Ok I bought an 360 and FM3 on saturday and I payed 200€... And the more I play the more I´m happy when GT5 is out...

FM3 is a very low quality game and the more I play the more it sucks... The physics are even more simulation in GTAIV...

Just played the VW event with all driving aids off and on middle mode... I´ve won every race with the Golf 1 GTI with 110 hp and the opponents were the R32 with 250hp, the VW scirocco and some other VW cars... I don´t even know the tracks and they were all new to me...

The worst thing I´ve ever seen is that you can use the rewind option in the time trial mode... WTH??? What´s the challenge when you can use that option in time trial??

Sure it has 1-2 good things in it, for example the rims you can choose or the bumpers and the other tuning parts... Oh and the car sounds are awesome! But I´m sure I´ll sell my 360...

So I´m back and I hope GT5 will come in 2010...

There won't? Damn! Thanks though!

Also, couldn't help notice you're from Bonn. Are you a NASCAR fan? If so, do you know where to watch the races (other than NASCAR's own site). I really hate that Eurosport doesn't broadcast them anymore :-(

Edit: Not for some years now.

You have NASCAR on Motors TV!!!!!:)

@Sele: Except for the stuff you wrote about rewind (since your lap wont count as "clean" when you do it) i absolutely loved this part:
But I´m sure I´ll sell my 360...
I so knew it, i only waited for you to post that sentence.

You wanted to fill the gap to GT5 with GT, which FM3 isnt (which isnt a bad thing, but there is a difference between the games).

Yeah the 360 in general gives me a no good feeling. The Xbox feels like an console for teenagers, the PS3 feels more (erwachsen?) adult?

I think FM3 is a good game but not for me... They have to give it more time, it feels uncomplete... I miss the details... I don´t get this "we love cars" feeling like in GT...

So, sorry for off topic :)

Waiting another "year" for GT5 :( but God of War III will keep me busy :)

Not any more, alas...

Even so, NASCAR was only broadcast in the UK, not the rest of Europe.

It has to do with the steep price the broadcasters have to pay, if I'm not mistaken. (and not enough European fans, I guess)

The same argument applies to Indy cars but they still sometimes cover those events live in Europe, i'm not particulary a fan of both but if i had to choose to either watch or play it in GT5 i would choose Nascar.

If you have a wheel and haven't played GT4 in a while, I strongly suggest playing that. I haven't played it in years so I picked up a used PS2 and a copy of GT4 and fell in love all over again using the DFGT wheel. 👍 Should keep me busy until GT5 comes out. :)

I've been meaning to do that, ps2 is under my ps3 in a cupboard so no excuse for me this weekend.

New Daytona - looks almost the same but has much more "lanterns"? which look kind of 3d... ;) but also - for me - a bit distracting ...
Davissi too bad you "had" to loose that way - I was never racing in real life but I seriously doubt ~380HP car could "take back" 0,4s on such a short fragment of the track - hope this will be possible to set up...
Cars have a tendency to jump after being hit from back...maybe that is the reason for delay - physics "errors" ?...

Sele1981 - you could simply buy Supercar Challenge (and perhaps Ferrari Challenge) - would be much cheaper - I am not saying better than F3 but cheaper and would also last for some time...

There's a new Daytona model??? Where did you see it?

Aye, the physics work differently with the DFGT wheel. I was able to do a proper controlled drift with the Holden Monaro - stock - with N2 tyres yesterday! Instead of fish tailing around using a controller. I think it's due to the input smoothing of the controller, which in turn causes over correction.

On Motorland with N2 tyres, it feels like your crawling around with the controller, but with a wheel it feels normal.

Thats from new HD video on front page. Enyone noticet or thats just my imagination. When he hit the wall at the end of straight in the beginn of second lap blurr coms on screen like in Need for speed SHIFT??

I think thats blurr effect from game. After he hit wall he turn right and when you look on trees and fence they are blurred for about 1 sec then they come sharp.

The new barriers in Daytona are much more realistic than those 8 foot tall arrow barriers. I also noticed PD hasn't implemented the double yellow lines that go around the main oval. They must have updated Daytona before the real Daytona had those painted.

I´ve played GT4 very often the last times... But I hate it in the career mode that you never had an balanced race...

1. You got the ultimate tuned car and kick them others in the a..

or

2. You can´t catch the #1 car if your car is not as tuned as hell...

But there is never an challenging race in the game... only the low class events, they are really good and I love them, there is an challenge because all cars have 50 hp :D

And I really LOVE the driving lessons and the driving missions in GT4! There you got to give your maximum to beat them and that´s what I love...

Just played FM3 a bit more, ok it´s not that bad, maybe I was a bit frustrated that I´ve payed 200€ for that but it will keep me busy a month... It´s frustrating to drive with an gamepad...

You know what! I completely missed GT4 last time it came around, so I recently bought a cheap console and gt4 game on eBay. Very cool. My g25 and obutto seat compliment the experiance too.

Yeah but if it wasn't for bad players we wouldn't be here discussing about FT86's jumps or Gallardo's scratches.

Sure, you got a point. But those scratches and that massive jump left me with more doubts that anything else. For such an impact with the Gallardo, I expected more extensive damage. But in all honesty, damage has been kept a secret (except for the good videos we saw at TGS 2009). We can fully critique damage once we've seen it complete, but as of today, we have a lot to question.

Whoever that was, he clearly lost because of the insane slipstream :ouch:

EDIT: lol, I see now it was davissi

To be fair, thats exactly the same way he got in the lead in the first place, from 3rd to 1st.

I don't recall seeing this posted, but there is this one report stating that it is not Sony's decision to delay the game, but Kaz is simply not satisfied and it is "painful" for Sony as it impacts them financially in a negative way.

Go down to middle of page to GT5 section:
http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2010/02/05/sonys-q3-09-conference-calls/

Anyhow, it's just a story. More speculation nothing more, but for those that are interested, go jump on the article.

Personally, if it's true that Kaz is not responding much to pressure from financial factors, and trying to perfect the game, then I'm happy.

The meat of the article you linked:

GT5 Delay Painful For Sony Too
We are all getting fed up waiting for the ever-slipping GT5 and Sony are feeling the financial pain of Kaz’s failure to reach a point where he is satisfied with the game. They were asked about how their Q4 software forecast met with internal targets they had previously set. The answer went like this

In fourth quarter we are seeing an underachievement of the target by ¥20b. One reason is the delay in the launch of Gran Turismo [5]. We were originally scheduled to launch Gran Turismo [5] this year but it looks more likely that it will be after 2010 so that’ll be a significant factor.

Wonder if Kaz was listening in to the call. Yes, they did say “after 2010″. Whether that was a slight mistranslation by the translator and Sony simply meant in 2010 or after the start of 2010 I have no idea. I listened to that part of the call several times to try and determine which was meant and it was not clear. If, and it is a big if, Sony really did mean “after 2010″ then given the context that would mean after their 2010 financial year which ends in March 2011. A delay that long does not bear thinking about for us race fans or Sony.

If this proves true, it is beyond ridiculous. I don't know, I just don't know...

Keep in mind that is "thesixhaxis" words, not Sony's or anything official, they made it up out of a translation at a Sony press conferece (which Sony never even mentioned Kaz or PD at all).

And yes there was a thread about it.

new daytona don't include only new look of chicane, grass is better, there are lots of shadows. laterns, stripes on road and many other things we can't see because quality of video.

+ for PD for improving tracks
