One thing I havn't seen is the addition of AI racers on the course marker. Does anyone have any footage of this. Ive been looking for a while and can't seem to find evidence.

If AI racers are on course maker, I believe that it then will be even better! Maybe not that big of a deal but I would like to know.

Yes there are plenty of videos showing races with AI cars on course marker tracks:tup:

I've bought a driving force GT to go with GT5, I tested it on GT4 last night. OMG How good is that game with a wheel? And how freaking excited am I now! Hope the posty comes early!

I'm still sketchy on buying a G27. I really want one, no doubt, but with $200 being the best price I can find, I just don't know if I can justify spending that much to use a peripheral for a videogame... literally just one videogame. Any opinions on why it would be worth that kind of money?

I have never used a G27 so i can't compare. But the driving force GT seems excellent and its much cheaper. At the end of the day the thing that swung me was the official support for the DFGT. All the buttons will work properly.

I was orginally going to buy the DFGT. (cost reasons) Its my first wheel expireince and knew that the dfgt would more than impress me.👍

Ended up getting more hours at work so I looked at other options. I actually got the pwts with clupsport pedals last week. :) So I would say Im a little spoiled that i got this wheel as my first one.

Anyways I would strongly put a 👍 on the DFGT. I think that for the money (price point) it cant really be beat. I would say its a good starting point for someone who is trying a wheel for the first time. 💡

this is a demonstration of the hard work polyphony did with the AI engine in GT5 (it is difficult to program AI in video games for a lot of different reasons but thats not the subject here) :

WOW.

Where is that from? Is that new.

I knew there might be some faults with the AI (which game doesnt have faults with AI?) but that clip pretty much sold me. AI is on par for what I think it should be. Looks awesome

I may get the DFGT, then. I'll look into it.

And is that .Gif from the "GT5 AI goes bananas" youtube vid? If so, yeah, I was impressed. First it's nice to know the AI can screw up and spin out, but then the way the other car brakes and swerves to miss the spinning car is glorious.

My copy of Gran Turismo 5 Signature Edition was shipped today from GAME!

Being shipped on a Monday morning and the game isn't out until Wednesday? Maybe get it on Tuesday??

I got my DFGT last week, and can't wait to test it on GT5. I tested it with NFS: Shift and wasn't overly impressed though :(

Hopefully mine will arrive tomorrow, yay!

Spending that kind of money on a peripheral for a videogame cannot be justified with a reason. You gotta go with your heart :)

For me, G27 with its clutch and shifter and overall quality and feeling just makes the driving so much more what it's supposed to be.

I got my DFGT just before the first delay and I haven't used it yet. Just don't want to spoil the feel of racing with my first wheel and my first full GT game!!! Two more days people!!!! :ill:

Everyone thinking of getting the g27, I paid 230 euros on a student's budget to get the g25 when it first came out (and I bought it only for one game, LFS) and I haven't looked back once (well... I did when it broke but I got a new one from logitech and they've fixed the problems the early g25s used to have by now). Though I had driven lots of cars back then it was still a bit weird to get used to the shifter and pressing the clutch but after mastering it nothing even comes close to the excitement of having to manage your footwork and shifter in the middle of a race. Sure missing a gear is irritating sometimes (has cost me races) but being able to learn and implement stuff like heel and toe, managing your footwork (sometimes left foot breaking, sometimes left foot on clutch and right foot breaking and heel and toe) really makes the racing experience that much more realistic feeling. If you buy it I guarantee you it'll be worth it.

... Hmm don't know why I went on such a tantrum. Anyway it's a matter of opinion but I hope my experiences will help anyone who's thinking of buying g25/g27.

The manager at my local EB Games just let me see my Signature Edition box, but he was too scared of losing his job or a $10,000 fine if he let me take it.

He says the earliest I can pick it up is 8:30am Thursday as they are not doing a midnight launch.

The guy is a good sport, and offered to let me play GT5 on their demo console in store, even though it was pretty much 6pm and he was waiting to close up shop... so if you are in the Carindale area they have GT5 running in store.

This waiting is killing me, I think today was the slowest day at work I can remember...

Dude you should start now, when I first got my DFGT, the gears were extremely stiff and noisy. I've found after about 2 weeks of use that the gears are much softer now (feels more like a real steering wheel does), and also the noise is much more muffled :)

I have only seen races with max 12 cars on the track for gt5. Does anybody know if there will be races with more than 12 drivers like the 16 in prologue?

GTP_Chris had a video with 16 cars in it I think, it was a license test around Indy.
