I have GT5 now, and am very pleased with this game. I would like to voice my opinions of a few major minuses of Gran Turismo 5 though. And I'm not sure whether or not the following can be fixed with future update, but I hope so.
Okay, first of all, GT5 does not have all the tracks from GT4, which I was dissapointed with. I enjoyed the variety of the many different tracks in GT4, even though the graphics are not as great as GT5. I know the creators of this series are going for realism here, but it is great to be able to drive on the many different tracks. They need to bring back tracks from GT4, and maybe add a few as well.
Secondly, what is the deal with not having 2P replays?! That is also a HUGE minus to this game. The previous versions had this, why not GT5? This speciffically let me down quite a bit. Again, I'm hoping that at least this can be fixed with future updates.
Finally, I'd have to say that this version needs test tracks, like in GT4. That was really handy in that version, being able to go and test a car you've just bought/tuned on tracks specifically designed for pushing your car to its best. This helped when I was trying to find just the right settings for a car to go and race in a really big event that I needed to conquer.
On those happy thoughts, I'd be glad to voice the positives of this game, of course in my opinion.
I think the graphics are mind-blowing, along with the sound. I like the different views of the car that you can choose from when driving/viewing in replay. The damage was something I was hoping for in GT5, and I'm glad that this version does have that. It is very accurate and detailed. I am very, very satisfied in with the new photo mode view. It amazed me when I found out you can walk the camera anywhere on the track to get a better picture view of something. The creators were going for realism, and I think they hit that target with deadly accuracy.
Well, these are a few of my opinions of the new revolution in the Gran Turismo series. I can't wait to see what awesome treats Gran Turismo 6 will hold. I am very confident in this particular game series, and am glad that such effort and time was put into Gran Turismo 5. Well done.
