Does anyone remember that they said that games would be released for review??

Seriously? An event reminder? It's a game. You'll get it when you get it. You can't rush PD and Sony to get the game out, there's a good reason for the delay, in my opinion it's not even a delay cus the game never even came out, there's still lots of details left untouched as well. There's so much more to this game than we know so far... I can't believe people here want to antagonize Sony/PD for the game. Give him more reason to think we don't appreciate his work, that's great!

What do you need to show this whole forum that you have a picture of an event reminder for a not released game? And yeah, you can't delay a game that's been released, but GT5 to me isn't delayed, I didn't expect it here on the 2nd of November, so to me it's just another such an such amount of days till it's here. Not counting down though as it seems some are, for what reason I'm not sure especially since the joke about November 2nd is getting old.

Anyway....has the GT5 launch party been confirmed for any particular date? Because the date of that event will be a pretty big clue to when the game will actually be released.

I have been invited to a GT5 release event and after the game was delayed i have been waiting for the new date of the event.

I just got an email asking if i will be availible on December 1st.

They have been waiting for cofirmation of the release date so maybe this is when they will receive the first copies.

Edit: Just been told that no release date has yet been announced. But they are having the event anyway! FAIL

Man, someone is cross?! I actually felt the need to explain my actions, but then I read that! I guess your definition of "delay" is different from the world's, and so I say to myself, "why bother?"

So, we obviously didn't get an announcement yet. What are your thoughts? I'm thinking we might get it on the 2nd, but we will probably have to wait until SEMA ends (yes, I know that those two are actually inclusive, but I'm figuring Friday rather than Tuesday).

Being that Amazon doesn't ship on Sundays, naturally it has not shipped.

However, I just checked order status: my my shipping rate is 1 day and estimated arrival is November 2nd. It would be very cool to get an email in the morning stating it has shipped .

You're grasping at straws using subjective reasoning to argue against a delay. This issue has nothing to do with opinion. A release date was given by Sony/PD. There was no release, but rather the following statement was made:

"We can confirm that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available this November 2nd, but the game’s release will be coming this holiday season.

We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay, however, creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches.

We’ll have more information for you in the near future."

Thats nothing son, I didnt make myself a reminder because its been in my head for years now.

But I did send some reminders to friends family and gf\mistresses that starting Nov2nd 2010 ill basically be a GT hermit, only to surface during Patch or Firmware updates and to make sure the planet hasnt turned into a post-apocalyptic Mad Max existence.

Yeah, playing the demo made me realize that they still have quite a bit that they need to do in regards to the collision physics (which may or may not have been looked into since the demo was made).

Does anyone think if the game is coming out Nov 30th in the US, they would start an ad campaign on like Nov 15th. Usually big movies advertise a minimum 3 months early. Lets all come to grips that this game IS NOT coming out this year, and it really sucks remembering we saw this big video screen in Las Vegas saying "November 2nd, 2010". And I remember this site saying that the release date would be known by the end of the month. Seeing as that has come and gone I'm going to TRY and enjoy F1 2010 for the next 6 months. Yea I know this ain't a movie, and trailers are teased a year and a half early in the theaters sometimes. But I saw TV commercials for that mario cart PS3 game at least 6 weeks before it came out. I think this game is bigger than "mario cart PS3".

lol.. grasping at straws? I don't concern myself with fussing over a release date that was never to be. If you know GT, you know nothing is final until the damn thing is in stores. Only people like you 'grasp at straws' to deal with your fascination over trivial things like a delay! Seriously, what's the worse that it can be? You'll get it this year. Like I said before, people who are fussing over it not being out lack patience. You've waited this long, you can wait a bit longer. 5 years to a few more weeks is nothing. I love GT as much as the next guy, but I don't cry a river because it's been 'delayed'. I don't do the pre-order thing, I'll get it when it's in the stores, that way I'm not disappointed like the lot of you when we don't get it the day they initially gave.
