That's a great plan, actually. I'm gonna do that too. I wanted to start off in karts anyway, since it makes sense that you would start your career in karts.

Also keeps me from having to drive some slow car.

Are there different levels of karts? Do you only have one non-shifter kart? Or are there like, 125cc, then 250cc shifter, and then a Super Kart level?
 
i called 4 different places gamestop twice

Gamestop1 said i can pick it up on the 26th??????

Gamestop2 on the 24th

target said they will not have it till next month

beastbuy said December but she ask somebody else and they said its in the back. then she said the 24th

And the closest one is gs1 and target so it looks like i got to wait

Unfortunatly only one kart, and you can unfortunatly not tune it. It's only got one gear, so it says "D" all the time. You have three different race levels though, I've played the first two. Two races each. Difference between them are the length of the races and the skill of the opposition. Havent tried the 3rd level as I havent had time to play more than a few hours and hav only reached level 8.
 
I feel weird because my Gamestop employees are (seemingly) smart... They said that its coming out the 24th (the day it was announced >.>). They knew good info on the game, I believe some are fans.

Do you have JB HiFi over there? if so they're doing 23rd midnight release in most stores.
 
Yes!! MightyApe games in New Zealand are sending the game out on Wednesday (24th), So there's a chance that some of us will receive it a day early, (as long as you live in the North Island, as all their games are shipped from Auckland).

I live in the Waikato and in 2008 they sent GTA IV out a day before release, and i got it on that day. :)
 
GranTurismo 5 is without doubt the best game that we will get this decade...

But chill the fk down people...you're exagerating with the midnight releases and all this hype...this is exacly what they want you to do....most of you/us are mature people so act mature...don't act like 10 year olds hyping over some candy..."candy" will still be there after the "tornado"...xD and will probably cost less aswell. And don't forget that "fresh" games alwais need shizton of patches to run well in both online and offline...not to talk about glitches and bugs.....

So take a smart aproach and buy the game later on......like January or February...the hype will chill and you will just hop in a store and get it for 50€ instead of 60/70 (idk what the real price is)

Ok i hope i diden't offend anyone, and if i did i'm soy but this is my point of vew of the situation.

Byyeeee see you on SSR11..... -_- NAWT! (hope it will eventualy be a DLC)
 
I just went to a gamestop here in Canada and they said i will get it on the 24th. A futureshop said 23rd. I already have my preorder with GS so i'll go have to wait an extra day. Also, Futureshop doesnt have the CE that I pre ordered
 
I was at EB Games today, (Gamestop?) and they don't have any GT5 in stock yet, but the guy said they're expecting a shipment tomorrow sometime. For extra $50 he said he can't get a copy our earlier. :lol: I can wait, but I was bored and in a mood to joke around. Since that didn't work out, tomorrow I'm going there and flirting with the girl, and see how far that gets me. I'm hoping for at least in her pants, GT5 would be bonus! :lol:
 
It's hard not to get a little over hyped after 5 years! :lol: I have mine pre-ordered from Gamestop through the website so if they send it the 24th (fingers crossed) I'll be real happy. If not.. ugh, I'll just lurk here and be super jealous til I do get it. :P There is no way I'm going near a store until next week.. :indiff: I always avoid this 'black friday' madness.

Both the guys I usually talk to were excited about it, as well. Sucks they've got to work the day it comes out. But the mall is closed for Thanksgiving. :P

the game is already cheap and wont lower in price. if you can wait then ur not a true gt fan. enough said

By that time it WILL NOT lower in price any..Unless you can get it used.

And why wait, or worry about $60? if you are worried about the price trade game you don't play anymore twoards it? It's not like you'll be playing it anymore once you get GT5.
 
Looking at all the recent videos, I'm still curious if the Manufacture Events still exist & if the penalty system will be retained (might be only in the Professional Events).

Don't know about the manufacture events, but there are penalties, at least in special events, you get disqualified for ramming others and shortcutting.

I thought the "pro" review on this site by anes said that the manufacture events were no-where to be seen?. ...It would be nice to have penaltys online so the serious racers can get around without being smacked around by fools and on that note hopefully ya can't drive around the wrong way

I called my local gamestop today and asked when I could pick up my game and the guy told me.

"The game comes out on the 24th you can pick it up on the 23rd"
So I said " So you are open for a midnight launch?
He said "No you have to get it on Wednesday"
So I said "I can get it on the 23rd"?
And he said "yes"

I was puzzled the whole conversation, so on Tuesday mornning I'm going to go in and say that I was told I could get it today, hopefully they will just give it to me. :)
