I had a chance to finally race the Pescarolo C60 Hybride. Man, that car is TOUGH to drive! The back end tends to invite you to spin it out. Not even my Peugeot 908 HDi FAP or Audi R10 TDI are as tail-happy as this Pescarolo. I almost feel inclined to try to get an old friend, the Nissan R92CP, to be my best prototype racing machines. I still forget sometimes that I have my Toyota 88 C-V (the "Minolta Toyota") in my garage of 200+ Standard cars. Still, my best and fastest car in my collection is the Mazda 787B. Still trying to raise enough money to have a second Formula Gran Turismo car. I'll offer the one I already have as a car that can be borrowed if anyone needs their own Formula GT.

Speaking of borrowing, I learned that you can have more than six cars to borrow. I saw a PSN friend's collection of cars, and I saw more than six. Not sure what the limit for borrowing is, but I know I could put more than six to be borrowed.

One thing I'm still impressed with in GT5 are the car sounds. Maybe not the best ever, but certainly the best in GT history. And as far as my comments on GT5, that's how I usually am. I am disappointed on a number of things in GT5, but the game remains great to me for the most part. Positives outweigh negatives.

I find that the tail-happy behavior of many (especially race- and super-) cars in GT5 is mainly due to lousy LSD simulation and default LSD settings that don't make much sense. Under acceleration mostly only the rear outside tire appears to do all the work of transfering power to the ground with such default settings. Lowering much the LSD acceleration setting (to 10 or less) makes such cars competitive rather than "fun".

Has it ever occurred to you that your points have been beat to death in these very forums? Ever hear of kicking a dead horse? That link that you provided mirrors that very point.

Who is blindly defending PD? I sure hope you aren't insinuating that I am. In this very thread I said that GT5 is not perfect. I just don't fixate on the issues. I play the game, enjoy it, and look forward to what the future holds, regardless of how "bad" or "good" it is in your eyes.

You almost sound as if you want a pat on the back for stating the obvious. Everyone knows it took long for GT5 to come out, including those at PD. I don't believe anyone in this forum (at least in the years I have been here) has ever disputed that, and least of all me.

I have come to realize that the bulk of GT5 players either don't care about all the minute issues or have moved on. Of course, there is a percentage of people just like me who you know, treat GT5 for what it is.

A video game.;)

Forgive me mate, but you seem full of anger.

I know those issues have been beaten to death. I was replying to what you said and to the insinuation by Sony that GT6 will take years to develop. No more, no less. Maybe you should read my comments again.

All said, these forums are for all members. Again, I posted a link to something I read and added my reaction to it. Take care.

Maybe PD should take the Apple business model and start charging for small incremental updates to the series? That'll fill in the gaps in the earnings between full, properly revised, discrete iterations of games, too. Plus, it's totally relevant. 👍

Absolutely, I'm pretty sure that many GT5P features and code were used in GT5, just look at the sales figures for the two combined titles and you'll have more than 10 million copies sold worldwide, that is relevant if you consider the total budget for GT5 was probably covered by GT5P alone. It's a hypothesis but a rather feasible one.

Now, changing scenarios to allow patch releases or Spec versions at each six months (Paid DLC, obviously) or so and you have a great seller and big moneymaker title. Not to mention that the launch window for the next full title becomes more flexible, since there is content being added on a regular basis to the currently marketed title. Win-Win.

Well, it beats annual re-hashes, I suppose, so long as the DLC is reasonably priced. I rather think that Kaz prefers to offer updates for free, though. I doubt he'll be allowed to, of course. Especially if GT6 is as far away as some fear.

Any news about the winner of the Gran Turismo award at Pebble Beach this year?

Found it!

1960 Plymouth XNR Ghia Roadster

Cool car. Shame the Abarth still isn't in, though.

If I am not wrong the 2011 winner should be a 1934 Voisin C-25 Aerodyne
This is the car:

(posted by LordVonPS3)

The Voisin won this year's best of show award.

The Gran Turismo trophy is a separate award (decided on by KY and is based on performance & style). KY's only tweeted that he's about to announce it and that the car will be in GT6. i.e. He hasn't announced it just yet but I'm sure it will appear on gran-turismo.com just as all the other Gran Turismo trophy cars at Pebble Beach have been announced there (see post here for more links to those).

The asymmetrical cars KY's mentioned will be "this year", thus the notion that these will be GT5 DLC.

👍 Thanks for the clarification.
I should have paid more attention to the previous posts.

Unfortunately, based on Akira's translation (KY tweets thread) it seems that "this year" is not related to DLC.

I just saw that as well... Not sure whether to be :) or :grumpy: !

:grumpy: on account of no DLC being announced. :) on account of the DLC that wasn't announced isn't for asymmetrical cars!

Lets hope for some good news soon.

Angry? Not at all. As I said in my post to you, and in several of my posts as whole, GT5 is a video game. I do not take it as anything but as a form of my entertainment.

If I come off brash, I apologize, but as you admit, these issues have been beat to death, so what I should have done was read your past history and not responded to your comments. If I did, I would have realized that you are very negative towards GT5, and continue to post the same type of statements.

I think after 7 moths they need to get on with the program. The game needs it.

All other developers have great stuff shortly after release, such as DLC content. Too much to expect after 6 years in development? Too much to ask for PD to LISTEN to what its players/customers want?

June 7th
After such a disappointing release, with a 6 year development, I truly expect nothing from PD. Kaz doesn't get it, he gave what he had to give 1 through 4.

Maybe a new good patch for a change.

You seem very negative. Moving on from GT5 and exclusively playing rFactor might do you some good.:)

Hum...sorry mate, I consider those comments factual and realistic, blunt, not "negative". I could make a list of the positive aspects of GT5, I think I have on occasion.

Do not forget for a second however, unlike most other games, GT5 took 6 years to develop. I think I can say that we all expected more. What PD delivered, after all that time, has been an unfinished, unpolished and not at all innovative game. Additionally, after 9 months from release, this title is still full of bugs and bad choices. I am confident PD will develop GT5 into a more fun and bug free game, the question is how long will it take them to get there.

It is very hard for me to stay focused on the positive aspects of GT5, when the solo game is quite boring and buggy, and the online play is horribly implemented and riddled with bugs (717, etc.). It is my understanding PD reads these forums, listing issues constructively can only help the game become better for us all.

I have no issue with you personally. Again, when I post here it is usually in reaction to news posted here by others or by me. I believe that's what this thread is for. I will no longer reply on this issue here, I do not think it is appropriate. Please write to me if we are to continue this conversation. Otherwise, I am sure we will occasionally disagree and agree on future issues. Cheers.

Probably the leaderboards since it is around September.

Great news ! And Jeff Gordon's gear will be available as a prize !

Yay!:) I can't believe they are using this as a anouncement. Why didn't they just put in bold letters

"You asked for DLC and the wait was worth it heres another suit"

Atleast this was put on the GT site and not sent out via twitter.

Bravissimo RoadRunner99!!! Great find!

This is more like it, letting us know on the website and enticing/exciting rewards. I hope this is a sign of things to come.

Holy Hell, Gordan's Race Suit and Helmet available as a prize? Oh...Hellz...yes.

Here is the news from N4G

Gran Turismo 6: only for PlayStation 4

Shuhei Yoshida, head of Sony World Wide Studios, announced that Gran Turismo 6 is under development, but seems likely to take several years. Because the developer Polyphony is currently working on updates for Gran Turismo 5. Gran Turismo 6 appeared only for the PS4?
http://n4g.com/news/829833/gran-turismo-6-only-for-playstation-4

If this news is true the question is: what do they mean!? DLC or not? new cars or tracks? Who knows...
