like this.

That looks pretty official, tho if they say they never even released any test discs to anyone, part of me thinks he Just copied a bunch of the already shown DLC CE cars and put them on photo paper. While it does look nice. I dunno, either someone is trying really hard to fool someone, or that's official. I'm going to lean towards that someone made that themselves.

So being put in Jail for arson all because of a game is worth it? I hope this is just a joke.
It is :dunce:

It is :dunce:
Why do you take everything so serious?

Honestly, I don't know who's kidding and whos serious anymore unless theirs a smilie out after the sentence. I just find this rage just really unnecessary and then there's people who apparently think I'm either in denial or I have problems just because I'm not even mad like they are. In short, I'm confused.

In my opinion there are two scenarios possible:

a) Sony wants either to wait to be 100% certain that all the necessary copies of GT5 will be manufactured in time for the release date before disclosing it, in order to avoid other further embarassing situations;

Actually, i think this is the most probable reason. Good point!

This seems like the most probable reason. If that is indeed the case, then it would appear they definately are intent on getting all right for sure.

I've been thinking this too. It would be really bad for them to miss another date, so I think they're make damn sure this time.

They might even wait until the discs have all been made, everything is ready to be shipped, and then make a date.

Well, if thats the case, then we could see a release date in early Nov, and still have the game by late nov or early dec. You really on need 3 weeks in between a new release date and launch.

I would settle for that, and i'm still sticking by my prediction of GT5 being released in the first week of December.

In my opinion there are two scenarios possible:

b) There have been development problems at Polyphony Digital and Sony are trying to postpone release date announcements to make people to at least buy the hardware (PS3, wheel, TV) for the holiday season on the trust that the game will be soon released. Soon after that or towards the end of the year new announcements will be made.

To me, development problems seems most likely. Production/manufacturing issues seems like something Sony could anticipate well in advance, right? I think GT5 was postponed on something like Oct. 13-15? Even by that date, I would think they would've stamped a massive amount (millions?) of discs and had them ready to go if they were going to make it to stores worldwide a few days before Nov. 2. If not enough discs had been made, I'd think Sony could easily say, "we want to make sure we've made enough discs for the release date." But none of us works for Sony or PD. The longer you hear nothing from Sony/PD, the more likely it's something pretty serious.

No, I think SHIRAKAWA Akira was talking about PD/Sony, and their reluctance in announcing a new release date because they were waiting before until they had enough copies of the game to not run out, after the debacle of the original production issues. Once they believe they have enough stock, they will announce a date, and then start shipping out. The date can be shorter than before, as they only have to ship it out (about 2-3 weeks), rather than pressing it.

I don't mean to be a pain, but isn't this thread supposed to be about the latest news and general discussion regarding GT5?

I check this site and thread every day and it is rather pants having to sift through countless posts of people telling other people to chill out, argue semantics or speculate on already speculated speculations.

Also, the PD/Sony bashing is just childish. PD/Sony want their product in the hands of eager customers as much as we do and I have no doubt they will achieve this as soon as it is feasible. They can't print the game on old bootlegged My Chemical Romance CDs. If you want miracles, consult the so-called 'Good Book'.

Personally, I have Fallout: New Vegas to keep me going and I am enjoying it quite a bunch.

And finally, is anybody from GTP attending SEMA? I do know that there are requirements on members of the public wishing to attend. It would be great to have an inside person in attendance.

From the Toaster,
Mr. Toast.

He would lose money from the people buying memberships and money from the companies that spend money to run adds on his site.

Yeah, not to mention he wouldn't just "shut it down" for that reason, he'll keep it up even if there's barely anything to give us news for. Dedication is awesome =)

I totally agree with Sony possibly delaying to try and create sales of consoles / wheels / lower cost of 3d tv's etc:, and to make sure that enough games are made before announcing anything.
But I also think they may be holding back as long as possible basically for the yen to gain strength against the dollar and sterling, just a thought.
Will there be a sema / uk motorshow announcement ? I very much doubt it.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but the folks at InsideSimRacing apparently have an interview set up with Kazunori at SEMA. They said they were promised an interview but they don't know what type of interview it will be.
