Sure, you got a point. But those scratches and that massive jump left me with more doubts that anything else. For such an impact with the Gallardo, I expected more extensive damage. But in all honesty, damage has been kept a secret (except for the good videos we saw at TGS 2009). We can fully critique damage once we've seen it complete, but as of today, we have a lot to question.

why? We knew that some cars would just gave smears and scuffs, others have panel deformation, and others have parts come off completely. Makes sense for Lambos, ferraris and the such, to be the ones showing least damage.

The meat of the article you linked:

GT5 Delay Painful For Sony Too
We are all getting fed up waiting for the ever-slipping GT5 and Sony are feeling the financial pain of Kaz’s failure to reach a point where he is satisfied with the game. They were asked about how their Q4 software forecast met with internal targets they had previously set. The answer went like this

In fourth quarter we are seeing an underachievement of the target by ¥20b. One reason is the delay in the launch of Gran Turismo [5]. We were originally scheduled to launch Gran Turismo [5] this year but it looks more likely that it will be after 2010 so that’ll be a significant factor.

Wonder if Kaz was listening in to the call. Yes, they did say “after 2010″. Whether that was a slight mistranslation by the translator and Sony simply meant in 2010 or after the start of 2010 I have no idea. I listened to that part of the call several times to try and determine which was meant and it was not clear. If, and it is a big if, Sony really did mean “after 2010″ then given the context that would mean after their 2010 financial year which ends in March 2011. A delay that long does not bear thinking about for us race fans or Sony.

If this proves true, it is beyond ridiculous. I don't know, I just don't know...

Yea this was already combed over. The consensus in that discussion was that the 4th quarter that Sony is talking about underachieving in is the FY2009 4th quarter - or Jan-Feb-Mar 2010.

Sony called FY2009 "this year" which was interpreted by the observer as 2010. So when they said "GT5 will come after this year" the interpretation was that it willl come in 2011. Meanwhile, in the context of that meeting it actually means it will come after March 2010.

about this day/night cycle thing....

the Toyko track has always seemed pretty sunny in vids, but it looks pretty dark here. Sun much lower in the sky....

You have no idea how fast that time will fly by. And tomorrow you all are will be playing GT5. Just let it go, forget about it and suddenly you will wake up and realize that ....... oh ****! GT5 tomorrow is on sale :sly: I did that and don't much care about all of that nonsense with delays and how Kojima* don't like how GT5 looks or feels.

*I did that Kojima on purpose...

Nice screenshots from the GT by Citroen video! ;)
Miss Special Stage Route 5 and 11 so much!
Is that a new night course in the last picture? :dopey:

This may have been discussed previously, but 340 pages of trawling seems a little daunting.

I was just wondering if anyone knew if the licenses are going to be in GT5? I kinda enjoyed them as it was a nice way to get into the old GT's when you first got it, & I always had trouble with them on the Dual Shock. Want to try them out on my DF-GT, see how much better I can be (if any!)

Just like everybody else, I'm extremely impatient for this. GT-Prologue is good, but limited, & NFS:Shift is fun, but too arcadey to take seriously.

I don't know for the last picture,
but I know it has been discussed some time in the past,
that in that video, there was a shot of London at night too..
(some guy with a perfect eye saw the lights illuminating "hyde park" or something like that, and he was correct I think)

Good morning to you!

I went to bed feeling depressed after reading that article. I will happily take your word for it :)

Is that a suspended bridge in the back round of the last GT by Citroen picture? The lights outline it. Maybe it's a San Francisco course.

I think the sun is up alright. It is just that it is blocked by the office building. We are looking at the shadow side of the building and surroundings.

Yeah, Tokio but can anyone name that silver car in front? i don't seem to recall seeing it before, i don't think it's either a Saleen or Pagani.

I'm sorry for asking this as i pride myself on being a petrolhead.:boggled:

Saleen S7 but it does look like a Zonda from that angle

nice night shots aswell, please if you got any more post them never seen those before.

Giving it a second look and judging by those side intakes it definately is the Saleen, although it looked slightly more wig-shaped than the original.

Might be the angle like you mentioned, or maybe i should get my eyes examined.....:boggled:

I don't recall seeing this posted, but there is this one report stating that it is not Sony's decision to delay the game, but Kaz is simply not satisfied and it is "painful" for Sony as it impacts them financially in a negative way.

It's been painful for 2009 Q4 sales, I imagine the delay could improve 2010FY sales though. I don't see anything else to back up the authors opinions about KY and I don't see anything at all about it not being Sonys decision.

@ gtbillyboy

Geohot didn't crack it. Moreover he didn't even menage to run anything on GameOS (because he is using only otherOS ((linux)) ).

Even if he menage to run any unauthorised code on GameOS still there are more bariers:

-BD copy protection for games. Still all BDcopies of games are useless. U can copy BD game but even if you try to use it ps3 system even cracked won't read it. There is bunch of data coded within BD disc that Alcohol, CloneDVD etc can't find/read it.

-Hardware security chip. And this chip is like nemesis to all tries of cracking console. No over buffer of memory etc..

So far pirated games are dream on ps3. Cracking PS3 is just too damn expensive to do it alone with minimal budget.

We might get this one in GT5 :)
