I was disappointed to learn that Juan Pablo Montoya's NASCAR is in GT5 and it's Premium. (Even though all NASCARs are premium). The reason is, I've met him. We are both from the same country. And he's not exactly the best or nicest person or driver.

Why did PD include his car, when there are so many more NASCAR drivers that are... better?

Shouldn't really be a big deal since its just his car not him. For instance, I don't like Kyle Busch or Denny Hamlin but it doesn't bother me that their cars are in the game. Hell if anything, it just allows me to show how much better I am then they are

So the game is out in 2 days, I find the lack of advertising unusual for a game this big. No ads anywhere that ive seen, no commercials, hell we cant even get some wallpapers from the PS Store.

Between the amount of time it took to get done, the delays, no advertising, not too many midnight launches on top of it, this release seems very uneventful compared to something you might see with madden, halo, final fantasy.

This may actually be the quietest launch ive ever seen for a big AAA title.

People so worried about damage and im still looking for information on tire pressure and wheel size/width. Its like its a conspiracy.

That's what she said! Wait, no, that doesn't work.

I still want to know the rates at which the fueling rigs will refill the various types of vehicles!?!

Like I said I'm not going to defend all day.
If you wanna play a game where you spend your time crashing into walls
all day I suggest you play GRID. That is the only worth while full price game I
can recommend.

You could also break out the PS1 & play Destruction Derby. Lots of damage in that game, I could mail you a copy.:dopey:

Could someone please explain to me the need for altering the tyre pressures?

I've tracked my car and I understand that grip is very different depending upon what pressure you have in the tyres, but there is an optimal value.

PD obviously just ensure that your tyre is always at the optimal pressure for todays conditions.

I don't find it fun messing around with tyre pressures it's just a pain, it's like making sure that there is water in the wiper bottles, if I didn't have to do it I wouldn't want to do it.

If there is more than one optimal pressure then OK, I'm wrong.

Are you trying to balance grip levels front to rear or left to right or something like that?

I feel blessed right now- I get double the goods. Not only do I get GT5 this week finally, but just picked up a 535i Twin Turbo too. I get video and reality driving rushes this week yessir!

Have nice trips my friend and drive safely on real roads! 👍

Anybody saw one of the videos of Chris when the C63 CLS burn a tire?...talking about damage is good to see that on his words said "i think that after level 10 the car starts to get damage"...and i guess and for sure is how it works that more level you earn more damage you got.
I really don´t care how bad or good looks (to me good) only the way that can affect the cars performance.

I know a lot of you saw it but here it goes again:

the standard cars in motion look very brilliant, now I can confirm that!👍
the engine sounds improvements are very noticeable:tup:
the slipstream,finally,very realistic:tup:
the physic,in my opinion, are very similar to iRacing:tup:
the feedback from the wheel(G27)is strong and gives a good sensations:tup:
Thanks PD,VERY GOOD JOB:tup:👍👍

👍
This what i wanted to hear

Come to think of it, I never see ads for Ferrari either. I guess there is no point when "You're the best! Around! Nothin's gonna ever keep you down!"

Lower pressures (to a point) offer more grip but wear faster, higher pressures (to a point) wear slower but dont grip so well, to be a true sim game its pretty important to include this, especially for endurance races as it would help get a few more laps between tyre changes

Not sure about the actual game and how detailed it is in this area but tire pressure has lots of advantages and disadvantages in real life. Say you go for a low pressure, your tire should have more surface area in contact with the ground, therefore more grip and a lower chance of spinning out due to side walls flexing further. However low pressure tires reduce acceleration and wear out faster.

In the case of high pressure the car will accelerate faster, reach a higher top speed and reduce fuel consumption. However high pressure will reduce grip and could lead to the back of the car suddenly snapping around like a hardened suspension setup.

So if your doing laps in Daytona you would probably be better off with a higher pressure, lower pressure may be more beneficial round the streets of London or other tight twisty tracks.

so I have read countless threads and pages, and since I cant find an answer and cant start a new topic (not 100 posts yet). I thought I would ask in here...I preordered from gamestop in June or July.....they just charged my debit card and my order status says "backordered". I ordered the CE, does this mean its about to ship or is it truly backordered? thanks.

If they charge your credit card the game is ready to ship. At least thats how it works here in Spain.
If it is not they can´t charge your credit card for something that they could not give to you.

This just made my day. Its official, I shall be addicted for years because of this game. Lol This with the added fuel consumption related to throttle use is going to make the longer races so very good. Gone are the days of just slapping the softest grippiest tires on the car. So much depth. I cant wait. Bravo PD. Bravo

Call them and ask. (GameStop corporate)

Edit: just checked mine and it says "verifying".

Very good.
Could you please tell me if the G27 got a good configuration?
I assume paddles and rmp lights work. What about the 6 red wheels button. Are they configurable?
Thanks in advance.

Could someone please explain to me the need for altering the tyre pressures?[...]

- Tweaking tire pressure is usually the only way to fine tune the car driving response on a completely stock car.
- Tire pressure also varies with tire temperature. One of the reason why high end race tires have to be kept warm is because if they cool too much they might lose pressure and incur in all sort of problems deriving from that.
- Tweaking tire pressure is also important for keeping tire temperature even, and therefore, tire consumption.

A lot of bravos!!! 👍

Any word about wheel width and size and TIRE PRESSURE being modified? Thanks.

Dude, again!? I still haven't seen anything there, maybe Dr. Shello can give more of an idea. I am lvl 15 now... I think he is lvl 19!

I am a developer and I guess that is really pushing the limit messing with tire pressures. Is it really a let down if you just assume they are using optimal tire pressure? 💡
