Matt HelgesonYou are very supportive of Polyphony Digital and have given them what seems like almost unlimited time to make Gran Turismo 5. Obviously, they want to make the best game they can, but from a management perspective does it reach the point where you say enough is enough?
Shuhei Yoshida[Laughs] Well, with developers like Yamauchi-san, it may look from the outside that they spend as much time as they want, but they really do work hard to get the game done. They wish that they could release these games more frequently. But because of the pressure they put on themselves, they have been doing the best they can.
It's true that it has been five years since the last true game - Gran Turismo 4 - was released; when you look at it like that the team seems to be taking forever. But Gran Turismo is one of the faces of the Playstation brand, so they always get requests from the platform side to make technical demonstrations. Kazunori would remind you that, from Polyphony's standpoint, they have released something almost every year, like Gran Turismo HD, the one-track demo or Gran Turismo Proto or the PSP Gran Turismo. So, yes, they aren't like other developers that can release games year after year, but they are also in the situation that they have additional responsibilities to the platform. So I'm half-agreeing with your statement, but also trying to explain the situation around Gran Turismo
I was just over a friends house trying out his driving SIM in iRacing. And thay have this free practice run online where everyone online in the same class car was running all at the same time. Man! I wish we had that feature in our GT5p online in "Free Run" it would be great to just run laps with other people online. Instead of just racing for 5 or 10 laps then starting over. I think they could max out up to 46 cars online.
@kaczor
Actually, this article manages to shine some light at the possibility of another Destination Playstation event which is likely to showcase some of PS3's upcoming exclusives before that of E3.

Remember, a pinch of salt...
I am 100 Sure we will see the game either on Q3 or over that, because if it was spring or summer, we would of already see more videos and pics from PD
This GT Academy is a waste of time. Stupid waste of time and space, get rid of it no-one cares for it and hurry up with the damn game.
Sorry I'm not impatient I'd just rather see news about Gran Turismo 5 not some silly GT Academy bull dust.
Sony is suffering from serious hardware shortages right now. They won't release the game until stocks of PS3 hardware are up and when it'll be a better time to market the game. I'm pretty confident about a fall/winter 2010 release. E3 and TGS will both have big-showings for GT.
October in Japan, November in US.
You do realize that GT Academy has basically no effect on the game right. In fact you should be happy it exists or we probably wouldn't have gotten a TT demo at all.
I wish it were the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show again.
