I really hope we could arrenge a self made races against our Bspec drivers someday, I think it would be a good feature, any thoughts ?

Took a part on newest Time Trials and as always, I just used some random car to drive them through (never used ones used by leaderboard 1-10)

for 395 BHP Time Trial I used Mitsubishi 3000 SL (J) '96 and managed to barely get that gold trophy

for FF 295 BHP time trial I used Mazda Kusabi '03, got gold

I am guessing I will never end up in 1-100 list because I just dont get it why people loves to downgrade LeMans racers for em, should be leaderboards for road cars and racing/rally cars indepentedly :)

I do still love Gran Turismo 5. However, I've now been thinking so much about the disappointing aspects of GT5. I don't like to ponder too much on these things because I'm such a GT fan. The ability to still love a game even with its flaws is still worth showing some love for. Like I said one time- GT5 will have shortcomings. The real key would be on if GT5's shortcomings are enough to make owning/playing GT5 a deal-breaker. I am still fairly satisfied for the most part even today. I mean, I've played GT5 for about what... two or three months, while most of you others have played it for much longer?

Because I mostly try to be positive about games and gaming, it doesn't mean that I am unaware of or focused on a game's negatives. I think a lot could have been done to make GT5 better, but I am still fairly happy regardless. I have been the same positive and optimistic way on GT5 as I have been through the development and wait for GT4. I still remain fairly happy with GT5. Glass half full, people.

totally agree with you on the b-spec race, my brother and i were just doing that yesterday, ghetto style obviously..we would mark down my fastest b-spec lap and compare it to the other b spec driver hahah...i'm faster by half a second to more than a second depending on the track, car..X1 good fun

So nothing from TGS? Man I can't believe they didn't announce something. Oh well there is always Twitter.:boggled:

The Sony conference is over. No announcements on future PD projects.

Of course there is still a chance they are going to show some something new at the Sony Booth.
I don't know if Kazunori is present at the show. In case, we'll sure get some interview, at least.

You mean you were actually expecting something form TGS? What could they possibly announce for a game thats already out?

Knowing how PD Marketing Strategy works, if we get DLC into the Game it would be like you put your GT5 copy in your PS3, you see a patch, installed and within 20 minutes PD would post an entry in the Official site making the announcement :dopey:

No I really wasn't expecting anything to tell you the truth. But PD should be letting fans know what they have planned on doing to this game. Did I get my hopes up? NO, hell no why would I? This is PD we are talking about.

I mean wouldn't you want to let people know and get excited for what you have made or plan on creating? I'm just floored that they do not care on letting fans know what is being done to their game. It would be the perfect time, before feature updates and DLC.

It's been almost a year quit with the secrets.

Here's my take:

PD probably considered releasing "real" DLC early on but their business model wouldn't allow for it. The cash from GT5 is funding next generation content so we'll be forced to wait for GT:Vita or GT6 Prologue before we see truly new Gran Turismo content. I don't expect anymore GT5 updates except for seasonal events, online dealership cycles, bug patches, and GT academy events.

The lack of information blows but the secrecy plays into their hand.. I'm with you though. Being a GT fan is frustrating beyond comprehension.

I agree with you execpt for the last part, keeping things secret ahem "Top Gear" didn't really play into their hand IMHO. So when PD thinks they have one up on the competition they are really one step behind.

The game is finished! Enjoy it for what it is. Sure it has its faults, but it still has the best physics/driving model of any current console racer.

That's the thing that bothers me, if Kaz said don't expect it, than I wouldn't. But he did.

Games still get patches/dlc/feature updates even after a year. Read Dead Redemption.

I couldn't agree more. What we think however, PD could care less about. IF there will be some kind of DLC or expansion, you are right to expect they would announce it. Not just for those who already own GT5 but to generate excitement and bring additional players to the fold. Unless of course there wont be any.

Personally, I was/am very disappointed with GT5 and how the franchise is being managed. What PD considers a priority for patches is somewhat questionable. Again, after 6 years and 10 months, in MY opinion, GT5 is still in Beta, PD seems to treat it as such. If no further development comes about, well, I guess we should all know what to expect from GT6. Actually, at this development rate and content delivery, I suspect a lot of fans may no longer care by the time GT6 comes out.

Good. I still think its unreasonable, a YEAR after a game has been released to keep on expecting updates/dlc/addons.

What's funny is that it's still not finished. Where is the matchmaking feature mentioned in the manual?

I'd like it if they could model a few more premium vehicles or add a track or two as I feel GT5 is a little light on for real-world tracks. But I won't hold my breath, or get upset if they don't.

I have no expectations for upcoming content or DLC as of now. I'm also guessing that there won't actually be a "spec II". Just enjoy the game and what it does well, as of what I am doing.

Don´t even get me started with the leaderboards. I don´t why other people are not as mad as i am that this feature is in both GT HD and Prologue, but it´s still not in GT5.

Hopefully they will have a better management before they launch leaderboards (if they will ever do that)

Important Notice Regarding the Mercedes-Benz Driving Event

In the current Mercedes-Benz Driving Event from the online events section of Gran Turismo, it has been noted that it is possible to shorten laptimes by driving a line that is not intended to be a part of the track layout.

Due to this, we have decided to perform an update that would adjust the areas where driving is disallowed on the Top Gear Test Track, reset the rankings, extend the event duration, and redistribute the event.

We sincerely apologise to those who have already participated in the event, and ask for your patience and understanding.

So.. still nothing new about those updates with new features and content.. (they were meant to come in september and october).. :/
