Holy Crap! anyone notice the experience for the Bonus races? 150,000 for Race 1, 250,000 for Race 2, 500,000 for race 3, 750,000 for race 4 and 1,000,000 for race 5.

In total, for completing all 5 races, you'll get: 2,650,000 experience and 2.7million credits.

The SSR5 race I thought was going to be a cake walk. 1M Credits easy in my bank account.. WRONG that was probably one of the most difficult races. I even modded an R32 hoping it would be the most powerful for the least amount of light
 
I've heard rumours that the smoke and tyre water pixelation issue has been fixed? Can anyone confirm this? (I'm at work unitl 5.30pm and can't check!!)
 
Why do the cars take so long to refuel? The Formula GT for example is being raced by B-Spec at the Indy 500 right now.

He runs out of fuel and it's about 100 liters he takes (99 exactly I think, he had 1 liter left). I timed the stop and it took 60 seconds to put the fuel in.

Considering that Formula 1 cars can refuel at about 12 liters/second, this is 6 times longer than it should actually take.

I haven't driven a NASCAR in a similar race, but I'd assume it's just as long, if not longer. Why are the refueling times so long? Did they just put in a single liter/second time for all vehicles, including race cars which have very fast refueling abilities?
 
Question for those of you that have reached Lvl 25 Endurance Races:

Since they take so freakin' long to complete, can one save the game while in an event and come back to play them later on??

Nope. You race them from start to finish. Only thing you can do is pause the race.
 
Just a head up, the gift limit is no longer reset at midnight. The clock starts when you send the car instead. So when you send a car at 7 pm today, you can't send it again until 7pm tomorrow.
 
Just an observation: in the in-game credits, it shows that PD has been licensed the AM One-77, yet it isn't in the game. Odd... DLC, perhaps?
 
tyre smoke still looks as pixelated to me. I thought shadows were improved but maybe that's just my imagination.

I disagree. I've played many times split screen with friends and we're doing burnouts and donuts many many times. Full of smoke !

There has been no improvement on either of these 2 points I'm afraid.

The jagged edge could be smoothed & blurred out. At this stage, I think it would be worth doing as the blocky / jagged effect would be far less noticeable. Not perfect, but better.
 
Well... I did a bit of a run last night. Raised 2 levels to 25, unlocked Endurance, completed the last AMG (silvers and one gold in the full lap on first try), and trained a 3rd b-Spec, and that took me from 1 to 3,5 million credits, despite some car buys and upgrades. That bit is all going very well.

Unfortunately the online bit is (was) worst than ever. After login in to PSN the game would freeze for minutes in the main screen. I mean the animation went on, but I couldn't do anything. Going into the XMB and logging off unfroze it with a "can't connect to server" message.

So I couldn't try the new online goodies... :(

PD could probably try increasing the number of max connections again.

If we are going to see leaderboards for all tracks + all cars then I'm sure that more connections will become active and more people will end up getting locked out of the game.

It's quite interesting really because one would think that if GT5 had 'sold through' to around 3M gamers then 1M connections ought to be a very reasonable number to cater for them. It's unlikely that everyone the game has sold to will have internet access though there are always going to be high spikes in usage when an update is released. I suspect that perhaps the code (client / server) doesn't allow connections to drop in a timely fashion once any online activity (e.g. upload a leaderboard time) is completed.
 
The latest patch/upgrade is excellent. But there are still a few things needed - fully customisable gears, the ability to save set ups for your cars and a practice option before starting endurance or championships so you can set your car up before the race.
That added to better smoke/spray effects would make this unimpeachable!
 
looking at series list a/spec and b/spec.am series,beginner,pro,extreme and endurance. looks like theres still a slot available for one more,does there not.???

out on the ps3 menou no disk show....this happent to my first ps3...

i turn off ps3 and on 2-3 times...final the disk show up...i select it...8001050F code show up telling me to reboot the system...clean the disk and try ather disks...so i did try....fall of men..and work fine at the point.....then i insert again gt5 and i got again the 8001050F code...i try one dvd movie and play fine...try again gt5 and a got again the 8001050F code...

then i format ps3....after the format no ps3 game disk icon show up on the ps3 menou...but ps2 games dvd and music cd play perfect....and i connect to internet perfect

final gt5 cd icon show up...i make an entry and i got diferent code..with a 14 at the and sorry i dont remember now...


now i got one ps3 playing everything but ps3 games...and specially gt5....

You have a bad Blu-Ray laser. GT5 did not break the physical laser on your PS3.

You could look into replacing the Blu-Ray drive yourself. Having fixed my own YLOD, I had to remove the Blu-Ray drive to get to it. Replacing it would actually be quite simple. Once you get the case open it is connected by four screws and two cables.

Yep, I noticed the same thing. It seems just right to fit a new level...

I also noticed that the main GTLIFE screen may still have some surprises...
The space under special events seems a good place to fill and maybe also the space on the right ...

So for symmetry, imagination and dreams...

umm space under special events.i think ya could be right there..space in events.f1 chmpshp.isnt endurance long enough???.probably nascar and F1

During the competition period you will have the chance to test your skills in 5 races across 5 courses within the B-Spec mode of GT5.

All of the eligible markets for the competition have been placed in regional groups. Please refer to the competition terms and conditions at time of entry to establish which region you fall within.

At the end of the competition period entrant(s) with the fastest composite time over the five courses within each regional group will win a place in phase two of the competition at the Mercedes Benz driving event.

There is no limit to the number of times that you can attempt each of the five races to improve your best time. Leaderboards will be viewable during the duration of the competition on gran-turismo.com.

The special Mercedes-Benz driving event that is phase two of the competition is due to take place in Spring 2011.

Over the course of two days you will be put through your paces in a real-life AMG vehicles and eventually, whoever has the smarts and the skills will emerge with the keys to one of the finest supercars in a generation.

Buying and replacing the laser lens itself will be cheaper, full drives will be about the same as Sony's replacement.

You might find laser lenses here.
