500,000 at launch for france alone is a ton. Anyone else who thinks otherwise please compare to other games shipped at launch and you will see how big that number is.

To put into perpective, I think GT5 will sell 5 million copies in the first 2 months. France is getting 10% of the total sales, and its not even the biggest market. The US will sell about 2 million copies in the first month, Japan about another 1.2-1.5 million.

yeah, but Nov 30th in the US is looking rather likely. An official date would certainly be nice though.

Yea I am actually shocked at the number going to France at launch, That is massive. But it makes sense. It is the holiday season and there is plenty of demand. If France is getting 500,000 copies I can see PD shipping 5 Mil first week. That number is insanely high I could only think of one game on the PS3 that did that.... Modern Warfare 2.

It has been looking like a Nov 30th date for the last week or so with more and more clues pointing to this date each day. I am still hoping that they surprise us and get it here sooner.

I think it would be great if the world got the game on the same hour on the same day. Sure, some folks might be trudging to their gamestop at 4 in the morning, but at least the option would be there
Ideally, they should set that hour at 5:20pm Eastern Standard Time (New York time). heheheh. (that's the soonest I could get to gamestop after work).

I'll have no time with it in my one break during the semester.Are you talking about selling or shipping? Shipping 5 million for the first months sounds about right, but it'll take it forever to sell a million in Japan, if it ever happens, and the series appears to be in decline in America.
The vast majority will be sold in Europe.
