This car will be 100% in GT5!!!!! Maybe they delayed game because they don't have time to finish this car until March...💡

I've been thinking. So far there have been two GT games for each console. And looking back on all the games hasn't the first GT game on each console been somewhat better than the later? Or is it due to the fact that I've been younger when playing them?

For me GT1 was THE game and somehow it still is. Of course GT2 was really good with all the new features and new cars, but still somehow I prefer GT1. Maybe it's the difference in handling.

Same thing with GT3 and GT4. GT4 had more EVERYTHING, and still GT3 has my heart. For the last year or so whenever I fire up my PS2 I've been playing GT3 just to remember how cool it was in the first place.

Of course the games are a pretty personal thing. But it's been a decade of GT for me and many of you. A decade of my our lives, countless hours of GT. So you must have your favorites...

Which ones are they? Anyone with me?

Maybe it's got something to do with the shock of the new, i clearly remember my excitement when i first played GT1, but after i saw it again the other day i could not believe how pixelated ( low-res ) it looked, in my memory it was so much prettier, but then time has moved on thankfully and if i had to pick a favourite ( meaning full game ) until now for me it would be GT4, but mostly due to the enormous content which kept me busy for a long time.

I actually feel GT2 is better than GT1, and GT4 better than GT3... :dopey:

That's not to say I'll be disappointed with GT5, just that I will now expect the second iteration on the PS3 to be that much better... :scared:

EDIT: Never knew Nissan produced V8 engines... the R35 GT1 sounds excellent!

Yes,I loved like you the first gt,but for me GT4 is THE GAME!!

GT3 was probably the most exciting release to me.. partly because my buddy found a copy at Circuit City a week before it was supposed to release :embarrassed: Imagine that happening with GT5!! hah.

But GT4 was the first time I was truly overwhelmed by a video game .. in a good way of course. I know GT5 will duplicate that effect. Not sure what brand of excitement I'll feel.

I think GT4 was the most memorable and my personal favorite, just because of the possibilities I've had with it. I played A LOT of GT3 and got into GT4 and had a blast, and continued to have fun as my taste in cars changed, followed by building new cars and having more fun. I know GT5 will deliver the exact same, and I can build the cars I did in GT4, in GT5 in higher definition, and have a lot more fun racing new cars on very nice tracks

This tends to happen everytime here. Happened yesterday with heavy rain, I expect it to happen with bad company 2 on monday.:sly:

I'm going to bet they have the 2009 model (Which was just a test model). I doub they will have this one though. But we can hope.

Also, is the V8 sourced from Nissan or is it from another manufacturer? I'm thinking that because the car is ran by a privateer team, and i think FIA have rules in place meaning the engined has to be sourced from another manufacturer in the sport. Not sure on that though.

It's a Nissan engine. Remeber Nissan ran quite a few V8s in their various Le Man and GT racers over the years, NA and with Turbo.
Even if it doesn't sound like it, the GT-R in the SuperGT has a 3.5L V8

Man it is seriously detuned for the road cars!

GT1 GT-R features a front mounted naturally aspirated V8 engine, a VK56DE with a displacement of 5,552cc. The VK develops 600hp and more than 650Nm of torque. It’s mated to a Ricardo 6 speed transaxle via a 5.5″ carbon triple plate clutch. All this drives only the rear wheels. Carbon brakes and pads all round are clamped by 6 piston front and 6 piston rear calipers. Putting the power to the ground are 18″ x 13″ Rays forged wheels all round

VK56DE
The VK56DE is a 5.6 L (5552 cc) version built in Decherd, TN. Bore is 98 mm (3.9 in) and stroke is 92 mm (3.6 in). Output is 317 hp - 320 hp (227 kW) at 4900 rpm with 375 to 390 ft·lbf (509-522 Nm) of torque at 3600 rpm. It has aluminum-alloy block and heads and low-friction molybdenum-coated pistons. The valvetrain is a dual overhead cam (DOHC). It has 4 valves per cylinder with micro-finished camshafts and ductile iron cylinder liners for increased durability.

Motorsport

Nismo also uses the VK56DE for FIA GT1 racing. In race trim, it produces 600 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque.[4]

Applications:

2004–present Nissan Armada, 317 hp (236 kW)
2004–present Nissan Titan, 317 hp (236 kW)
2004–present Infiniti QX56, 320 hp (240 kW)
2008–present Nissan Pathfinder, 310 hp (230 kW)
2009 Nissan GT-R GT1, 600 hp (450 kW)

The Nissan Cima has a V8 engine and is quite popular with Yakuza types here in Japan.

Pity it looks like a Ford Scorpio with a makeover. I suppose not every car can be a looker. I've no room to talk, I used to own a 1990 Nissan Sunny 1.4L. Oh yes, the sexy cardboard box straight lines, blocky dashboard, & black plastic bumpers, drove the girls.......away probably!

Saying that, I do enjoy driving the old bangers on GT as much as the supercars, don't know why.

@fredzy,happycorey: I agree gt3 was fun, but GT4 was mindblowing! I booked the week off work as it came out near my b'day. Best all-nighter EVER!! I hope the chaparral 2j is in gt5. Oh yeah, I'm new sorry *waves* hi all!

Too much gym time?

kaz_forever.jpg

Really, though. I wonder about his health and personal life. I mean he smokes and is presumably under the highest level of stress imagineable (Japanese business men randomly explode and/or just die all the time from stress.)

If I interviewed him, I'd ask him what his doctor says about him and whether there's a Mrs. Kaz or Kaz Jr. in the plans.

ALRIGHT time for a quick chat about the GDC

We are now only weeks away and I want to know what you guys are expecting and here is what I think will probably happen

Worst case scenario:We get the Roma and Madrid trailer as a new video and we get a release date of Fall 2010(or worst,no release date at all)

best case scenario:We get a brilliant new trailer with night shots and the new damage model(maybe even the secret GT5 trailer in GOW 3 which is about 2:42 min (long)or maybe the secret trailer at TGS where only journalists saw it.Maybe an actual gameplay video and some new confirmed features(Livery editor and Dynamic day night cycle for example). Finally a release date for the summer or even sooner although unlikely that is going to happen

OK what do you guys think? will we get news or we will be dissapointed again?.

Being a cynic in general, i almost always expect to be dissapointed, and in the unlikely event the release date is moved forward i will probably be dissapointed by my cynicism, although that's something i can live with.

"Hope is the last refuge of failure".;)

I think the trailer on the GOW3 disc is our best bet for the near future. GDC is usually a technological and artistic showcase and forum, I'm not sure how much PD / Sony will want to divulge to other developers...

We should have an idea of both sources by the 10th or so - only two weeks away! :D

I'm expecting a new trailer, since this date is only a few weeks before the original Japanese release date. I'm also expecting a summer release date - I may have to cancel my holiday in May

I've learned to deal with disappointment, so I'm now more a realist than the pessimist I used to be - I'm still a fully-fledged cynic, though! :P
